Wolf's Rain 2 Chapter 1 Escaping the Lab Part 3

The time she laid there on the ground felt like an eternity. The snow seemed so peaceful next to the road. The structure behind her had no one come out to search for the wolf. With this, even the giant base didn't ruin this one spot. They were like two different worlds clashing at their edges. When she almost fell asleep, she felt water on her snout. As she looked up, snow started to fall from the grey and seemingly dead sky. It felt cooling against her over-heated, aching body. The snow against her scarred eye socket made all the pains from long ago dissappear for that brief amount of time in the wolf's life. As she slept, painless and peaceful for the first time in so long, she felt like she laid there forever....
A gunshot woke her. At the top of the remains of the broken wall, a guard started to aim at her with a gun. Instead of dodging bullets, she ran into the woods behind her. as the guard stopped swaring, another guard ran up the remains and showed a necklace to him. The wolf's eyes widened in a trembling horror. My necklace! she thought.
