I AM SO PSYCHED FOR THIS GAME!
Sides, I'm bleached out. I stayed up till 3:30 on Saturda morning reading all the manga, and I've beaten the game. Ganju is horrible. Don't play as him if you can help it.
Kinda in a weird mood tonight. Like, reflective, a little down, a little bored, but a little content. It's hard to explain.
Last night, I was pretty much like an otakuite at their first convention. There was a new Bleach episode out, featuring a new opening. Out of the 5 (good) characters in the opening, one was Renji. Which means he's gonna get some centralized action. I'm not up to date on the manga, but I cheated a little and looked at Wikipedia, so I sorta know what happens up to a certain point. But yeah, last night I was pretty much screaming at anyone who would listen, so sorry for that, people you know who you are.
I beat the Bleach game on Wednesday. Kinda sad now. I'm only unlocking little meaningless things at this point, like school uniforms for some of the characters (although when they go Bankai, they revert back to their Gi. Yeah, I'm talking to you, Hitsugaya!). Grimmjow was pretty scary in the game. The first time I used his bankai-equivalent finisher, it was against Hinamori. He smashed her head into the ground and screamed "I'M GONNA KILL YA! BASTARD!" I felt pretty bad about it. AND IT'S A GAME.
Don't look at me like that, I said I was sorry!
One cool thing about the game is certain characters know when they're about to fight certain other characters. Pretty much everyone knows when they're fighting Aizen. Cept Chad. He's just kinda...meh...to everyone. I did fight as Orihime for the first time. She can heal herself and make a shield for a short period of time that's impenetrable. Pretty sweet, but in general I hated fighting with her.
I bet you'd be happier if you stuck up for yourself once in a while. Dumb bitch.
Byakyuya: Haha, missed, tard.
So yeah, I'd have to say my favorite characters to play as are Hitsugaya, Yachiru,Renji, Shunsui, Ulquiorra, and Urahara. Notice, all have sweet ranged attacks. But I don't like Ishida cause ALL he has are ranged attacks. But his finisher rocks. Yachiru's got some cutsie moves that are fun to play cause, she's got fireworks and stuff when she wins. She also jumps like, 20 feet in the air and bombs the crap outta you screaming "UNCLE KENNY!!!!" Love it.
That's all I really wanted to talk about. Bleach. Workin on some fan art, too. Avatar was hellagood. That beach volleyball episode/Azula trying to be social was comedy gold. Also, as SomeGuy said "The Fire Nation is extremely emo." Cause they are. They're circus freaks too. But they sure know how to crash a party.
Stargate: Atlantis also rocked. Some Alien and Kill Bill 2 recreations. Twas awesome.
"Ahhh, this game cheats! And what the hell is up with this controller? My arm feels like water!"
Just one of the extra sounds you can purchase with your infinite money in Bleach: Shattered Blade.
So I bought this game yesterday (along with my copy of Stephen Colbert's I Am America And So CAn You) and played it about 7 hours today. My arm feels like jello. Is it a good game? Meh. It's about what you'd expect from an anime game. It stays true to the plot, however. I'm very thankful for that. Damn, does it feel good to use Hitsugaya's bankai, as well as loads of other people's. Can't get that two-touch thing of Soi Fon's going, though. That's hard.
Shit, that thing is hard to aim.
Another thing I like about the game is the unedited language. For instance, whenever Renji or Ichigo loose, they scream "Damn iiiiiiiiiit!!!!!!" And when Komamura uses his bankai, he screams "Burn in Hell!"
There's nothing I enjoy more than a giant fox-man telling me what I should do with my blasphemous life.
So anyway, the game play's a bit...wonky. Course, anything with a Wiimote that's not Wii Sports or Cooking Mama is a bit wonky. YOu can only play it for a few hours at a time, and the episode modes are really short. However, the artists did original artwork and story lines for the game which adds a nice bit of originality. As far as fighting games go, it's not that good. However, it is one of the only fighting games currently for the Wii, and seeing as how Brawl was delayed for another 2 months (but YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY, SONIC!), I just went with it and bought this one. As a huge fan of the series, it's pretty cool, but it's not the same as Smash Brothers, Soul Calibur, or any other sweet-ass fighting game you can get on another system. There simply aren't enough controls on a Wiimote.
How can you fuckin loose with this guy? He's a rodent who's super fast and bigger than the Hero of Time. It's just not possible.
