It's October!
Aaahhh! I'm so glad it's a new month. September was murder.
Well, I can't say much has happened lately. Nothing in my personal life at least. It's pretty much dead. But that's okay.
The class has gotten over the fact the teacher was playing with our heads and I think we appreciate it now. Even I've forgiven him.
Found out today that I have shin splints (shin splints are when the muscle on your shins get inflamed, in case you didn't know). So I'm going to have to put ice on it for a while. It's because all that darn running we do. Oh, well.
I'm planning on uploading another picture today. Another collaboration with Sachiko. I like doing these. Special shout-out to Sachiko: Thank you so much!!
Speaking of art...My advanced art class is getting annoying again. My art teacher has a thing against anime. That usually doesn't bother me (either you like it or you don't and that's fine) but my teacher doesn't know anything about it besides what it looks like. He doesn't know the history behind it, the culture, anything. And that's what makes me mad. He's old fashioned. Even if you don't like a style I feel you should still be accuainted with it.
Which leads me to another thing. The kids that sit across from me. They are otakus. So they insist that they're cartoonists and refuse to do anything but. And they keep going on about being "artists." I've always seen being artist sort of like being a samurai. Samurai excelled in a lot things, not just the way of the sword. So I think that if you're going to be a true "artist" you should be able to stretch your skill to other styles. Besides, there are so many styles in anime alone.
And because of them I've become sick of the word "baka."
Sorry for that huge rant. I just needed to get it off my chest.
Is September Over Yet?
Gah!!! This month is so busy! Life is overflowing with homework, projects, and obligations. It's really tiring.
Recap time! Thursday, the day that the teacher was gone for some reason, the class realized during our seminar that he is a classroom dictator. It's hard to explain but basically he's been messing with our heads for three weeks. So we plan on getting back at him sometime. Mess with his head for a change, you know? After school that day, a friend took me to the fair. Same old, same old. For some reason we got really dizzy after the rides. And we only went on four. He thinks we're losing our stomachs.
Yesterday was a friend's birthday so we ate and danced and talked and...moshed. I didn't 'cause I wasn't feeling very well but it was fun to watch.
So now the weekend's rolled around and I still can't get a day off. I have family coming up today so I need to clean the house and lots of homework to do. Not to mention the requests and exam I have next week...I'll be glad to see September gone.
Hope you all aren't quite so busy and that you enjoy the weekend relaxing! Comments (1) |

Homework, Sleep, Eat, Homework, Sleep
That's pretty much my scheduel at the moment (after school of course). Speaking of which, I'm really hungry now.
I submitted a picture just now, if you want to check it out. There'll probably be some others coming soon. I just got a new sketchbook and I have plans for those blank pages....
I've got a 22 page essay to print out and dinner to make so I'll go now. I promise a more interesting post next time around. Comments (3) |

EXCITMENT: *flies out the window*
I thought that Okami was being released today but no. It's coming out on the 20th of this month. Oh, well, it's only two weeks away anyway. Even though I don't have a PS2, I'm excited anyway. It's just sort of deflated now.
School started yesterday and I'm already tired of it. Getting up a 5:45 a.m. feels so weird. But that's not even the worst of it. The school opened only last year and it's like we have another school crammed into ours (about 1800 people over copacity). All available space is now a classroom. They're building additions on the school but the first one won't even be finished until 2008. Ung. The only thing that's really keeping me going is my advanced art class at the end of the day. And even that is a hastle. Comments (1) |

