   More standardized testing?
Ah, yes, today was the essay portion of the Virginia Standards of Learning. I had so much fun writing it though! The prompt was "If you could make a rule that everyone had to follow, what would it be?" My rule was everyone needed to be polite. My first paragraph covered politeness in school. Here's an excerpt:

"In school, you will be walking behind someone one second, and the next thing you know, your face is firmly planted into their backpack because they didn't have the courtesy to move over to talk to their friends. Lack of courtesy is the number one cause of nose injuries."

Yes, I actually wrote that. Here's another:

"On the homefront, when someone orders me to wash the dishes instead of asking politely, I feel extreme bitterness towards my kinsman."

And another:

"On the bus, since the ride is not that long anyway, you should give up your seat to an elderly person. The number one cause of bus injuries is elderly people falling on top of someone because they did not have a place to sit. It is a shame that through lack of courtesy, we cannot eliminate this problem all together."

And so on and so forth, until in the last paragraph I mentioned "All the afore mentioned incidents have happened to me."

If you take this approach to YOUR standardized tests, you too can have a great time instead of a boring one.

TIGRESS' FANTASTICAL MOVIE QUOTE
Uh, sorry, the quote yesterday was from Kingpin.

"I need a miracle."
"DID I HEAR SOMEONE ASK FOR A MIRACLE? LET ME HEAR YA SAY 'I'!"
"AYEEEEEE!"
"That's close enough. Have no fear, [name]. Your salvation is at hand."

Ciao, folks!
