   Yay!
Whooo! The workbench in the garage is now clean! I can now work on 3-D projects to my heart's content. Plus, I hit the jack-pot while cleaning. First, I found a lovely packet of unwanted needle files. That made me very happy, as I got to adopt them. Next, I found this box of rotary bits, and practically jumped to the ceiling with joy. Then, my step-dad was like, "Oh, we have a rotary tool, too" and pulled out this toolbox with it in it. Well, that was it. No words, actions, or comic sight gags could possibly express my joy. A little while after that, we made space in one of the cabinets for my own toolbox full of soldering equipment. *squeal* I'm just a third-hand and some pickeling equipment away from my own fricken art studio. Oh, and a ring sizer. I should get own of those... Oh, and a metal cutter. I need that too. And some rods and glass for glass beads. And a kiln. I can ask Grandma if she's got any small ones that she doesn't use anymore. Hmmm, I gotta get working on that...

Anyway, after the garage was all nice and organized, we talked about what to do with the drafting table. My step-dad asked what was wrong with putting it in the basement and my Mom and I said that it was too dark down there. After all that, I went to go clean up my room some and they went to go disassemble the old pinball machine in the basement so that they could take it back to my uncle's house (we were storing it for him). Later, I got called to the basement and it turns out they had rigged up a brand new hallogen light and set up the table with a really cool swivel chair for me. Yay! Swivel! *cough* I mean, Yay! Drafting table! *does super happy drafting table dance* Haha, no space heaters in the garage for me! *falls over from happiness exhaustion* Pwheeew! I'm all happied out. I love having a creative space appreciating family. It's probably because they're all so crafty. My step-dad is a real handy-man type. He can do all sorts of minor carpentry and mechanics. My mom loves to do scrapbooking and make cards. She's practically got her own studio too in the basement. I haven't bought a birthday, holiday, or thank you card in years. She would probably kill me if I did ^_^ My mom's step-mom, Jeanie, paints, crochet's, sews, quilts, and cross-stiches. She made the quilt that on my bed right now actually. And my dad's mom, Gloria, makes porcelain dolls and embroiders (I learned how, too! It's fun ^_^) She made almost every doll on my bookcase, plus she sewed the clothing, painted their faces, and intalled their eyes and wigs. So cool. I got to make a doll once at her house too. Fun! But yeah. The funny thing is that you might never have known these people were artistic at all if you just met them. Jeanie was a house-wife, Gloria was a real estate agent, and my mom is a computer programmer. Crazy people.

   Maybe It's A Sign...
So, upon moving my roller skates that in turn got caught on a cord that moved across my desk and caused a cascade of books and colored pencils to fall to the floor, I realized that it would probably be a good time to clean my room. But that will have to wait, because I told my step-dad that this week-end we are going to clean out the garage so that I can finally get my own spot on the workbench for my soldering stuff. Not to mention cleaning up what used to be the old garage and making space for the drafting table. Weeeee! Drafting table! *hehe* My room is way too small and there's really no other place to put it, so out there it goes. *does happy drafting table dance*

Oh, and has anyone heard of the manga 666Satan? Besides the rather evil name, this mange also has a rather interesting surprise. It's mangaka is none other than Kishimoto Seishi, the younger twin brother of Naruto mangaka Kishimoto Masashi. And boy does it show. 666Satan is like the dark twin brother manga of Naruto, in both character design, art style, and story. Did you know that the number 666 is actually a representation for the crazy Roman emperor, Nero. Some kind of Jewish numeric representation thingy. Also, the name "Satan" means adversary, and in the Old Testament, Satan did not seem to be a fallen angel, but an actual member of God's court who tested Job's faithfulness to God. The Jews have no "devil" type figure. That is a product of Christianity, and the modern views of the story of the devil come from famous literary works such as "The Inferno" by Dante and Milton's "Paradise Lost", not the Bible. Just some random trivia for you. I'm full of it, thanks to the History Channel ^_^ I love knowledge. Anyway, so I downloaded the manga to see just what was up with it anyway, since it's getting pretty popular from what I hear. I got it from http://www.stoptazmo.com/, a site which also offers many other manga as well. And they have Furuba up 'til chapter 101! Whoooo! Go free scanlation downloads!

