I don't think I have enough room in my car for all my crap. It's two thirds full already. All I have left is one of the back seats and the front seat. I don't think my shit's gonna fit. Craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap.
In other news, I'm TOTALLY caught up in the Nartuo manga. And can I just say Konohamaru has the best jutsu ever. Observe:
So, Sakura complains that won't distract anybody to which Konhamaru promptly comes up with this little diddy:
Hahaha, I LOVE it. Don't flame me, yaoi-haters, it's cannon! Hehe.
So anyways, just wanted to share that with everyone. I'll do a better update when I get home, finals and packing has worn me out.
So the reason I haven't posted as much in the past few weeks was cause I had some finals, and papers. i only have one final left, and that's wednesday morning in biology, then I can chillax, pack up and go home.
In the meantime, i've been on such a Naruto Shippuden kick, I even started reading the manga. I LOVE Sakura now that she kicks ass and take names. I used to hate her. Actually, when I watch all the old episodes, I still hate her. Out of all the people in the series so far (besides Naruto) she's changed the most, and it's definitely for the better. Also, Kakashi learned a new trick with his sharingan and blew apart someone's arm. That was pretty frickin fantastic.
Speaking of frickin fantastic, how about Heroes? Man oh man, what a mindfuck! All I can say was, it's nice Mohinder finally did something right. And poor future Hiro, loosing his best friend Ando! It's like in the Justice League episode where they loose Flash and they all become evil Justice Lords...is kind of what that reminded me of. And evil scarred Peter was HOT.
Oh, and fuckin Parkman? The hell's your problem, Professor X? You have BETRAYED me, and I will never look at you the same again!
Not much else goin on in other news. Just studying...
AND ANXIOUSLY AWAITING THE START OF THE SUMMER OF THREESOMES WITH SPIDERMAN 3!
Then after that, it's Shrek 3, Pirates of the Carribean 3, The Bourne Ultimatum...
Probably gonna skip Rush Hour 3...no not probably, I WILL be skipping Rush Hour 3. I suggest the rest of you should, too. Toodles!
Well, I've been having trouble sleeping. Which is why I'm writing this post. I actually got into bed last night at 2 am, and didn't fall asleep till sometime after 4. I had to watch videos on my iPod. As a result, I slept through my alarm and missed my Spanish class. Which was a problem, because there was an exam review. In HS, this kinda thing was ok, cause my mom would shout into my room to make sure I was up. Not so in college, kids. And don't be one of those kids that has your parents call them to wake them up. Sheesh. The thing I hated those, was my roomate came in at 10:40 (class was at 10, I had another one at 11) which woke me up. She didn't even say anything, just kinda went about her usual business. Even when I was like "shitshitshitshitshitshitshit" and running in and out of rooms. Nada. I get ignored by my suite mates alot, but I'm kinda used to it by now. I know people who care about me elsewhere, so it's not really a big deal anymore. It really grated on my nerves last semester, but now I don't care much anymore. In fact, i like to pretend that the reason one of my suite mates hangs around my roommate so much, is because secretly she's a closet lesbian who's in love with my roommate, and now that my roommate has an uber-serious boyfriend (she was looking at a bridal magazine last week. I mean, sheesh, she's 19), the suite mate is trying to get close to her at every opportunity. I mean, she makes my roomate an oragami animal everyday and helps her with her homework. Awwww. NOT.
I know my suite mate's not really a lesbian, but it's an entertaining thought. Just cause I like imagine that somewhere down the road, my suitemate will be like "[roommate's name], I've been secretly in love with for all of college! That's why I never had a boyfriend, and that's why I have no other friends! (which is true enough). I know you'll be happy with [roommate's BF's name], but I just wanted you to know..."
"The hell?"
Haha, I don't know why that's so entertaining to me. I guess cause I think it would be funny. My roommate's uber-emotional too, so it would be like a sob-angst fest, lol.
In anime-related news, I watched 6 episodes of Mushishi today. Generally I don't really go for anime like that (lots of talky, emotional bits) but Mushishi's really great. It's a great story, plus it's just beautiful to watch and the music's beautiful too. It's a nice break from my generic action anime *cough*NarutoBleachFullmetalPanic*cough*
But people should definitely check it out. Especially if you like anime like Kino's Journey. (which was good, but not really for me).
Oh, and it's about this guy that kinda goes around after these supernatural beings that usually end up causing people suffering. It's a little hard to explain, but once you watch 2 or 3 eps you get the gist of it.
