I HAVE TWO RIDDLES FOR YA'LLS!!!! If you can guess it, tell me!

Alright, the riddle is, there are two american coins that add up to 30 cents, and one is not a nickel. What two coins are they?

And the other one I have is Mr. Smith and his son Auther are driving in a car, and the car crashes. Mr. Smith dies instantly, and Mr. Smiths son is rushed to the hospital. The old surgeon is about to operate on Auther, when the surgeon says, "I can't operate on this patient cuase he is my son." How is this possible?