Anyway, I'm off to bed. We were relaying the shelves today for next semester's books and that's a huge pain in the ass, so I'm mighty tired. Later everyone, have a good weekend ^_^

   Art And... Well, Art
Yay! My fanart finally posted! I had to resubmit it. I think there is some mystical internet gremlin that periodically shows up to throw my submissions off course. I don’t know why he would, unless he thinks it’s funny or something…. hmmm. Anyway, so here’s the link for all those interested.

Do any of you guys remember that show “Are You Afraid of the Dark?”? A bunch of us in TV production were talking about the old (aka “good”) Nickelodeon shows, and that was one of the ones we came across. That show used to scare me silly when I was little. All that talk made me nostalgic for my childhood. And it made me wonder just what the hell Nickelodeon was doing back then. I mean, come on, “Ren and Stimpy”, “Rocko’s Modern Life”, “Are You Afraid of the Dark”… all shows that children’s TV stations wouldn’t touch with a ten-foot pole now-a-days. I lament the decline of Nickelodeon and Disney (remember “So Weird”?). They just aren’t what they used to be.

Anywho, I am now going to go fall into my bed. This time change thingy still has me off whack. You know something’s up when you look at the clock and go, “Man, I wish it would hurry up and be 11:00 central/12:00 pacific so I can update and go to bed already!” Yeah… that’s not normal ^_^

Ok, I just had to post this picture. It’s from Anime-Crack.net. Freakin’ hilarious ^_^

   Universally Screwed
Ever have one of those days where you feel like the entire universe is trying to screw you up? Not like anything really bad happened, but a whole bunch of little things went wrong in a row? Well, that was my day. But I think it was to balance out the impossibly good thing that happened to me earlier. See, when I got to Art History today, we got our essays back and somehow I got an A, which is really weird since my paper was too short. I was expecting like B-C, but no. So of course, everything after that moment was out of whack. Like, I realized it was Tuesday and I had to drive all the way out to our credit union to drop off my pay-checks before they closed, then I was asked to drop off some stuff at the UPS store for my mom. No problem there, but after I got home, I realized that Hobby Lobby was literaly right across the street and I could have gone in for my colored pencil, but forgot. Then, upon sitting at my computer, I realized that we didn't have Microsoft Access, a program I need for my homework due the next day. So, out I went, back to Hobby Lobby for my pencil and out to school to use the computer lab. Once I got home, I tried to finish my Yuki drawing. Except one of my grey pencils kept snapping, so I finally just colored with the broken tip (I mean it, that's how many times that damn thing broke. I kind of went crazy) But then finally, after that everything was good and I think I have now karmically earned my A ^_^

And speaking of my drawing, yes I did finish and submit it, but as of this moment it is not up yet. Damn my not being a senior artist with their instant posting! Once it is up, however, I'll go back and add a link in this entry. Then all will be able to view and criticise! Yay! So, that's about it for now. Tootles everyone and I'll let you know when my story portion is ready to post ^_^

   Happy Day-After-Halloween!
Hello! Well, after much deliberation, I have decided to wait just a tiny bit longer to post any of my crazy dream-inspired story mentioned in my last post. I still have some tweaking to do and so it will wait until I've added/subtracted/modified or in general funkified any parts that still bug me. You parts know who you are! You will be dealt with!

Also, in other news, I had planned to FINALLY post the color version of my Yuki drawing tonight, BUT upon nearing the completion of the coloring, I realized that I was missing one color. ONE COLOR! So now, I shall have to make a trip to the art store tomorrow and procure that final missing element. Then all will be well ^_^

Sadly, I was not able to go trick-or-treating this year due, oddly enough, to being scheduled for work. It seems that several people who usually are available to work Monday nights had mysteriously vanished. Hmmm, I wonder why... Anyway, so yeah, no big bags of stomach churning, teeth-rotting goodies for me. But I did get to raid the left-over candy that we handed out when I got home, so it balances out I guess. So, I hope everyone had a happy Halloween, and may we all turn green from sugar intoxication! Yay!