Other than that, just reading my Colbert book (that's another thing you can only digest in small chunks, as the humor takes a toll on your brain after a while). But it does make for some good quotes:
"Of course, just because Jesus replaces the Old Testament doesn't mean you should necessarily skip it. That would be like skipping Batman & Robin just because the story starts over in Batman Begins. The important thing to realize is that both the old and the new stories are about an all-powerful being trying to rid the world of evildoers, only in the new one The Batman can eat pork."
"Plus, a whole bunch of magical beings based in different parts of nature? That's not a religion, that's Pokemon. Which shows how Shinto hooks you-once you've prayed to a few spirits, you've 'gotta catch 'em all!'"
Stephen told me to tell you to buy it, as those of us with our own copies are under a contract to not lend it out. This is not a nation of card-carrying library card-carriers, as he would say. There are no free rides. All rides cost money.
It's not really a state record, but I DID finish an essay before 1 AM EST. So good on me. Let's see, since my last post...Bengals didn't win (we have this week off, hopefully to make some new plays), production of a DBZ movie was confirmed, the release date of the Bleach Box Set 1 ($90 retail, but only $62 on Amazon) was confirmed for the end of october, I found out Fox McCloud's super smash was released, and that is the LANDMASTER! Basically, Fox throws a tank in your face.

I'm also excited (though my heart tells me I shouldn't be) about the Bleach Wii game that comes out on Tuesday. 30 characters, all with their own story line, a villain created by the actual Bleach creator, and hack em slash em Wiimote fun.
So in more personal news, turns out my brother and his drinking buddies/roomates have a Wii. So we exchanged console numbers last night, and all they've been sending me are Miis they designed to look like hos, and John Kerry. I don't mind Horse Face so much, but I sent them a message that said "Stop sending me bitches and hos!" They also sent me a Mii modeled after Hitler named Der Fuhrer.
In retaliation I sent them the "HgyHgyHobo" Mii from VG cats I fashioned this morning, and also my latest Wii, Stephen Colbert (who's book comes out Tuesday, Borders Rewards members and Amazon have 40% discounts). I also got bored and made the cast of Stargate Atlantis, but that's for my own personal pleasure.
Miis have never been so much fun. Or creepy in a stalkerish type way.
Anyways, I'll see if I can take some pictures of my more interesting Miis, such as Hiro Nakamura, Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes, Colbert, SG:A-1, and Rock Lee. Seriously though, who doesn't have a Rock Lee Mii at this point? The guy's just so frickin easy.
He's the first image that pops to mind whenever you see those eyes.
So that's about it, I'm going home this weekend for my 4 day (WOOOOOOH, 4 WHOLE DAYS!) Fall Break. Can you tell I'm excited? Going to visit my friend at the University of Maryland and watch their game Saturday. My friend's in the band, so I think I'm going with his family. It'll be fun, though. I hope they play an easier team than the last time I watched one of their games where they got their asses smashed by West Virginia. We'll see how it goes.
I know the Bengals don't play till Monday, but I don't think I'll have time to update Sunday night. I have 200+ pages of Jayne Eyre to read, and that's just for one class. FYI, the Bengals are playing the Pats, and while they probably won't win, I want Carson Palmer to proove he's a better QB than that asswipe Tom Brady suckup guy. Anywho.
TV premiere week was a blast. Special thanks to Schultzie for not watching one, but TWO CSIs with me. Too bad Sara didn't die. Cripes, she's annoying. CSI:NY was predictable, as usual. But Mac has a stalker! Ooooh...
I really like this picture, plus my favorite character is in the hot muscle tee.
Heroes was fun. I got to watch it at my friend's place with his nice tv and sound system. Alias fans, what do you think about Sark being a drunk, samurai? I thought he was great. Poor Hiro, he always gets stuck with the weirdest people. I'm also glad Ando kinda got his own storyline (somewhat), so that he doesn't seem like an appendage of Hiro's. I really like Ando, and I think he's underrated by most people.
Totally pimpin'!
Not bad in samurai armor, but WAY better in a suit.
Sorry for the more material aspects of this post. Switchin it up to Stargate Atlantis and Avatar, my new Fridays! Atlantis is going to kick everyone's ass this year. If you're a 'Gater, and haven't been watching the show(s) recently for whatever reason, you should probably start, you won't be disappointed.
Also the producers said at a panel that if each fan got 5000 of their friends to watch the show live (SciFi channel in the US Fridays at 10), then there'd DEFINITELY be a season 5, which is what I really, really want. Unfortunately I can't watch Numb3rs cause of this, which I like too. If anyone's a fan of that show, can they please explain to me the deal with Colby? I haven't watched it since they shipped off Larry into space.
