I'm just here for a quick post to say two things: what happened with the phone and what an interpreting exam is. First of all, Eternal Paradise, I couldn't check out the phone before I bought it coz it was in its box, which was sealed shut. And the phone wasn't charged, so I had to go home, charge the battery to find out that it was broken. >.< Anyway, I went back to the store and they gave me a new one. A black one coz they couldn't find a blue one anywhere in Australia. T.T Oh well, the black looks cool so it's fine. ^^ Although I can't help but feel the phone's wasted on me. I mean, I only call my mum to come pick me up from the station or something. ^^''' It's also strange coz I hate talking on the phone, but I like having a new one... Damn TV commercials and other marketing techniques. x.x Ok, now to answer Magnus' question on interpreting exams. ^^ Interpreting is the spoken form of translations, and in my case it's between Japanese and English. (There are written exams, but that's on the worker's code of ethics and the theory of interpreting, which I'm being tested on tomorrow.) All Australian interpreting exams (that I know of) consists of these three modes on interpreting: Dialogue Interpreting, Sight Translation and Consecutive Interpreting. I'll just explain what my last interpreting exam consisted of, coz it's just easier that way. ^^' Dialogue Interpreting: I had to listen to a conversation between two people. A Japanese speaking lady (my teacher) would ask a question while I take notes on what she just said. When the lady is done speaking, my teacher hits Pause. I say what the Japanese lady just said in English. My teacher hits Play. An English speaking lady answers the question while I take notes on what she just said. When this lady is done answering the question, my teacher hits Pause again. I say what the lady just said in Japanese. Repeat. And this goes on for the whole conversation, about 5~10 minutes. Note taking is an important skill in interpreting. It's so that you won't forget thinfs while interpreting. ^^' Sight Translation: The teacher gives me a short paragraph in English. I'm given about 1 minute to read that paragraph, take any notes I want and to prepare myself. Then I say what it says in Japanese. Then my teacher gives me a new paragraph in English. I'm given about 1 minute to read that, take notes and prepare myself. Then I say this paragraph in Japanese. Consecutive Interpreting: The teacher plays a speech of about 3 minutes in English, while I take notes on what was being said. When the speaker is done speaking, I say what was just said in Japanese while refering back to my notes. Then the teacher plays another 3 minute speech in Japanese, and I take notes. Then when the speech if done, I say the whole thing in English. And all that takes about 30 minutes, in a room, alone with a teacher, while my voice is being recorded... It's very tiring. ^^" And I hope that you understood my explanation. I know I can be confusing. ^^""" P.S. 9 more days until... something... Nya~!

Didn't I say the exact same thing a couple of months ago? O.o Anyway, my dad forgot that we're fighting. o.o I don't know how I'm supposed to react to that. ^^' Ah, my assignment wasn't evil. XP I had 3 months to do it, but did it in the last 3 days. XD I'm the evil one. XD They're showing "Le Chevalier D'Eon" here on Adult Swim right now. It's set in 18th Century France. It's a really cool anime. Lots of fencing. ^^ But the first episode was so confusing. @.@ There were a lot of French words and references to the bible. @.@ The main character, D'Eon, is a member of the secret French secret police and he's trying to solve his sister, Lia's, mysterious death. Episode 2 wasn't that confusing, so I'm beginning to really enjoy this anime. ^^ (I've seen 4 episodes so far) I did my last interpreing exam on Thursday. It didn't go so well. T.T Now don't say "I'm sure you did fine", coz it seriously was 30 minutes of torture. >.< Although some bits were easy... ^^' But yeah, the hard parts were mind numbingly hard. x.x I only have two more exams next week and I'm done for the year. XD No more classes, no more assignments, no more exams. Ye~y! XD The two I have left are Interpreting Skills Theory Exam and Medical Interpreting Theory Exam. They're both only in English!!! XD I got a new phone today (Motorola K1 and it was on sale XD), but I think it's broken. >.