-Quote #1 of the Day-
My 9 yr old sister, Kristen: "Whaaa! This is the worst day ever! *cries*"
Me: "Hey, come on. If you stop crying, I'll watch some Fruits Basket with you."
Kristen: "*sob* I don't want to watch Fruits Basket! *sob* And anyway, the manga is so much better!"
Me: "I love you! *tackle*"
-Me and my sister on her first day of school this year- (she was unhappy because none of her friends are in her class or ride her bus. Might I add that I'm horrible at consoling children and usually resort to bribes ^_^)

-Quote #2 of the Day-
My 5 yr old brother, Michael: "*nose runny and stuffed up* I can't breathe! *cries* I can't breathe!"
Kristen: "*annoyed* If you couldn't breathe then you wouldn't be talking!"
-Family coming home from trick-or-treating- (Yes, my littlest sister is a real pistol ^_^)

   Decisions, Decisions...
Hmmm, I’m torn right now. I have a bit of a dilemma. See, I’ve written this story, and I don’t know if I should post part of it for feedback now, or wait until I’ve gotten more of the story’s plot solidified. If I post it too soon, I’m in danger of not wanting to change some things or feeling stuck with what I have. However, if I do post now, I’m more likely to work on it seriously later as opposed to it gathering dust. And I really don’t want that to happen. Again. Back before I wanted to be an Astronomer, Biologist, Librarian, or Art Teacher, I used to want to write for children and young adults. Of course, I always ended up starting stories, and then never taking them anywhere. So I said that one day, no matter what, even if I never become a writer, I would eventually write a story and finish it. And I think this is the story I really want to finish. It came to me in a dream. No kidding. I mean, the story itself now greatly differs from it, but the major characters (including a couple character’s names) and a few scenes are directly from my dream. Weird. Anyway, I took it as sign to start writing again, since I hadn’t even so much as created a new character name in many months. And for once I actually have something that I never did with any of my other stories. An ending. Yes, in my opinion the hardest and most overlooked part of any story is the ending. And now that I finally have one, I really, REALLY want to finish this. But I’m not sure of the best way to make sure that I do. Hence my debate. So what do you think? Should I reveal to you part of my still slightly evolving story or should I wait until I finish it all? It’s not really all that original or fantastic, but it’s a step forward as far as my writing abilities are going, so I’m feeling a need to share for once ^_^ Usually I would just hand it off to my oldest friend/honest editor and get her opinions and ever helpful margin comments, but I’m feeling generous today (and brave). I don’t know, it all depends…

In other news, I was sad today when I realized that my volunteering to work on Saturday would mean that I couldn’t got out the night before with my friends *pouty face* Damn you emergency textbook inventories! Damn you stupid computers with your inability to keep a decent sales count! Oh well. I can use the cash, since it’s a slow time and everyone’s hours have been cut. And I get to work with Jen again! I haven’t worked with her in a while and we always have a lot of fun. So it balances out I guess. Anyway, off to sleep so I can actually get up for work ^_^ Later.

   *Insane, Sleep-Deprived Laughter*
I finished it! I beat down that puny concept know as physical law and I managed to finish all my Yu Yu Hakusho episodes. I have no clue how I did it, and I think I haven't eaten since about 4 pm (can't remember, it's 1 am right now, anime comes before food), but somehow I've finished the whole series. Yay! Now I'm going to go crash. But it was interesting. And now that it's all over, I feel kinda sad. Then I remember that I personally own all 112 episodes of all that classic anime goodness and I get happy again. Collecting is fun ^_^

Anyway, off to dreamland. My usual grumpy morning self will be cursing the chipper midnight self but oh well. Sleep is for the weekends! And when I can't stand anymore.