So other than that, not much happening in Red's world except homework. I don't have a 360, so I've missed out on the Master Cheif fun this week, but I do like that commercial with the classical music and the action figures. Ah, here it is. Just really well done.
Makes me wish I was actually good at 1PSs. Also, saw a little expose on that Lil' Poison kid. The youngest professional gamer, this kid is 9, and kicks people's ass on a regular basis. Jeez, I can't remember anything I did at the age of 9.
Hope everyone has a great week, and GO BANGALS!
Well, i'm sure you're all wondering very adamantly what the new theme is! This, my friends, is Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann! The latest in the world of shounen mech comedy type things! Course, it's been around since Spring, so some of you may have already heard of it, but nethertheless, let me set you up with the opening to give you a slight feel for it.
All in all, beautiful animation, beautiful colors, great story line, interesting characters, great battles...WELL worth your time.
Another new anime I saw was Dennou Coil, which was a mellow, but engaging anime about kind of a combination town/cyber world. Like, there are cyber objects and animals, but no one can see them without glasses. Very different, very cool, and once again beautiful animation and engaging story line. Here's the opening and just a quick few scenes from the first episode or two. It's only 5 minutes, and you might like it.
I hope you guys actually check out these animes, I'm sure you'll be raving about them like I am.
So, other than that, I used basically my entire weekend for anime, Arrested Development, and Stargate Atlantis, of which I finished watching season 3 and am ready for that this week, plus all the other new shows STARTING TONIGHT. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a Heroes Premiere Party to go to. YES, I am actually invited to a party. I don't live in my dorm in front of my computer ALL the time, you know.
Just most of it.
Oh, and a huge, HUGE thank you to Petie who helped me SO much with my HTML today. Thanks pal! I really appreciate it!
I hope everyone has a great start to the week! Ja ne!
Wow, after 3 papers and multiple HW assignments in 2 days, I'm around to update on time today! And a funny song on my satellite radio just kicked in that totally involves Spanish, and jazz flute. I'm ALL THERE.
So I've been steadily chugging through Arrested Development. I knew this show was good, but I had no idea HOW good. It's quickly become my favorite...sitcom? It's not really...comedy, I spose from the past few years, anyway. I probably didn't watch it before, because I don't really watch anything on Fox. No, not even House. On a regular basis anyway. I catch the reruns on USA. But they're all gone now, aren't they?
Hot damn, Foreman, I love you.
Avatar premieres TONIGHT. WATCH IT.
Not much else to say. Classes are going ok. We finally finished Citizen Kane in film class. That movie was good! Although, I don't think many of you youngins would appreciate it.
Well, just wanted to give you all a quick update, before another Tommy Lee-Kid Rock fight breaks out. Course, I'm siding with Kid Rock. He seems like a generally cool guy, and Tommy Lee's an ass, everyone knows it.
Sides, Kid Rock is in the Rockstar video and has a cool wink! Plus, he's got a new song. Course, it's very inappropriate...hehe.
Hope everyone's doing well. Damn, I wish I had something...I dunno, more substantial to say. I guess I'll wait till the weekend for that.
And speaking of weekend, Bengals better score a win. And if you're a Steeler's fan, get out of here. You guys are so conceited, you don't you've lost even when the winners take your terrible towels and bitch slap you in the face with them.
Sorry. Regardless, I'll still be your friend, cause you like football.
No, not really, I quite enjoy september. It's cool, the fall's a comin...my favorite season. Anyways, I'm sure you've all been wondering what I've been up to, apart from watching SG's mythbuster videos of Adam lighting his farts on fire.
Just school, pretty much. Although, I'm skipping Chinese today, from a combo of not feeling that well and TOTALLY forgetting to do my homework. Meh, it happens. I won't skip again for a while. I usually don't skip. Anywho.
Anime-wise, I completed my collection of Samurai 7 (finally) and was a little disheartened at the ending. I won't tell you what happens, as I HATE spoilers. Some dickwad in the club TOTALLY spoiled Death Note for me. I screamed at him in front of the rest of the club, and called him an asshole. A little un-becoming of the Vice Pres, but seriously, as fellow anime nerds, he should know better. Course, he's a stupid asshole.
He hasn't been back.
I also picked up S1 of Get Backers, which I immensely enjoy and now immensely immerse myself in the fanfiction, haha.
