*Strolls In Whistling As If I Haven't Been Missing... Or Could Whistle*

I've been watching episodes of Witch Hunter Robin recently for some reason. Besides the fact that I think it's groovy. Also, all WHR fans have to read the episode summaries on this website. Now, you might be asking, "Robo, why should I read summaries if I've already seen all the episodes?" Simply put, the answer is that they're pretty hilarious. Example: when referring to Amon and Robin in one summary, the writer calls them "Tall Dark and Angsty and his little Victorian cookie." (trust me, that's funny). But more importantly, these summaries illustrate the point I once made that you have to be able to mock the things you love. No one can doubt that a person who spends time to set up an anime website enjoys the show, yet at the same time you have these sarcastic summaries worthy of squirting milk through you nose. A most enjoyable paradox.

I've come to the realization that it at times appears as if I'm jumping different anime trains with all the enthusiasm of a hobo with a criminal record. This is in fact true in words only. I am constantly abuzz with thoughts of several anime. I must limit my words in order to prevent driving others crazy (plus it is physically impossible to speak of several shows at once). Now, how do I possess such infinte love? Let's take a little field trip through my heart. On the suface it seems to shine with virginal purity, but this is in fact merely the addictive shininess of pure evil. And so there are many evil caverns in which to fill (For some reason all evil hearts have caverns. Go figure.)

Wow. Apparently this kind of entry is what happens when I spend too much time locked in the educational system.

-Quotation of the Day-
"At a crime scene, Karasuma is trying to read what the hell happened, using her powers. (It looks like an ATM has been trashed; I'd go with frustrated men with baseball bats for $100, Alex.)"

   Curses!

I'm really getting tired of things going wrong. Let it suffice to say that we've had internet problems for over a week and we just now today got someone out here to fix it. Plus, my computer is broken again, so I'm back to hijacking my parents' computers. Arg!!!

I will leave you all with a peace offering for my poor attendance online. I've submitted a new drawing (wow, I haven't said that in a LONG time ^_^) I was having fun with charcoal. I'll try to make a link to it when it gets posted. (sadly, it looks better from far away T_T) It's nothing special, I was just bored today. Having no internet can do that to you T_T

   Done! *Breathes Deeply*

Well, I finished Trace Memory. It was great! I mean, it certainly has it's problems, like many video games, but it still had an interesting story line. And it reminded me of Myst. But it was like the "Average People/Impatient Smart People" version. Hahaha. Because everyone knows that only really patient smart people can get through one of the Myst games without cheating. Constantly. So yeah, I feel like laying the plot out for you guys. Here goes:

The main character of the story is a young girl named Ashley Mizuki Robbins who has been raised by her aunt after her parents, both scientists, died eleven years ago. Shortly before her 14th birthday, she receives a package from her father, saying that he is actually alive and he wants her to come meet him to celebrate her birthday. She tracks the letter down to a place called Blood Edward Island, inhabited only by the deserted ruins of a once grand estate. When she goes in search of her father, she comes across a cemetary and is surprised by the ghost of a young boy, who only remember's that he was once called "D". He asks Ashley to help him recover his lost memories. Thus begins Ashley and D's joint journey to discover their pasts in a crumbling mansion filled with secrets and tragic history.

It might suffice to say that this game made me sad (especially the ending), but I was highly curious the whole time. Overall, groovy goodness.

Well, my first two days of classes at Northern have gone well so far. I know I'm going to be panicking come Setptember/October when I have my first papers due, but for right now I don't feel like I want to throw up too much ^_^ I'm absolutely loving my Japanese class. Our instructor is great and I'm slightly proud of my progress so far. I love hiragana! I'm probably going to want to die when the katakana rolls around, but oh well. For now, I love class ^_^

Anywho, I have to run off to sleep now. Classes tomorrow morning and whatnot. I'm so sleepy. Damn transition phases *shakes fist* Later ^_^

   Hmmm...

I just realized that it is officialy the last day of my summer vacation T_T I want to cry.

The good news is that I got Trace Memory for my DS and I can't wait to play it... once the sun rises. I don't want to play it at night, because I have a feeling that it will creep me out 0_0 You know, what with the ghost, mysterious island, hunt for missing scientists, and other such whatnots. I'm a wimp ^_^

In other news, best commercial ever.

   Woooooh!!!!

I got a Nintendo DS Lite! Woooooh!!!*squeals in high pitch tones* The epitome of my day.