Hope everyone has a good Thursday. Also, thanks for all your well-wishes from Monday. If anyone's on Facebook, there's a group to stop this hateful church from picketing at the fallen students funerals (they think god kills soldiers because he hates homosexuals or some equally ridiculous shit) because they think higher learning goes against god, so he hates students (told you these people were ridiculous). Anyways, if you do a search for it on Facebook, please join it, as there's a petition involved. And the last thing they need in Blacksburg is these people in their faces.
I don't know if many of you know this, but I am actually a college student attending a public university in Virginia. I do not attend Virginia Tech, but I have many friends that do, as a lot of kids from my High School went there. Most college students in VA know at least one person that goes to any university here.
When the news broke out, it made for some very tense hours filled with anxiety at all Virginia campuses. As I said before, most of us have friends at other schools, and I contacted everyone I knew at Tech to make sure they were alright. Luckily, no one I know was hurt. One of my good friend's professor's was shot, and maybe killed. I did not press her for answers, as she's probably in grief with the rest of her campus, Virginia, and the US. I can't even begin to imagine what these students are going through, on top of all the added anxieties of college. I'm sure most people can't.
We were informed by our own school that the state police had informed all other colleges that the Virginia Tech shooting was an isolated incident, and that no other schools were in danger. However, most students here were concerned with making sure our friends were ok. A girl in my sociology class was making frantic calls the 15 minutes before class, and luckily she heard her friend was ok by the time class started. On campus today, we had both a prayer, and a question and answer session. As I had class and club obligations, I could not attend either, but my heart still goes out to my friends at Tech, and the friends and families of anyone there.
I hope this incident does not decrease enrollment at VA Tech, as it is a great school. It's one of the best in not only the state, but the nation. This incident could have happened anywhere, and I think it's important to remember that. If anyone on this site is applying for college, and Tech was one of your options, please do not let this dissuade you, as it is still a fantastic school.
Not to mention, it makes for some great football.
There will probably be repercussions for all VA campuses from this, resulting in increased security. Which would actually be a plus on our campus, since the RAs don't seem to take their jobs too seriously.
Anyways, after about 6 hours straight of listening to the same things over and over on CNN Radio (they had Larry King interview Dr. Phil...who does that?) I watched some Dane Cook and Fullmetal Panic to cheer me up. I wish there was more Kurz fanfiction though...
I also wanna say thanks to Duorocks (aka. Nami-chan) for checkin in on me, and ColorMeEvil for sending me some awesome Mega 64 videos. This Paperboy one's actually my favorite, because I loved that game as a kid...
There are not many developments in the VA Tech case, but I'm sure we'll all be filled in soon enough. Once again, my thoughts and hearts go out to the friends and families of the Hokies.
Hope everyone had a good weekend! I know I did! I saw Naruto Shippuden 8-9 AND new stargate! It was quite pleasurable.
Also, I had my first weird ass dream in a long while! *spoilers for Bleach Soul Society Arc*
It started out with trying to figure out how to climb a high tree, and then get into some like, treetop village. Like ewoks, or wookies have. So I pulled out my tamagatchi, used it to magically warp myself in the tree, and met Donkey Kong. Once I was back on the ground, I went to a friend's house to wash up. When I came out of the bathroom, I was Renji, and me and Ichigo were kidnapped by Aizen. He did very scary medical experiments on me/Renji, and ended up putting a hole in my/Renji's arm, and I/Renji couldn't move until Ichigo broke free and saved me/Renji. Then I realized I was watching it all on tv. But it was still hot. *end spoiler*
So there you have it.
As for Shippuden, if you're not watching, you should be. Poor Kankuro! I always thought he wore that paint on his face cause he was ugly, but he actually doesn't look bad. I'd choose him over Gaara, I spose. Those puppets still vreep me out, though.
Not much else. It rained this weekend. It flooded. I stayed inside and watched Batman Begins.
I'm not really in a mood for writing. More tomorrow, I promise. Bye!
Man, good thing I changed my theme yesterday, cause Bleach 121 was ROCKIN! Yeah, it was a pretty awesome battle finisher. And we got to see Tousen's new schtick!
Other than that, there were new openings and closeings (both of which I approve of, espceially the end cause it had everyone in "normal" clothes), and the animation looked not only different, but better. It was like they put more effort into little subtilties like breathing, movement, and some newer angles, especially when Grimmjow was beatin on Ichigo. I do not like that guy. At least Renji's ok, he's my fav! He had an awesome finisher, but he almost didn't make it.
