A long time ago, in a galaxy not-so far away...
...a 16-year old Englishman named Alex stopped writing in his MyOtaku. Today, he has returned...

OK, when I said 'a lot has happened since January', the majority of that 'lot' was over about 6 weeks in the Summer. Before then, however, I became 17. A rather dull birthday compared to the 16th that precedes it and the 18th that follows. Oh well.

When the time for my AS exams came, all was going reasonably well until i accidentally went in a day late for my Chemistry exams. So I inevitably got a U in that, though my teacher has allowed me to continue on to A2 this year so long as I resit the AS in January. What fun, eh?

Anyway, onto the big 6/7 weeks mentioned earlier. I probably haven't mentioned that I'm a Christian before, so - hello, I'm a Christian. Wanna hug?... Anyway, I digress. Here's a 'lil breakdown;
Week 1: I helped out at a youth event at my Church, 'Wicked Week'. OK, so I've done it for the last 3 years now, nothing special in the grand scheme of things. But still, it was good to just... umm... do stuff. Yeah, rock on.
Week 2: Left (with my family) for another Christian thing, a big conference called 'New Wine'. Again, it's a 4-year thing, so nothing out of the ordinary for my summer. But still, it was great just to spend time with some friends I hadn't seen in quite a while, before the next big thing...
Week 3-5: Possibly.. no, definitely, the best part of my Summer, this. Another Christian thing (big surprise), where I went on a 3-week mission to Burkina Faso, 4th poorest country in the world, with 14 others from my youth group. I've gone into it in relative detail on too many occassions to do it again here, but needless to say - it was awesome!
Week 6: Back to the UK, stayed at home for 1 day, then went off to another Christian conference, in the same place as Week 2. Difference is that this is just for young people, not families. 7 of us who'd been to Africa went, along with some of the youth group who hadn't, so it was a good chance to chill out and catch up. All good fun.

Well, there's your brief summary. There'll be some things in the latter 4 weeks that I'll go into more detail about, relating to particular things and... umm... people, later. 'Til then.