   I'm Free!!!!!!
Yay! It's 1 am and I just printed out my finished art essay! My life is my own again! I can basically kick back for the rest of the semester since this was the only paper I'll have to write for any of my classes. Sometimes there are bonuses to being stuck in transition and filler classes. Wooohoooo! And now that I am offically free, I will apologize for any negligance on my part during the past 24-48 hours. My sporadic activity on myotaku was the result of evil incarnate, not any will of my own. So all is well now. Muwahahaha! Here I come new DVDs!

-Quote of the Day-
Prince's Friend: "What's with the long face? This is supposed to be your ball. Go out there and catch someone."
Prince: "Shut up... I'm not interested. You go on your own."
Prince's Friend: "It's because you're like that that you're still a virgin you know."
-Fruits Basket ch. 88- (haha, I love this chapter. I also forgot to mention in my last post that Yuki plays the Fairy Godmother and Hana plays Cinderella ^_^ Kyo's stuck as the Prince and Uo is the Prince's Friend. Tohru plays the Ugly Step-sister [the Yuki fan-club stuffed the ballot box for that one] and Aya was the costume designer *haha* I love how the characters got to put their issues and personalities into the parts they played. And how they totally mangled the plot.)

Hahahahahahahahahaha *collapses, wheezing for air* hahahahaha *hack* hahahaha *cough* hahaha...
Wow, I just read chapter 88 of Fruits Basket. My God, I bow before this series and proclaim it to be all that it is holy! That rendition of Cinderella made me laugh tears. I think I cracked a rib or two. *sigh* Everything is right with the world at the moment. Sure when I wake up in the morning and realize that I haven't done any school work, the world will suck, but right now I couldn't care less. Weeeeee! Anyway, go look at my wallpaper people! I want opinions! Now! (sorry, happiness makes me power hungry and psychotic. It'll wear off in a little bit)

Also, I got my final episodes of Yu Yu Hakusho in the mail today. Yay! Now all I need to do is find 10 spare hours in which to watch it. Stupid laws of physics! I shall smite you and bend time to my will! (sorry, guess I'm still too happy)

Well, I guess that's about it for now. Back to the ever present and looming art report that's due Thursday. I'll be so happy when this week's over. And with that happiness, all shall bend to my will. Muwahahahahaha!!!! (yeah, just.. ignore all that for now, thanks ^_^)

-Quote of the Day-
Fairy Godmother: "Take heart gentle Cinderella. I shall grant any wish you may have tonight."
Cinderella: "My, that's wonderful... burn the ballroom until it's no more than ash."
Fairy Godmother: "That's a crime. Please wish for something a little softer and innocent."
Cinderella: "Grilled meat. I want to eat..."
Fairy Godmother: "Not like that."

*Doing The Happy Dance* Oh, That's Right, You've Never Seen My Happy Dance...^_^
Helllloooo! I’m in a really good mood right now. I got an email from one of my best friends from high school who moved to Chicago. She’s the one who gave me the nickname “Android.” She’s going to UIC-Chicago for photography and anthropology. She wants to be one of those people who travels with magazines like National Geographic. She’d be really good at it too. She’s one of those people who’s not afraid to just up and go somewhere. Right after high school, she moved to Seattle for a year and lived there with her boyfriend. Then she decided that she hated it and moved back when her lease was up. Apparently she missed the crazy commonalities she had with Elise, Keeb’s quirky insanity, and my ability to understand her jokes that usually went over everyone else’s heads. Hahaha, geniuses are interesting people. Of course, I think all people are interesting. Everyone’s got their quirks and oddities, and I love observing them.

So yeah, now that I’ve gone on a complete tangent, lets get back in line. My new wallpaper is finally up so anyone who wants to can go and see it. Oh, and I wanted to post this list of collected quotes and sayings that I found online. I know where a few of them came from originally, like #10 is a quote from Dave Barry, #9 is from Earl Wilson, and #14 is Samuel Clemens (more commonly known as Mark Twain). Anyway, enjoy!

Zen Sarcasm

12. Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

14. If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.