Also, I got the 7th volume fo Ouran High School Host Club. Fantastically hilarious, as always. Especially when you throw Hunny and Mori's younger brothers into the mix ^_^ They're exact opposites (to their siblings). Chika (Hunny's brother) is harsh and serious and Satoshi (Mori's brother) is loud and energetic. In fact, he constantly hits Chika over the head with his kendo stick to keep him in line (he has a really weird sense of what's good for Chika ^_^) Of course, let's not forget the very first chapter of the volume, which is so funny I will not even describe it here, since it would ruin the fun for those who read the series.

Anywho, I really don't have much to say today, so I'll be on my way. Ta ta for now.

Escaflowne! (I couldn't resist ^_^)

-Quote of the Day-

His guardian, Mr. Suoh, is waiting at the reception on the second floor. Kyoya is 5'9" and wears glasses. He has on a patterned shirt and jeans. The child is currently penniless, and his guardian is extremely worried. If anyone spots him, please contact our staff immediately..."

   Holy Time Breaches Batman!

Gah, you know those times when you think, "Ok, I'll watch this one episode of an anime to fill this random half hour" and then two days later you find yourself finishing the entire series. Yeah. I did it again. *sobs* I can't help it! Of course, I should have known better. I mean it's freakin Escaflowne for crying out loud, one of the best anime ever. It's got everything. And I mean everything. Sci fi, fantasy, dragons, war, plot twists (And I mean weird ones. Seriously.), dimensional travel, swords, girly crap (yes, this includes bishonen and love quadrangles), explosions, mechas, Atlantis, feathers, morphing, psychotic pyros... the list goes on and on. And surprisingly enough, it has a realistic ending for the main characters (yes, I just put "realistic" and "Escaflowne" in the same sentence ^_^) I think the only thing it's missing is a unicorn weilding a lazerbeam.

So yes, here I am, riding the wave of post-end-of-anime-series depression. The series ending didn't help. However, I must cling to my optimism. Thanks to the series' fundamental plot concepts and ideas, literally anything is possible. At least, that's what I always tell myself to keep from crying ^_^

*random fan moment*
I LOVE ESCAFLOWNE!!!
*fan moment over*

Sorry, it's the show that first got me hooked on anime. I'll probably request to be buried with it or something. *fights back tears* Sorry (again), I literaly just stopped watching it 30 minutes ago, so yeah.

Alright, enough with the enormous tribute to my gateway drug anime. Oh, and the movie's good, too (although more violent), not to mention the music. Gorgeous. And... *slaps self* Stop! Move on!

Ok, I had my first Japanese class on Monday (yay!) Sounds like it's going to be fun. Two of my friends are in the class with me, so I already have pre-set study buddies ^_^ And I can call watching anime "studying", which is always a plus *muwahaha*

Also, I'm planning on making a "mellow" CD. I'm just gonna call it that too. My Mellow Mix (trademark, patent pending, etc...). I'm planning on using songs like "Hallelujah" (yes, the "Shrek" song), that song Saya sings in Black Cat, "Such Great Heights", "I Will Follow You Into The Dark" by Deathcab for Cutie, "Give Me One Reason" by Tracy Chapman, that Norah Jones song I can't remember the name of at this moment, etc. Gotta love the mellow, and sometimes slightly depressing songs. Anyway, if you have any suggestions feel free to speak ^_^

Me: "Um, Hun, that placement has a rather detrimental effect on my attempts to cross this area of the floor."
Kristen: "Wha?"
Me: "Move your ass out of my way."
-Random moment in my day-

Escaflowne! Muwahaha, you though I was done, didn't you?! Love it in all it's classic anime goodness! I command it!

I Return! (Because Saying "I'm Back!" Is So Overused ^_^)

Sorry for the sudden leave without warning (wow, I'm apologising for that kind of thing a lot lately, aren't I?). I've been on vacation with the family for the past week. We went to Sanibel Island in Florida, which is located on the Gulf side and is basically two towns inside a wildlife preserve. There are no private beaches, you aren't allowed to have lights above a certain brightness on at night (it interferes with the turtles) and there is a distinct lack of evil corporations (read: chain stores). It was nice, but I burned my back and shoulders so badly the first day we were there that I had trouble moving in general for the rest of week. I don't even want to remember how painful it was to wear a bra *shudder* I swear, if getting a tattoo is any less brutal than that experience, then I'm all for it.