Nothin much else happened. Watched a new CSI. It was pretty cool, cause it was all from the point of view of the "Lab Rats" and had this funny scene in which all the good shit happened to Hodges. I liked it alot. AND they found the connection between the miniatures, which oddly enough was BLEACH, which I was watching between commercial breaks. haha, it's all relative. So anyways, if you're not caught up on Bleach (*cough*SOMEGUY*cough) you should really get your ass in gear. Especially when people start cosplaying Arrancar and you're left in the dark. But the new opening was cool cause you get to see an upgrade of some people's powers, like Chad's and Ishida's.
Oh, and thank you Darke, once again for your gift art. I love it!
New Naruto aired tonight in Japan. I think it was a special 1-hour episode. So that means the fansubs will probably be around in a few days. I look forward to that as well, as I want to see what happens to Kankuro. And Gaara, of course. What a kid, that Gaara. Also, I want to see some other shinobi post-time gap! Kiba and huge-ass Akamaru anyone?
I played Akamaru in a PS2 version of a Naruto game (I forget which one, there's so many) against 3 guys that have played before, one of which owned the game, and kept kicking all their asses. Akamaru by himself is so small, he's like impossible to hit. So, there's a pointer if any of you play those Naruto games...they're almost as numerous as DBZ games.
Also, elections are next week for our anime club. Me and another girl are both running for secretary and VP, so if one gets one position, the other one can have the other. I personally want the position of VP, because the pres is pretty passive aggressive and needs someone to boss him around, which I think I can do pretty well. Also the other girl, while she's one of my good friends, is very shy and quiet, so I don't know how well she could do that. But anyways, wish me luck!
Hope everyone has an AWESOME Friday, I know I will, as it's THE RETURN OF STARGATE! I watched two episodes today to prepare and hung around a fansite for a while. Toodles!
Could you guess? I bet you could if you tried really, really hard!
Haha, jk. I know you guys couldn't guess the theme. I'm not sure what it is myself.
Um, anyways...I watched Apocalypto today for Spanish class. It's a pretty good movie, full of action, but very, very bloody. And also very historically inaccurate. I'm a Spanish major, and I'm taking a Latin American Culture class this semester, so we've talked about specifics. I won't bore you with details. Suffice to say the Mayans weren't obsessed with human sacrifice like they're portrayed to be in the movie. They were probably the most advanced culture in the western hemisphere at the time. Um, if you want more specific details, I guess you can Wiki, or PM me, or leave a comment...if you care that much. But anyways, it's a bit long for some people (two hours), but I thought it was pretty cool. Especially when a jaguar ripped a guy's face off. There were some weird points, though of course. The main dude, Jaguar Paw, got shot with arrows 2 or 3 times and kept on truckin. We were all saying he was like Rambo of the jungle. Or something. He also jumped off a waterfall.
I'm also working on another quiz. I'll probably submit it tomorrow at some point. I have fun making them! Also, I like to use silly ideas. But I won't tell you what I'm doing yet!
Hmm, any other interesting news from today? Mmmmmmm, nope, not really. Although, I did get my first AnimeUSA Con newsletter of the year which is somewhat exciting. They're moving out of Tysons in Northern VA to Arlington. I hung out with Vicky last year, and it'd be cool to meet other Otaku who are going, like SomeGuy did at SakuraCon. Also, I FULLY INTEND to attend the Bleach photshoot this year as Renji. I got trapped in the really bad cosplay show last year and couldn't escape. -_-;
Oh yeah! I learned two new things this week! First, ever wonder why anime always has like, J-Pop songs as openings and endings? (If you already know, don't say anything! This is my special time!) It's cause since there are less commercials, artists don't get as much advertising space as they do in other countries, so their songs get advertised during the show!
The other thing I learned is what Yaoi stands for. No, it's not the sound that is made, like certain people on a certain Otaku podcast seem to think, lol. It stands for YAmanashi-Ochinashi-Iminashi, or "No climax, no conclusion, no meaning, but only a never-ending description of homosexual intercourse". I'm not sure if that description part is part of the definition, but it was in the article I have, and it sounds reasonable. There, I betcha didn't know that!
Hope everyone has a good Thursday! Ooh, that reminds me, new CSI tonight! Will they catch the Miniature Killer? Will Sarah stop having dopey love scenes with Grissom? WHO KNOWS?
So I ordered these bumberstickers about a month and a half ago, and they finally got here today! So of course, I got pics!
From Spaceballs.
I guess there's some people who think it's too geeky to ride around with geek bumperstickers in public...
Speaking of which, I'm also looking into getting a Harry Potter license plate. Probably "GRFNDR7", even though I was proud of my ridiculous spelling for "Exspelliarmus" as "XSPLRMS". "FAWKES7" is good, too. I dunno, choices that didn't have numbers were limited. Although, no one in Virginia has "PTRNUS"
So let's see, some anime I've gotten into since I last posted...
