"Pen, Paper and a Pyromaniac Leprechaun"
I really like drawing, especially doing character designs. The only problem with me is that everything's so hit and miss, one day I'll do a REALLY good one, then in the next I'll ruin 5 attempts in as many minutes. The amount of paper I go through in trying to do one successful design, is, well, irritating. When I look through old books and piles of paper in my room, it's also quite intersting to look at the differences in style. When I started off, it was really simplistic DBZ/Pokemon style stuff. Then there were more detailed renditions of DBZ/DBZ-ish characters, in which I did a lot of the detail and shading in biro. In several attempts I got to a point where I'd messed up a good drawing with over shading. My recent ones have adopted the opproach of outlining and detailing in biro, and shading slightly in biro, but mostly with colour pencils. In my latest I've tried to avoid shading in pen completely, other than wrinkles in clothing. This approach worked very well with the face, and, once the shading on the body is finished, which shouldn't take long, I'll add it to the other two.