I watched the Bleach movie last night. Laaaaame. Don't get me wrong, the animation was really nicely done, and it wasn't too bad considering it was filler, but nowhere NEAR enough Renji, and a lame reason for deciding why none of the new OCs are in the series (Rukia: We will have no memory of this, because it was not supposed to exist in the first place! Ichigo: Oh noes! Oh well! I will be sad for a few minutes untils I forgets!)
Here's a little diddy for all you fellow Narnia fans, as the Prince Caspian poster was released yesterday. I had no idea it came out in May, did you?
Avatar premieres this week! WATCH IT.
If I start updating more (2 or 3 times a week, perhaps) do you guys care enough to want the movie quote thing back? Cause I'll do it if you do. Or maybe just upgrade to movie trivia? You let me know.
In the meantime, hope everyone's doing well for themselves! I'm also looking for Wii friends, so if you have a Wii, and wanna be buddies or whatever, let me know and maybe we can exchange fluids-I mean, console numbers. Peace out, everyone!
So after a week of no internet access and a sloppy, lazy-ass school IT team that didn't help me in the SLIGHTEST, I'm back in biz.
Things I've changed about myself since you last heard from me:
1. I'm now an English major and have sworn off the Spanish department.
2. I am taking Chinese, and Wo jiao Ge Aili (that's my Chinese name) and wo zai CNU xuexu Hanyu. Yeah, bitches.
3. There's a mouse that lives in our dorm kitchen. It's name is Roger. I didn't pick it.
4. I have a Wii. And am a Wii surgeon on Trauma Center. I have the Healing Touch!
5. All my shows start the week of the 24th. I will watch them in this order:
HeroesCSIMiamiCSYNYCSIStargateAtlantis. On a side note, Atlantis is gonna have Kaylee from Firefly!
That's it until I get a better update going. Hope everyone's just peachy!
Well, for those of you who don't know, I just got back from Costa Rica on monday. I was attending a two week class for school there, where we learned about the country and toured all over the place. It was really fun. I did everything from horseback riding to zipline-ing over two miles of lines, to seeing wild crocodiles up close! Here's a short video I took of one:
If you'd like to see more scenery pics, you can visit my DA page, there's a link in my intro. There's a good picture of the croc that's there too.
I had a great time, and I really learned alot about the country and the culture. Now I have to write a paper about it. But on to less boring things.
I missed alot over the two weeks, the least of which were POTC3 (saw it yesterday) and a bunch of season finales. I saw the CSI:NY one, but not Heroes yet. Lemme just say, the CSI:NY one rocked, because how many times to you see coroners hold Irish drug lords hostage with bone saws? Yeah, my thoughts exactly.
Yup, this guy right here. Held a bone saw to a guy's neck. It was great.
That was probably the best episode of any CSI I've ever seen. Not necessarily in terms of story, but in terms of sheer ridiculous action. I mean, Gary Sinese rigged a bomb to explode off some guy, and he's supposed to be an ex-marine cop for Pete's sake!
What it essentially boils down to is you don't fuck with Lt. Dan in any form.
Other than that, I bought and watched all of Season 2 of the Venture Brothers. The episode where they meet the crazy Scooby Doo gang (er, Groovy Doo) and Fred basically keeps Daphne locked in a box, Velma's a lesbian, and Shaggy is high and as got some brain damage was one of my favs. Course, the one where they find crazy, old Johnny Quest in a submarine was neat too.
That's some of the DVD art right there. Classic stuff.
I also saw Timberwolf won the Guru contest, which is pretty cool. She had a really nice lookin quiz, although i admit I had no idea what it was in reference to. So, kudos to her, that's a totally sweet prize she got. I didn't really expect mine to win, as it was awfully one sided (I think like, 50% of people get "You are Chad and his Inability to Show Emotion"), so I'll try to avoid that in the future. Course, I just like my quiz cause I think it's funny, and cause it'd doesn't ask the farkin' color question, and doesn't give all emoticons as answers for some categories. I can tell you write now, if your quiz banks on emoticons, colors, or has a question saying "did you like this quiz", I will not only refuse to take it, I will hit you over the skull with your sorry ass excuse for keyboard.
Consider yourself warned.
More about Costa Rica later, as SomeGuy's traveling posts put me to shame...
Well, hope everyone's doing well. If you're outta school, kudos, if you're not, good luck in exams and the like. Take it easy, everybody!
