Hazzark of Haven:
Chapter %: New Home
Enjoy!

City of Haven, Before
“Elder Plazare, have you word of Hazzark?” Jem asked Plazare as she entered his old hut like home.
“I have indeed, Jem. He seems very distressed.”
“Well, duh! He just got chucked out for something that wasn’t entirely his fault.” She said flopping down next to the old man.
“Do not speak to your Elder that way Jem, You must calm yourself.” Plazare said calmly staring into an orb-like ball in front of him.
Jem sighed and looked into the orb too.

They could see Hazz’s angry and confused face. His brow was furled and his eyes seemed cold. He shouted a few words up at the sky. The two over lookers supposed he was mocking his accusers.
“He’s all alone down there. Isn’t there anyway to get him back up here?” Jem asked.
“I do not suppose there is, and if there is, let’s hope he can find it.” Plazare responded.

They continued to stare into the ibis that lay before them. It wasn’t an orb that showed people really. It was more of a thought s and feelings orb. If you concentrated its power on one person it could manifest an image but most times locating the person was just a waist of time. At the moment they where concentrating it on Hazz, but being as he was in a place unknown, the image wasn’t as clear as they hoped it would be. So the feedback they got was more of his feelings and actions.

“It seems or dear Hazzark, has stumbled upon a new friend.” Plazare remarked glaring at the orb profusely.
“What! Who is it?” Jem came in closer to the orb as if she could make the new person appear in it.
“The orb can not tell us such information, as it is too fixed on the one we are observing, Jem.” Plazare said calmly, glancing at her.
“Look at him! He’s already forgotten us!” Jem crossed her arms in front of her chest and looked away from the orb.
“Do I sense a hint of jealousy in your tone Jem?” Plazare closed his eyes and waited for the answer.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Jem got up and walked from the old man’s home.
‘Who is this mysterious character?’ Plazare thought as he continued to examine the orb.

Present Earth

“So where are you from Hazz?” Shia asked as they chose a table in the back of the coffee shop. Hazz was stumped for a moment.
“Uhh…I-I’m from a place far …..East…” Hazz said thinking fast. ‘Some place far east… nice one you idiot.’
“Okay, is there a specific town?” Shia cooed.
“Um… yeah….” Hazz looked to his right and saw and old man with a very badly balding head, he wore a dark red jacket and big shiny black shoes. “Uhh….Black-Balding.” He said uncertain of the girls’ reaction. ‘What the hell, black-balding? What kind of city name is that?’ he thought to himself.
“Black-Balding, never heard of it. It must be pretty far East then.” Shia said as the waitress approached them.
“,,,Yeah..” Hazz relaxed a bit.

A small woman in a white dress and black apron came up to there table. “What’ll it be dear’s?” She said in a wispy voice.
“Uh, I think I’ll have the usual, Chai Tea. And He’ll…” Shia was cut off by Hazz.
“I’ll have the same thanks.” Hazz wasn’t that oblivious to what kinds of food and drinks they had here on Earth. Chai tea happened to be one of his favorite drinks from Earth.
“Alright, two Chai tea’s commin' up.” The waitress walked away from them and went back behind the counter to get there drinks.

“Alright, so why where you in a garbage pile Hazz?” Shia said returning the conversation to him.
“I tripped and fell, that’s all.” He said moodily. ‘What does this chick want from me, it’s like talking to a monkey, who keeps asking questions.’ Hazz thought. He leaned back casually on his chair. As he did he lost his balance because he was so used to his wings being there and having to leave a little extra room for them. He wobbled in his chair catching himself with the table.
“You okay there?” Shia asked looking worried.
“Yeah, I’m fine.” Hazz scowled.

The waitress came back with there tea. Hazz was hesitant to drink it but Shia went right in to it, drinking it like mad.
“Sorry, this stuff is the best you know!” She smiled and took another sip of her tea. “So where’s your family?”
Hazz looked away, his eyes seemed to be interested in a very ugly floor tile.
“I…don’t have any Family.”
There was a loud splash from over where Shia was sitting. Hazz looked up hastily. Shia had chocked on her Chai and had spit it out all over the floor.
“WHAT! NO FAMILY!!!??” She shouted so that everyone could here. Hazz jerked so violently at the shriek, he flopped off his chair and was lying face down on the floor.
“What do you mean! Did…” Shia lowered her voice a little, but the café could still here her.”…something bad happen to them?” Shia looked down at him on the floor, then around the café. “Heh, don’t mind us, we’re just… rehearsing for …a-a play! No need to stare!” The people in the café continued to give the two questionable looks.

Shia jumped down from her chair and helped Hazz up from the ground. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to shout, I was just surprised.”
“Damn girl, why do you do that to people.” Hazz gave her a menacing glare.
“I think we should leave. The PEOPLE,” Shia made sure to emphasize the word, “seem to be really nosey here!” With that she put the money on the table and led Hazz out of the café.

They walked a few block s and then Shia broke the silence. “I’m sorry about your family. I didn’t mean to make you sad or anything.” She looked down at her feet.
“Whatever it doesn’t matter.” Hazz replied.
“So where are you staying?”
“No place.” Hazz’s shoulder’s drooped a little. ‘I hadn’t thought about a place to stay.’ He thought.
Shia jumped in front of him with a wild grim on her face.
“What?” Hazz said confused.
“You can stay at my place! For now anyway! Till you get back on your feet!” She exclaimed proudly.
“Heh, I don’t think so. I don’t even know you.” Hazz looked at her and raised an eyebrow.
“Well then we’ll have to get to know each other as we go!” Shia smiled even wider.
“ Alright, lets say I do accept this insane proposal, what about your parents?”
Shia’s smile faltered for a split second but then it grew twice as much.
“I don’t have parents, my sister’s and I live alone. And I’m sure it would be fine. And you can help with some of the house work to earn money to pay me back!”
“You’ve really thought this over haven’t you?” Hazz’s eye brows rose even higher.
“Not really, considering that we just meet. I’m a good multi-tasker.” She smiled and the spun around and started walking forward.
‘Maybe this wont be so bad after all.’ Thought Hazz.
“Well, are you coming?” Shia turned her head back to look at him with her big hazel eyes glistening in the sun light.
“I don’t think I have much of a choice.” Hazz said quietly to himself., and then followed her.