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya! Most excellent! I downloaded all that music including that fake, tone death song they made for their "movie". It's so ridiculous, but it's one of the things I play "loud and proud" in the car. My other otaku friends think it's ridiculously funny.
Oh, I don't think I've really introduced my car, since I've been away so long. It's a red Toyota Rav-4, 2006, and it still smells new, and i keep he inside DEATHLY clean, which is more than I do for most other things I own. It's hard to keep the outside clean, cause there's so much pollen down here, it tends to turn yellow. Anyways, it's name is FIREFLY, both because it's red, and as homage to the show.
Anyway, the other anime I really got into was Fullmetal Panic. We're watching it now in the club, and I love it! I'm normally not into mecha stuff, but they do a good job of blending alot of things in the show. I've seen a few eps of Fumoffu before, but I like the original much better.
I also picked up a Korean manga in the book store, just cause it had a pretty cover (I'm a sucker for shit like that) called Chun Rhang Yhur Jhun...the Korean names are a little hard to keep straigh, but it's basically a historical epic action manga, so you know, it's got allusions to actual figures in Korean history. If you're looking to get into manga that's not Japanese, this is a good place to start. Or if you're looking to pick up another historical epic action manga...
(See, I told you, isn't the cover pretty?)
Other than that, I've just been doing school work. And making fanart and quizzes. I made those quizzes before I found out there was a contest, lol. I didn't realize the format was new either, cause I've never submitted a quiz before. So I was going through and was like "Wow, this is such a nice format. Why did I never do this before?" well, now I know. And it is a beautiful job of formatting. So, run along children, and make quizzes!
That's right! I actually uploaded fan art for the first time in about a year and a half on the site, and you can see the improvements, if I do say so myself.
I also made my first quizzes over the weekend, the first one being "What Zelda Weapon Are You?" I had fun making it, so last night/this morning, I made another one called "What Bleach Character and Their Personality Problem Are You?" course, I could only fit in "Personality Problem", but it's in the category of Bleach, so I'm sure you'll find it. Unfortunately, I could only make 6 results. Also, the jokes are more for older kids and adults, so I think alot of the youngins (no offense, kids) might not get it, because they kinda expect more of a "What Character Are You?". The quiz really isn't to gauge your personality, but it's more to make fun of the show. I mean, I think it's funny, and a few others I've shown it to think it's funny, but judging by the accuracy (approval) rate, it's obvious there's alot of people that don't really get it.
So anyways, I uplaoded two SamCham fanarts I've had sitting around for a while, and two Renji bankai fanart's that I actually made in two days. I was on a real Renji kick, I spose. If you want to see more of my art that's not anime-related, feel free to check out my DeviantArt site. I think there's a list in my intro.
I'm also very excited, as this Friday marks new Stargate Episodes since like, early November. I'm basically throwing my social life away once again to be in the presence of hot men and kick-ass aliens for two hours every Friday night.
Nothing much else going on, except school. Although my anime vampire paper is coming along very nicely. I ended up writing about 3 pages on Hellsing alone. Still got more to write about Blood+ and Vampire Hunter D, and maybe a smidgen of Vampire Princess Miyu or whatever her name is.
Hope everyone had a good weekend (or Easter if you celebrate it. I...don't anymore).
I scratched one thing off my "Things to Do Before I Die" list, and that's jet ski! Holy crap, those things are not like the arcade rides they have at ESPN zone. I had 6 foot swells in some places and the wave runner would go shooting over them and land six feet with a smack. If I was a dude, my balls would have been hurtin. My arms were hurting from a death grip and the wave runner dropping at random intervals and me holding on. I tried standing at first but eventually moved to sitting, even though my board shorts road up. It was kinda scary, but LOADS of fun! It was only the tour guide and me, so it wasn't bad at all. Those things go fast, too. I also got a lot of salt water in my eyes. The tour guide told me that all the celebs stay in Canille Bay, and currently Michael J. Fox is on the island. I haven't seen him yet, though, hehe.
Also the other day we went on a 2 hour trip on a boat to a site for snorkiling. I saw some cool fish and sea urchins, but it wasn't that great a site, I thought. Later when we were on the open water, I DID see a sea turtle though, that was about 3 feet long. It just looked like a green mass, but it was still pretty damn cool.
Other than that, I'm just sunburned in a few places and have finished my Star Wars books (sooooooo good, why didn't my friends tell me about these earlier?!?!)