< The backlight doesn't turn on, so I can't see anything. Well, not exactly anything. It's really faint, but I can see a penguin jumping up and down when I turn it on. ^^' I called up Optus (my phone's service operator) and the guy said that I should take it back to the store. So that's what I'll be doing tomorrow. There's a good side to this though. *nods* I was trying to fix it and reading the instruction booklet, searching the net and I saw that it comes in blue! XD The store said they only have it in black or red, but I'm gonna try and make them get a blue one for me. I mean, it's the least they can do for selling me a broken phone, right? Hm... I know I wanted to say something else... Oh! The reason I asked you guys about me swearing was coz I swore to AleXavier on MSN and he said that it caught him off guard. ^^' I only swear when I'm really upset or there's something incredibly funny... But that's still very rare. And AleXavier said something really funny. Anyway, I just wanted to know if that was the same for everyone else. ^^' That's all. ^^""" And to finish the post off, here's the Sakura cosplay I want to make. T.T Now how can I say no to the both of you and not post? XD BUT! To be fair, I was about to post on Saturday. XD I'm going to cosplay as Sakura from Cardcaptors at the next con, but I couldn't decide which of her outfits to make. I asked a few friends, and they all said different things. I thought I'd post and ask everyone here and have a vote. XD But then Darke came on to MSN so I asked him. ^^' He gave me a good answer that helped me make up my mind. (Thank you Darke! *hugs*) SO, I didn't have to post anymore. ^^' Uh... yeah... it's his fault! *points at Darke* ^.~ Nah, he's great. ^^ It's not his fault. ^^ It's mine. ^^''' I'm going to be making a pretty hard costume, but I think I can manage. ^^ Oh, when I asked Matt (BKstyles) about it, he said "Brilliance takes time and raises the bar on mediocrity! Take the challenge and reap the benefits of accomplishment ^_^" Ehe, how funny. XD & Let's see, what else to write? I had quite a few fights with my dad last week. Now we only talk to each other out of necessity. Nothing more. And I think it's working out for the best. ^^ I handed in an assignment today. It was so hard! T.T Stayed up until 4:30am and still couldn't get it done. O.o So I got up early this morning and finished it. \(^o^)/ It was my Japanese discourse assignment and my teacher made us write the whole thing out... Yes, by HAND! 8 and a half pages... Urgh... But it's done. Yey!!! Ah! Do you remember how I said that my laptop cuts people's sites off? Well, sbsp found me a solution! XD Right click > Encoding > Right to Left Document You should try it, coz it's funny. ^^ The punctuation marks at the end of the line get sent to the beginning. XD That's it really. Nothing else worth posting about. ^^' I have no social life! Woot! XD & Oh~ I finished watching Air Gear. It was a great anime. XD Don't watch it if you're under 15 though. ^^''' Lots of swearing and skimpy clothing. ^^" I'm not too sure about the ending though. I was like "Awww that was a nice episode... What!? That's the end of the series!? What the hell!?" But yeah, that's coz I don't like ends without closure. ^^' I guess that's it from me. ^^' Oh right, I forgot to write this: I'm doing fine. ^^ And just coz I can't think of an object to use for the Picture Guessing Game, here's a question: How would you react if I were to say a swear word? The exam I had on Wednesday went really well. I made one mistake though. T.T Oh and before the exam, my teacher said “Raina-san! What’s that on your head!?” Ehe, my Sakura headband. XD (She didn’t call me Raina, she called me by my surname. Due to privacy reasons, I wrote Raina XP) And no one in my class (so that would be 7 girls above the age of 25... I’m the youngest...) and my teacher didn’t know Naruto. O.O My friend knew, so that was good. XD On Thursday, I took Luna to the vet coz she had bald-ish patches on her body. Luna was being extremely aggressive so the vet couldn’t examine her. I had to leave Luna at the vet for a night so that they could sedate her in the morning to examine her. That was the worst feeling ever. I’m Luna’s mother and I was useless. Luna was crying out to me wanting to go home with me, and I left her there. I’m the worst mother. Now don’t say “It was for her own good” coz I know that. But