So, needless to say, when I stepped into the airport terminal yesterday (Saturday), I gratefully inhaled the natural aromas of dirt and frying oil, the later of which made me laugh because I realized that there must be a McDonalds within 20 feet. I could only be in Chicago (and, subsequently, very close to home). Don't get me wrong, I love nature. And I hate McDonalds. But I guess you could say that I have woodland sensibilities as opposed to tropical ones. I live surrounded by a forest preserve, the legal boundaries of which are not often of the greatest concern to the native woodland creatures. I love the ocean and sand, but I missed my towering oak, maple, and walnut trees. The island didn't have enough cover and shade. It's not as soothing reading under palm trees. It just doesn't work right. And the island is too quiet. Trading crickets for sand fleas is a rather bad deal for a few reasons. So thanks, but no thanks Florida. I'll keep my china skin and large, shady trees over your tans and open skies. Plus, I much prefer deer to aligators, but that might just be me.

   Oh Well...

Well, I have sad news. My computer is officially dead. I am now internet-less. Some good news came in the form of my littlest sister getting internet on her computer (which I planned to frequently hijack), but, it won’t let me to log on to my account because her uber-tight security system, set up by my parents, won’t allow cookies of any sort, thus defeating the log-on system. So now I’m typing this entry on her word processor and I’ll have to email it to myself, so that I can post it later when I get a chance to log on to one of the parents computers. Gir.

Well, I have so much to talk about due to my periods of extended absence. First of all, Taiji is going well. Very interesting. Also, I’ve decided to get a bow stringer for my bow. I’ve finally had it with being to short to string my own freakin’ bow. I barely beat Ed from FMA in height, so my 62 inch bow is a bit of a problem. And I won’t always have a tall person around who knows what they’re doing. So yeah. Time to get hunting at the sporting stores.

My parents are dragging us all on vacation next week before classes start, so I’m going to have to miss the first week of rush at work. All that money I could be making T_T And seeing as I’m the senior lackey (as in, I’m the student worker who’s been there the longest), this has left a few unhappy campers at work. They’re going to be stuck for the first week of the busiest time of the year with a whole crew of newbies. My manager actually cringed when I asked her for the week off. But oh well. C’est la vie.

I had fun on Saturday working with Jessica. Actually, we always have fun working together. Both my quotes of the day are from her. We maybe worked a total of 1 hour together not including when we were in separate places, but we both like Barenaked Ladies and randomness, so we were rocking out ^_^

As you may have noticed, I changed my theme to xxxHoLic. I love that series. And I love the movie soundtrack *drools* Especially the song I put in the background. It's playfuly creepy. It captures the whole mood of the series. And I must reitterate my amusement at the fact that I think Watanuki and Domeki are what Kyo and Yuki would be like if there was ever a bizarro alternate universe where they were friends. Watanuki goes around over-reacting in massive loudness and Doumeki calls him "baka" a lot. The whole thing amuses me. Especially the fact that it's painfully obvious that they are friends to everyone except Watanuki *hehe*

Also, I've cleaned out my friends list. It's seems so short now ^_^ Much more manageable.

Well, now I really must go. I miss my computer. But I guess now I get to build up my covert computer sneaking skills. They are in dire need of practice ^_^ Later.

“I bet Morgan Freeman knows how to pick locks!”

   Curses...

Well, I just stopped in to post really fast and explain my recent absence. My video card on my computer blew out (at least, I'm praying it's just the video card) so now I don't have a computer. I've been trying to get some time on one of my parents', but they both work on theirs. So yeah. I'll try to keep up with everyone's entries, but I probably won't comment. I know I don't have enough time to comment for everyone, so I'll feel bad about leaving people out. So, unless I'm signing a new person's guestbook, you won't be getting much interaction out of me. I'll try to fix my computer this weekend, but I can't make any promises T_T

The good news is, I've had a lot of time to think up a new theme, so my return will probably be celebrated with the official unveiling of the new set-up. So, until then, have fun everyone ^_^

   Snuggles Pillow *Mutter, Snore, Rumble*

Ah, sorry for the absence. We've been rather busy at work, and I haven't felt like saying much. Plus, my life is rather dull, especially over the summer.

Anywho, just last week I read the first four books in the Earthsea Cycle. Great stuff. Ursula K. LeGuin is like a humanistic Tolkien or Lewis. And the weird thing is, I'd never even heard of her until recently. Shows how much I pay attention ^_^ So yeah, goodness all around. And, if you've only seen the Sci Fi mini-series Earthsea, then you have been deprived of the true feel of the works. Not that the mini-series is all bad, but the books have much more soul.

Hmm, let's see... today I ran around to three different libraries looking for the other Earthsea books. Didn't find them. Went to work. Afterwards, I went to my Taiji (aka Tai Chi) class, which just so happens to be placed in the same building as one of our library branches. So not only did I get to learn some Taiji stuff, but I found the books ^_^ Yay!
