Q Vacation
I think I have officially found something I enjoy more than Yaoi.

A few weekends back the QQQ went to Gearhart, Oregon for our vacation. It was the first time all 8 of us were together. In 2008 no less. We made the trip in a little over an hour and ended up at the beach at about noon. It was so foggy that we couldn't see that ocean but we could hear its roar and smell the sea salt. It was almost eerie... there was no wind just silence and fog for miles. People disappeared into it about fifty feet from where we stood in all directions. It was like a dream.

After the fog began to clear we headed back to the beach house to settle in and went into town to pick up necessities and the like. Of course, we couldn't have a bonfire on the beach until it was dark so we had nearly six hours to kill.

My friends Chris, Jenni, Alex and Fari accompanied me on a 4 mile hike on the Tillamook Head in Seaside, Oregon. It was majestic... the woods were silent and air was mild. We didn't even manage to work up a sweat. It took us three hours to get nearly to the top but as we were within a stones throw of the most beautiful view I anticipated ever seeing we got a phone call from those we'd left behind at the Beach house (they didn't want to go with us.... losers) they told us that the adults we getting positively plastered and were either hitting on our only minor or threatening to kill him... so we regretfully turned back and returned to the Beach house.

It was about dark then and so the 8 of us loaded up Jenni's car with wood and drove it to the edge of the beach and made a bonfire with which we roasted hotdogs and marshmallows and just sat and listened to music and talked.

The wind had picked up so much that we had to shout over the music and the sky cleared just long enough for the sun to set. It was amazing. We spent a good four hours sitting next to our fire on the beach and enjoying the company.

It was more fun than I'd ever had in my entire life. More fun than my first Anime Convention or my Grad Party at my high school. It made me sad to climb into the car and leave Gearhart behind.

Luckily, we're returning in just a few weeks to finish our hike and this time we get the Beach house to ourselves... which means no impossibly drunk parents or passed out adults to worry about. Nope. None at all.

Happy V-Day
Happy Valentines Day ya'll....

Lets all share V-Day stories:

I worked an opening shift at my job, 8am was the time, Kohl's was the place. About four hours into my shift... right before I took my lunch we started to smell SMOKE in the building. Around customer service and in various other areas of the store. We couldn't tell where it was coming from and our LP Supervisor took it as a signal to call 911... four fire trucks responded. We had like the entire Happy Valley Fire House out on location at my work.

Smoke was getting steadily easier to smell and customers were starting to notice it and STILL we couldn't figure out where it was coming from. It was then that the Customer Service Assosciate got suddenly VERY ill from the smoke inhalation and with much fussing over whether or not she had been examined by the firemen was WHISKED away to the nearest hospital she could go to for our Workmans Comp program

I have no idea where that is.

around this time the firemen are up checking the roof, poking in and out of random nooks and crannies. securing our fuse boxes and electric rooms. Our LP Super is making sure all the floor assosciates are repeatedly checking key areas in the store (garbage cans, fitting rooms, corners, boxes) anything that could have been lit on fire to cause the smoke in the ventilation system.

By now customers are being kept from entering the store in case we needed to evacuate and amidst all the worry and chaos.... the STORE MANAGER who is on vacation... calls in to find out what the hell is going on.

He is immediately put on hold and the supervisor who answered the call comes on the walkie and harasses that crap out of our manager on duty and our LP Super to find out what to tell him. It was suggested that she just tell him the store was on fire and put him back on hold until a further break in the situation was made. In the end the LP Super decided to take the call and explain it to him while the firemen poked around some more.

It was passed off as a malfunction of our heating unit that was putting smoke into the air conditioning system and an expert at another store was called in to fix it.

Of course, that involves TURNING IT OFF.. which means the store was a toasty FORTY DEGREES for a good 3 1/2 hours.

Happy Valentines Day... Your turn ^^

No-Nos
This is like... my first post on here? Wow... I am a lazy human being >.<

Anyhow.

The subject for today is 'no-nos' as in.... things that should not have been done.

My family is not exactly well endowed in the money department but for whatever reason... we spend it anyway.

I bought a Sony PSP. 180 bucks on a handheld.... all for a single game. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. Epic. I am a huge Zack fan.... yeah.... I am.

My cousin bought a Playstation 3.... she got stern looks from those we told. Oh well. Lots of moneyz

My GRANDPARENTS on the other hand.... they did something OUTRAGEOUS in the 'spending money' department. They bought a Brand New 2008 Buick Enclave CXL.
We now owe 20,000 DOLLARS. Oh yes. Trade up the piece of crap van that we PAID OFF for something newer and better that will be a piece of crap in a few years.

See... my grandfather doesn't exactly... umm.... stop before he changes gears. I think that is something you are SUPPOSED to do. Primary example of this: Backing out of the driveway. He gets into the road and drops it into Drive right of the bat. Without stopping. Holy CRAP!