Luna doesn’t. All she knows is that I abandoned her for a day... I went home and cried most of the day. And I worked on my assignment which I had to hand in the next day. AleXavier and Mimiru-chan were talking to me on MSN during that time, so that calmed and cheered me up a bit. And I ended up working until 5:30am. It’s not the best research report, but at least I got it done. (22 pages... I think the university wants to kill me...) I handed it in on Friday, and I picked Luna up from the vet. Apparently, the land lady’s cats and dog gave Luna fleas and due to that infestation, Luna developed an allergy. She was groggy the whole day. Couldn’t even walk straight. She’s alright now... but still... *sigh* Oh and the vet thought I found Luna as a stray coz of how aggressive she is. How dare she say that about my baby! My Luna’s a pure bred tabby cat I bought at a pet store! She doesn’t like strangers, that’s all. On Saturday, I had another Medical Interpreting exam. My final spoken exam for this class. It was horrible. Absolutely horrible. I think I managed to scrape a pass, but that’s it. I may have even failed, I don’t know. I’m really disappointed at myself... I really needed to relax after that, so I watched Saikano (recommended to me by Darke) eps 1~8. It was really good. ^^ It would’ve been better if my parents stopped bothering me every 5 minutes... I also got vols 5~7, but I haven’t had time to read them yet. T.T Sunday afternoon, mum and I went to a family friend’s house to see her granddaughter. She was prematurely born in September, so no one was allowed to see her until about 2 weeks ago. She was so tiny and cute! Then she got the hiccups and that made her adorable! XD Sunday night... *writes a lot then deletes it all* Let's just say that I’ve lost all respect for my dad... whatever small amount I had to begin with... I know my life’s not completely bad. It’s just that there are a lot of bad things going on that make me blind to the good things... Like when I read Hiko’s post where he lists his MyO family and it says I’m his sister, it made me really happy. XD Ah, but now I’m depressed again... Stupid dad. >.< Oh! XD I have 20 mins to kill before an exam, so I decided to post. ^^ (Strange how I said I won't post till next month, and yet I am o.o) This is going to be nice and short coz I want to go and cram some more. *cough* Anyway. ^^' I'm in the computer lab right now wearing Shippuuden Sakura's head band! XD I came to uni with it on. Hehehe. No one really cares that I have it on. EXCEPT for the high school kids on the bus. O.o They were saying a lot of things. ^^" Like "OMG what is she thinking?" and "OMG that's so cool!" A girl wanted me to sit next to her, but I didn't. ^^' A guy said "Oh yeah it's Halloween!" XD No one really celebrates Halloween here. T.T (well, some do, but that's a real minority) Even some stores already put up their X'mas decorations. O.O Ok, I think I'll go now. It's 5:45pm so I have enough time to cram. ^^ Don't forget the safety rules when Trick or Treating! (don't take fruit and don't eat loose candy!) Have a safe and fun time! Still really busy too. I wasn’t going to post until next month, BUT how could I ignore what Magnus said? XD I’m posting for you. XP *hug* Thank you everyone for the wonderful comments on the con and my cosplay. I’m glad you all liked it. It makes all the hours I spent on making it all worth it! XD So~, what have I been doing since I last posted? I had to do a 15 min skit with my friend on Monday as an assessment task in Japanese. I had to hand in a major assessment task and an exam yesterday for Interpreting Skills. Today was a full day at uni (9am~9pm) and I had two exams (Second Language Acquisition and Medical Interpreting). I’m so exhausted! X.x I have a discourse analysis exam in Japanese on Monday. An interpreting exam on Tuesday on education in Japan and Australia (dialogue interpreting). And a consecutive interpreting exam on Parkinson’s disease on Wednesday (Japanese to English). Then I have to hand in another major assignment on Friday. And I have my Medical Interpreting major exam (worth 50%) on Saturday... Yes, Saturday! T.T Now if I survive all that, I’ll be pretty free for the rest of the year! XD I don’t have ANY classes during November (just exams and assignments). And that’ll be it for this year. Yup, I’ll be done! No classes until March!!! Bu~t, I’m thinking about