Busy busy busy busy oh look a break!

Man this week has been hectic! First I get home on friday to find that we have company, and everything is a mess. Then on Saturday my boyfriend and I had our own birthday/valentines day date plus all the chores we had to do. Then on Sunday, I needed to go grocery shopping and do laundry and get a mountain of homework finished for monday! Then monday ended up being a stay on campus till 9 at night so I could get everything done! Luckily I got a little break yesterday though...and today I get to stay on campus till 9 again. Isn't that exciting? Darn labs...always making me have to play with robots until its perfectly programmed... I'll probably get to talk more tomorrow, cause thats my easy day. My little relax and quit stressing day.

Happy birthday to me...

No fun was truely had yesterday. Honestly, the only nice thing that happened was my boyfriend gave me my present. My spoils from him are a new and larger sketch book, which I've been wanting for months, chocolate, a flexible eraser, and a blanket decorated with binary. Best gifts ever. And my aunt gave me gloves and a scarf that match. When its this cold, you need a lot of those. But ya, mostly all I did yesterday was homework, classes, more homework, LAB REPORT, homework, call mom, and homework. What a great birthday. I didn't even get to talk to my brother. Oh well, what can you do. I have decided that this song is my theme song. I LOVE it. Not all of Nephews songs are good, but the ones that are good are amazing, I think. Unfortunately, America also has a rapper called Nephew, so if you look them up, they aren't rappers, they are a rock band. But ya, even the lyrics kinda are like me, or used to be like me. I don't know how to explain it.

Nephew!!!

I was trying to find this song forever, and I'm sorry it doesn't start automatically, but its an embedded code, so I couldn't have it work like I wanted to. The song is called DTAP and its in Danish. They are a danish band, and if you want the english lyrics, then I'll write them under the Peace sign. But ya, I have been working my butt off the last two days. I had work and lots of lab reports to finish. I also lucked out though, and I got a really easy problem in Electrical Engineering for homework last night. Yay being in a high math and science major... Tomorrow is my 20th birthday! Woohoo...I don't really know if I'm excited about it or not. I'm more of a mild interest. Honestly, I have gotten past the point of having birthdays be a big deal.

America the weird

Thats why I needed you...needed someone to punish me for my sins...but thats all over now...I know the truth. -James Sunderland: Silent Hill 2 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Alright, so some info on my job is needed for this story. You will also know something about me that is quite different. First, there are two people who work at a time just like cops. We are "partners" because one person teaches grammer and the other does definitions. I am the definitions. We also have desks that face away from each other and computers. My partner likes to do lengthy drawn out explanations where as I like to answer the question quickly and effectively. Start of story: I had four chinese students around me asking questions and my partner had none so he was goofing off. As I was finishing answering their questions, three of my friends walked it. These friends are in a polygamy relationship with each other. The two boys walked in holding hands and the girl ran up to me and hugged me in the middle of a sentence. Having been used to this, I was able to finish explaining everything and then turn to them and say hello. Two of the chinese students had a look of absolute confusion on their face, one was blushing, and the other was staring at the two guys hands. This is where things got weird. One of the boys likes to mess with homophobes and chinese students...not really used to homosexuals. So he grabbed his partner and kissed him. At this point I looked at my students and figured out what was happening because of the look on their face. I also knew what was going to happen next. Punched shoulder, girl goes to hug the hug the guy that got kissed and punched, other boy looks hurt and apologizes. That was about all my chinese students could take and walked off. This is were I kicked the boy that got punched cause it was all his fault. End Story. I'm thinking about making it into a short manga, cause me telling it doesn't do the situation justice. And there was more to it as well. Oh Jamie, Kurt, and Delani. You amuse me a lot.

American Pass-time?

Thats why I needed you...needed someone to punish me for my sins...but thats all over now...I know the truth. -James Sunderland: Silent Hill 2 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- You know, I am one of the average Americans that watches the super bowl. But unlike a lot of the females I know, I watch it for the actual game and not the commercials. The half time for this one was the best I've seen since the Janet Jackson Fiasco. But I feel that this game is lacking the feeling that I got last year, which is a disappointment. Last year, you had the saints. It was great! It was all about america! We are a nation of underdogs. We always have been because of the Revolutionary war. Honestly, we lost almost twice as many battles as we won. The only reason we won was because we kept trying and didn't give up. Thus giving us the underdog mentality. So as soon as we get an underdog, we all route for them purely, but I think americans have just a little more faith and cheer harder for them. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to change my theme. It should be an interesting one.