School...so...CLOSE!
Only two or so weeks of freedom and then school will begin. I'm excited though.
Registration was on Tuesday. Went and got all the fees payed and everything. And I only have two books for the first semester! Yes! Last year I had four all year round, which added a LOT of weight to my back. And I'm dying to start my advanced art class!
In our planner they always cram in a bunch of pictures and tips, things most people don't pay much attention to. This year, all the pictures are anime styled. That was a surprise, seeing as it is that usually the school is against anime/manga styled things. And what's this? They're giving in? That's gotta be crossing a line somewhere....
Anyway, moving onto the subject of video games. Seeing that most of you don't know much about Legend of Dragoon, I'll give you a little plot summary. So, the main character, Dart, is returning from an X-number-of-years-long journey to find that his hometown has been sacked and his best friend/love interest has been kidnapped. So it goes from a rescue mission to getting revenge to stopping a war to unraveling the mysteries of the Moon That Never Sets to saving the world. Get all your novel goodness in one game! If any of you get the chance to play it, please check it out. The credit song is beautiful and I included a video so you can listen to it. Spoilers galore--sorry about that. The credit music on this video is another favorite of mine.
I'm Allergic to Nature
Allergies are working up. I go outside and I end up in a sneazing fit. Inside's not so great either. Probably due to dust.
I had this thought and I figured I'd pose it to you guys. You Naruto-fans can fill me in. So. I see a lot of pictures around with an older Hinata with long hair. I know she has short hair now. So is there some place in the manga or anime that shows her with long hair in the future or do people just not like short hair?
All I've done for the past couple of days is read and play Legend of Dragoon. I still think they should make Legend of Dragoon into an anime. It would be awesome.
Have any of you even heard of Legend of Dragoon? I know it wasn't very popular. Comments (1) |

Fake Wings
It's the name of the song I'm listening to right now. Gotta love .hack soundtracks.
Well, not much to report. My grandma had a stroke a little while back. Everyone was worried that it would be a repeat of my grandfather's death (he was her husband). But it turned out she is okay and she's back home. She just has to change her diet and go on some medication for a while.
Otherwise I've been playing Legend of Dragoon a lot. I borrowed it and a PS1 from a friend. The game has a good plot and the backgrounds are nice but the people look so bad. Ah, well.
Oh, something random I found out. Did you all know that "Axel" is an actual name? Learn something new every day. Comments (3) |

Silent Life
"Silent Life" is one of my favorite songs off the first .hack//SIGN soundtrack.
Anyway, long time no see! It's been a while. A lot has happened between July 21 and now.
For starters, the 22nd was my birthday. Most of my family was in the area, due to my grandfather's funeral service, so that was nice (by the way, thank you, everyone, for the well birthday wishes!). At some point I took my friends to the mall. We bought a lot of stuff. We were also able to buy props for our movie. There's still a lot to get though. Last Thursday we went camping. I don't particularly like that sort of thing, so I wasn't all that happy but now we're back. And behold, it's the end of July. The summer's going by so fast!
I submitted a picture for the July conest that's going on. Unfortunately it's really small due to downsizing. But I'm really proud of it and hope to do a male version for kicks later on. If you're interested, please take a look.
Headache....
Well, a lot seems to have happened since the last time I posted. My temporary job that I had finished up yesterday. I'm glad 'cause now I don't have to get up so early in the morning and my employers were really worried about meeting the deadline. But now I don't have an income anymore. Oh well.
Also yesterday we, that is, the family, went and buried my grandfather (the one that died in November). It was a nice little service.
Today I have a birthday party to go to. That'll be fun. And tomorrow, I just realized, is my own birthday. I always seem to forget....
Something random. A friend and I were watching FF7:AC and he tells me that I'm like Yazoo. I wasn't quite sure if I should've taken it as a compliment or not. I'm still not sure. It was funny though.
If any of you are intersted, you should check out the trailers for the video game Okami. It's about the Shinto goddess Amaterasu being reborn as a wolf and having to revitalize nature and bring color back to the world. The graphics are really beautiful. You should check it out. Comments (4) |

Lonely
I just got back from a four day vacation with my relatives. It was fun and I got to see my youngest cousin again. She is a ball of energy. But I suppose most young kids are like that. I seem to be vacationing a lot lately, don't I?
I've come to the conclusion that you won't be seeing much art soon (again [I did this once before when I first joined])due to the fact that I've become unhappy with my style. But I can't consciously change me style. It's a gradual thing so who knows how long this will take. Sorry everyone. Besides, I don't have the money to buy a new sketch book (I'm sort of in debt).
This summer seems to be rather lonely for me here on theOtaku. Last summer, when I first joined, I got to read posts from all the friends I had made but sadly they seem to be absent this year. But that's okay because I've made new friends and they post almost every day now. Gives me something to look forward to. So thanks, guys.