taking a summer class. I have to do an elective class again next semester, so I thought I might do that during the summer. It’ll lighten up my work load a bit for next year and give me a reason to leave home. XP But I don’t know if I can, and I don’t know what class to take if I can... So nothing definite yet. ^^’ Hm... What else to write about? I don’t think I’ll post until next week Saturday or something like that, since I’ll be busy. T.T I’ll make sure I make time to visit though. XD But yeah, no post. ^^’ I haven’t even had the time to read three of my monthly manga “Nakayoshi”, or the “Detective Academy Q Premium” manga, or watch “Tales from Earth Sea”. T.T Ah! I nearly forgot! B-san asked me to check a speech he had to write in English. I said no. That’s right! I said NO! XD Oh, for those of you who don’t know, B-san’s a classmate of mine who asked me to help him with his assignments a couple of months ago. I ended up doing like 80% of it. >.< Maybe more... Twice... So yeah, I’m proud of myself for being able to say no. ^^’ Even though I felt really bad. T.T I’m so sleepy.    Supanova 2007!

XD On Friday, the two of us met at a book store in the city. Did a bit of shopping. Ceath bought a few manga and I bought Detective Academy Q Premium. ^^ Then we went to another book store, and there I got Saikano vol 3 and 4. I also got “WANDS Piece of My Soul” which is my second favourite band and my favourite album. XD I used to have it, but I lent it to my ex, who forgot to give it back to me when we broke up. I COULD get it back from him but, EW it’s been in his house. >.< So I bought it again. XP Then we went to the Sydney Olympic Park for the con’s Preview Night (6~10pm), but that wasn’t easy. X.x The train got cancelled, we were told to take a bus, but then they told us to take another train and blah blah blah. Hassle. ^^’ When we got there... the con was being invaded by giant moths!!! Gya~! They were huge! They were uh... about the size of my avi. ^^’ There were at least a hundred of them, and 50 of those were squashed/dead on the floor. X.x Gross! Anyway, there was an Anime Charity Auction for the Starlight Foundation. That was really fun to watch. ^^ That’s an FMA shirt signed by the entire English cast that went for about $350AUS and in the pic it’s worn by Michael Sinterniklaas (voice of Leo from TMNT): This was also signed by the entire English cast (both the T-shirt AND its box). Went for about $750AUS. Need I say why? (the two in the pic are Richard Epcar and Ellyn Stern, Batou from Ghost in the Shell and Julia from Cowboy Bebop): Then we watched the new movie Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex Sold State Society. But in the last 15 minutes of the movie, my mum called and told me that the car broke down right outside the con (my parents came to pick me up), so she wanted me to come out. So yeah, I missed the end. T.T Apparently, my parents can’t call road side assist without me. :/ On Saturday, Ceath and I met at the con at 9:30am. XD Since we had a weekend pass, we were able to go to the live link up with Stan Lee: We got an autograph from Liam O’Brian (Gaara). (Ms. Bakura Ishtar screams) He was a weird guy. ^^’ Below is a pic of me and him. ^^ This is what he signed on a pic of Gaara I had taken “*insert Raina’s real name here* I’m so damn emo, it hurts... I think I just need a girlfriend. And a pair of sandproof undies. XOXO Liam O’Brian”. O.o Btw, I don’t have any pics of Ceath coz she wouldn’t let me take any. *sniff* Oh well, there’s always next year. ^.~ Um... how about a smile? ^^" : There were a couple of these walking around the con. So cute! XD : This is Richard Epcar, me and Ellyn Stern. I asked him to sign a pic of Black Ghost from Cyborg 009, coz he's my favourite villain. XD But Richard Epcar said "Oh! I remember this character. He's Space Ghost." T.T : Two girls cosplaying as Kagome and Inuyasha (Kagome was Shippuuden Hinata and Inuyasha was Sasuke the night before): Me and Michael Sinterniklaas: Just random people at the con: Kya~! Kakashi-sensei!!! XD There were a lot of Sasukes at the con. But no Sakura. T.T So, I want to go as her next year. Hehehe: Soul Reapers and Ash from Pokemon... What a combination. O.o : A Soul Reaper with a Tony Tony Chopper hat. So cute! XD : There was a Haruhi Dance Off. This was the winning team. And yes, that’s Optimus Prime. ^^””” : Haruhi cosplayers dancing: This was the largest Hare Hare Yukai dance in Australia! And look at the far left of the dancers. I didn’t know that members of the Akatsuki could dance. ^.