Chapter.2 A New Home
“Aaaaa, were finally out of that hospital!” Elexa said in relief. “Yeah, but where is this place that were going to live? Anthony asked Elexa, while stretching his arms in the sunlight. “Um, I think its about an hour and a half away from here, some place called Ashburry.” Elexa said lifting one of her suit cases into the taxi. “It’s that far away, that’s stupid, why do we have to move any ways? Dad left us more than enough money and the house is already paid for. So why? Ugh so why the hell do we have to move away?” Anthony shouted at his sister. “Why? Because dad lied he never paid off the mortgage, and because the money that he left us wont last us the rest of our lives, and because, because we have to pay for his funeral! That’s why! Elexa said now crying. “What, I thought that he paid the mortgage, he told us that he did.” Anthony said looking at the ground. “He told us he did but he really used it to pay for moms operation.” Elexa said and then sat into the taxi and shut the door. Anthony put his suit case into the taxi and he to sat into the taxi. As the taxi drove away, Elexa and Anthony took one final look at were they used to live and were quiet for the rest of the drive. As they pulled up to where there new home was Elexa was about to get out of the taxi when her brother Anthony pulled her back. “Hey what’s you’re problem?” Elexa asked in an angry voice. “About earlier, i'm sorry for yelling at you, I know its not you’re fault, so about earlier i’m sorry.” Anthony said pulling his sister into a hug, and then got out of the taxi. Elexa sat there for a moment and then smiled at her brother.
Elexa and Anthony walked into this apartment building that they would now have to call home. “Well maybe its better then what it looks like in our actual apartment.” Elexa said in a un convincing voice. “Yeah and maybe there wont be wholes in the walls like in this hallway.” Anthony said looking at the walls of the wet sour smelling hallway of there new home. The two of them walked slowly up the stairs towards there apartment. When they finally reached there apartment Anthony opened the door and walked into where they would now have to live, Elexa followed after him. They put there suite cases down and looked around. “So this is it, this is our home.” Anthony stated. “Theirs only one bedroom, and there’s only one bathroom.” Elexa said in an upset voice. “What? So I guess this must be our living room and kitchen.” Anthony said in a low voice. “I thought it was going to be a lot bigger.” Elexa said looking around there apartment. “Yeah and I thought it wasn’t going to smell as bad!” Anthony said sitting on his suit case looking around the room. When is our furniture going to get here? Elexa asked her brother, even though she new that he wouldn’t know but wanted to change the subject. “How the hell should I know? Probably soon. So what school are we going to? Anthony asked. “Its called Ashburry High. Its two blocks away.” Elexa said now sitting on her own suite case. Just then there was a knock on there door. Anthony got up and answered it. “yeah we have you’re furniture. A bald man with a pot belly said. “Oh, hey Elexa the movers are hear.” Anthony said to his sister. “We just need you to sign here.” The man said handing Anthony the bill. “250 dollars for you just to bring some furniture?” Anthony asked the pot belly bald man standing before him. “Hey don’t get mad at me I’m just the guy who brings you the furniture, not the person who makes the prices. “sorry, that’s okay, don’t worry its fine.” Elexa interrupted. “Uh huh, so where do you want us to put this couch?” the man asked in an annoyed voice. “Um right over there in that corner. After the moving people left Elexa and Anthony sat on there couch. “We have way to much stuff for this dump!” Anthony stated. “We will just sell some of this stuff, and you know we will have to get a job, right?” Elexa asked her brother. “Yah, yah I think I know that. Do we have any food, I’m starving?” Anthony asked Elexa. In one of these boxes, but then were going to have to look for the dishes.” Elexa replied. “Yah I guess we should un pack soon. Hey we should eat out tonight.” Anthony suggested. “Yea I guess we could do that but first we should un pack some of this stuff.” Elexa reminded. “yah, yah I know.” Anthony said.