We're a touchy kind of people

But it also meant that I didn't have work today because of it. Oh well, got me extra time to sleep and study for my exam in psychology tomorrow. Quick question...does your edit profile page work? I can't change anything at all. Its all stuck and no matter how hard I try to change it, it just doesn't work...it makes me angry... Also, I actually agree with you about the Hetalia thing Fuz. The only reason I find it worth mentioning was because of the characters themselves and how historically accurate it is. The characters are very much a stereotypical person from each country that the japanese see. I actually asked one of my japanese students what he thought americans were like before he came here. He told me "I used to think all americans where fat, loud, and liked to touch and hug each other." Happy Chinese New Year!

America...the meddlesome one...

Thats why I needed you...needed someone to punish me for my sins...but thats all over now...I know the truth. -James Sunderland: Silent Hill 2 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ITS SO COLD OUTSIDE! NOT OKAY! There is a blizzard going on outside. Its so bad the university cancelled classes after 5. Unfortunately, I don't have any classes after five. Not even on friday. I have a class that starts at four and ends at six, but otherwise nothing. I'm hoping that they cancel morning classes...that would be nice. Its not supposed to be over till tomorrow afternoon, so there is a possibility, but its highly unlikely. I've also been reading two really awesome things. One is called Scandinavia and the World. Its a web comic created by a person from Denmark and it makes fun of americans and other European countries. And from that I learned of Hetalia. It is a web comic turned Manga from a japanese artist. Its great and I love how the countries are portrayed! Especially the relationship between America and Britain! XD America eats a bunch of junk food and is loud and always calls himself the hero! Its awesome! It mostly centers around Germany though, because its about the Axis powers since Japan was part of the Axis. Still, funny and somewhat accurate though. ^-^

Its business Time.

This last week has just been really busy, and now I finally have some time to study before my two exams this week. I have a midterm already. Blegh. Needless to say, I'll be doing a lot of calculus and trying to understand Psychology. I've been trying to raise a plant! Thats right! I'm in charge of a living thing! Can you say bad idea? The larger of the two is still alive and doing very well I might add. But the little one just looks bad...I don't know if its going to live...my cat bit it before I could get it away from him, and that little part isn't doing so good. Poor little guy. Only three leaves are still green and alive. Other than that, I really just have work to talk about, and I doubt you want to listen to me talking about my students and how I am completely oblivious to when I'm using slang, but I'm going to tell you anyway. This afternoon was my favorite. I was talking to a student from Niger and he was about to walk out the door when I asked "Where are you off to?" He got so confused, and I didn't know why until I realized I should have asked him "Where are you going?" Oh americans and our funny slang! I'll change the layout next week and leave it as this for this week. I really enjoy it, and...I really don't have time to change it...ah...

Spoken Like a True Samurai

We get at least two every semester from the T Company. Every year, i am put in charge of them and anyone from africa. And every year, I surprise them by answer a question they are asking each other in their own language. Just the look on their face every semester is enough to keep me going. Same with most of the kids from africa, cause most of them speak a form of french. I love being multilingual. Anyway, that happened on monday and I forgot to talk about it. I really want more hours at work, but I haven't been able to talk to both of my bosses. Other than that, I finished the third series of Doctor Who...epic...and all I have to say to those who have seen Doctor Who is The Face of Bo. Ya, that was epic...also I went onto mangafox and realized just how many manga I had been there for the first chapter to come out and now they are complete. I remember waiting sometimes months for a new one to come out, and now kids can just find them and finish some of them in a single day. I'm getting really nostalgic this week, probably because I finally feel like I'm separate from my family. But ya, I should probably stop avoiding my Electrical Engineering and Calculus 3 homework...damn...

Me am good for english!

One, I love this song. Its a song by Jon Schmidt and if you've never heard of him, go look him up on youtube. He does some amazing work. And I knew I needed to use one of his songs for this theme. Two, I agree with you shadow! I have always been fascinated by religion and the symbols they choose. So of course, the cross is one of my favorites, followed by angels and demons. Thus, the reason all my cross pictures on the site right now also have demons and angels in them. I used to be religious, but as I grew older, I started thinking more about it, and decided that I'll worry more about religion later in life, and that logically it makes more sense to be atheist. Woo me. Ya, so I get to go to work in an hour and I'm just basically killing time. My Electrical Engineering class made me angry this morning mainly because my professor showed me something that I needed to know last night. I didn't end up going to bed until around four because I was doing equations the long way, when I could have just plugged it into a calculator and had it done for me. Bleh. So now, I'm sleep deprived and I have to go teach english...this is going to end badly.