~ : This pic was so hard to take. >.< Coz people were walking in between us. T.T We were like “take it!” “wait!” “kya~!”. ^^” I first thought he was Athrun Zala from Gundam Seed. But he could be Dearka coz the hair... I don’t know. He’s someone from Zaft. ^^” I thought he was Roy Mustang, but he’s got a gun so maybe he’s Havoc? Oh and that's Sauron from Lord of the Rings... I was to scared to take a pic of him. ^^' : This was definitely my favourite cosplay there! XD He even has an apple! XD : Awww this kid was so cute! I asked his mother f I could take a pic. And she said of course, then told the kid to do his "little pose". XD Adorable!: A panel with Richard Epcar and his lovely wife Ellyn Stern: After that (2:30), Ceath had to go home. T.T So I was left alone at the con until my dad came to pick me up at 4pm. ^^’ So these Ceath hasn’t even seen the following pics. XP Here’s Chewbacca: We also had wrestling. XD It was the first time I watched wrestling live. XD : I got a Fat Momma comic book and got it signed for my mum. XD Fat Momma was such a nice lady. ^^ Very sweet. ^^ Oh and if you don’t know who she is, she’s the season 1 winner of Stan Lee’s Who Wants to be a Super-Hero. My mum loves her. ^^ : Me and Captain Jack Sparrow. But seriously, he’s not Johnny Depp. I thought he was at first glance, but when you look really carefully, it’s not him. ^^’ When I saw him, he said “Are you here to fix my arm?” Yeah, he thought I was a nurse. >.< I told him that I’m a nun and he said “Oh~! Then can you pray for me? Coz I really need it.” XD : More random people: And yeah, I went home. ^^’ (I took the train wih Shippuuden Sakura's head band which I bought there, on my head coz I felt like it. XD) This is where the con was: When I was leaving, I saw two girls from my high school. >.< Oh well. ^^” At the con, a least 20 random people took pics of me. O.o That was pretty scary. T.T One guy even took a pic of me with a 3D camera. Weird, huh? It looked like one of those normal film cameras without a zoom, but it had three lenses. Yeah coz it was film, I couldn’t see how it turned out. T.T Oh and I was the only Trinity Blood cosplayer there. O.O And there was only one other nun (I think from Chrono Crusade). A nice and short (?) post today. ^^ Hehe randomized05 said I look 18 and shinobicatgirl said 19. Damn straight!!! Take that all those people at the wedding who thought I’m 14! XD Thank you everyone for your support. ^^ *hugs all of you* I cannot wait till tomorrow! This is going to be the best 2 days of this year! XD Ok, tomorrow I’ll be going to Supanova Pop Culture Expo! A con with LOTS of anime! XD I don’t know if I deserve a break from my studies, but I can sure use it! ^^” I’m going to go with Ceath. She’s the first online friend I’ll be meeting! And we’re going to cosplay too! My first time cosplaying! I just finished my costume too. ^^’ I’ll be going as Esther from Trinity Blood. It was so hard! And I can’t do necklines and sleeves to save my life. >.< It looked absolutely horrible while I was making it. X.x But now that it’s done, it doesn’t look too bad, so I MIGHT submit a pic. ^.~ I’ve been busy with uni work. Still have three major assignments, two exams and a major assessment to do this month. -_-“ And I have two assignments and three major exams next month. Yey. T.T I don’t think I’ve slept properly in a while. Hooray. T.T No appetite as well, but I’m eating properly. ^^ I’ve been doing my stretches and exercises just like the doctor told me to do, and I went to the doctor’s today too. So my body’s been good. It was taken before we left home for the wedding. Be honest, how old do I look? Ok, let me tell you what Thalassemia is. ^^' Coz I know a lot of you were confused. That's my fault though, coz I should've explained it better. And what better way than quoting what someone else wrote? WebMD If you want to know more, the link's there. ^^ And I think I have Beta Thalassemia Minor. Common in the Mediterranean, rare in Africa and Asia... I got it from my Asian dad and not my Mediterranean mum. O.o To tell you guys the truth, I knew I have Thalassemia Minor for three years now. My doctor just told me to not worry about it. So I didn't... It's just that now I finally know how serious the situation is... If my child (if I ever have one) has Thalassemia Major, and is going to die once he/she's 40, then it's true that Gogyou Inu and the child will have something in common. And I don't think it's wrong to say that. It’s the truth and I think Gogyou Inu will be a great role model for my child. ^^ I've been thinking about it a lot this week. If I were to be guaranteed of a healthy child, would I still want him/her? Will I be a good mother? Is the world safe enough? And so I would like to post something Gogyou Inu wrote. I was touched at how he thinks of others when he has every right to think about himself. 40 years... That's half the normal lifespan. But Gogyou Inu's going to do things that most of us with a normal lifespan won't be able to do. And I really want to support him through it. Here's what he wrote: "Okay I think that many of you think it is wimmy to not fight. I want to know why that is? What do you get from knowing you have killed someone? Or why do you like it knowing that people has died. I don't get it. Why do many people think that fighting is the best thing to do? I know when I say this next thing it is going to make many of you mad. But, I am going to say it. Okay I don't like the fact that the USA is looked at as the big bully. It is something that is something that I don't that pride in. I also am tried of many people thinking cause we live in the USA that we will never be attacked and if you do we will kill them all. Because we can get attacked. I also don't think we should think of the USA as the best country. Because only reason we are free is because of wars. Which in those wars many people died that didn't need to. Like in Japan. When we bomb it we killed many people and they didn't all need to die. Just like when the Allied forces bombed Berlin many people died that didn't have too. All over the planet people have died in wars that didn't have to. I am so sick and tried of wars and people dieing. Why can't more people see this. Why does people love death and killing? How does it make them happy?" And this too: "Okay I understand that many of the wars and conflicts going on now will have to be solved by fighting. But, I think that in future conflicts we should talk them out and don't start a fight first. I know that this going to be hard but, it is something that we need to do. I believe that fighting or killing still will not solve anything. There will still be fights and wars if we fight and kill our enemy there will just be another one. So, what I think we need to do is try to end hate. Because hate is what causes the fights, the wars, and the killing. If there is no hate then there is no reason to kill. I also think that we can have enough military to fight to keep ourselves safe. But, it should always be used only if they will not listen to us after many trys. Because I still think that we will never get anything done killing. I need to know how you all feel about knowing our future was formed from blood. How does killing solve anything? It doesn't! How does hate solve anything? I doesn't! So, why do we all go about our days wishing these things to other people. We say that this person needs to die cause he/she killed someone how is that making anything better. We say it is bad to kill but, then we go and do it cause someone else did. If any of you can answer these questions with great reason then go ahead. I am not saying any of this cause I believe in God! It is cause we are going to end up killing each and everyone of us if we go on like this. I am asking you all to post this on your sites if you agree with me that we need to change and it needs to be now!" To be honest, I don’t know the answer to this question. I don't want anyone to post this on their site just coz I did and it says to do so. And if you want to, that's fine. If not, that's fine too. ^^ (I know how a lot of people hate chain letters and chain posts) I would also like to say that I believe those who fight for their country are very courageous and honourable people... I just wish none of them have to die. Oh and I know I don't live in America, but I think what Gogyou Inu wrote applies to the whole world. For example, I’m sure a lot of you know that the Japanese armed force is not allowed to fight. It’s a Self-Defence Force. However, there’s a huge chance the law would change. That means more fighting, more nuclear weapons... Thank you for reading.
