   Sugar Spirals

Ugh, right now I’m seriously fighting the urge to rip apart my current xxxHoLic theme and put up a Spiral theme *wiggles fingers evilly* In fact, the only reason I’m not doing that right now is because I am seriously lacking in the materials necessary to carry out my evil plot. Spiral isn’t a massively popular anime so it’s not exactly like I have a plethora of online resources. However, I am planning on running myself down to the mall tomorrow (Wednesday) after work in order to hit-up our little Japanese import shop. What I’m mainly going to look for is the soundtrack and art books. If I happen to find the complete series at a reasonable price, I will squeal girlishly for joy, because there is this absolutely adorable screenshot that I’m thinking of using for a background, but sadly, Spiral is a bit tough to find episodes of for download online, probably due to the fact that it was licensed a couple years ago. Fortunately, my new computer has the ability to play DVDs (yay!), so all is not lost. I just need to find those DVDs! >_< I will search high and low with my entire internet and city shopping might! I must have my dreary, emo-y, funny, mystery thriller anime theme! (*Those of you with no idea what this madness is about can see the second half of my previous post for more details*)

Oh, if you haven’t guessed, I finished Spiral this weekend (and I'm also hyped-up on sugar) ^_^ I was right about the hanging ending (curses…) but the story is really too long for just 25 episodes, so I’m glad they didn’t try to mangle it horribly. None of the major mysteries are solved (Where is Ayumu’s brother? What are the Blade Children? Why are people trying to kill them? How the hell is Ayumu supposed to save them anyway?) but I just went on Wikipedia (the ultimate source for any form of useless knowledge) and looked up the ending to the manga. I’m not gonna wait around for TokyoPop to get off its ass. So yes, ultimate groovyness. I’m seriously thinking about hunting down all the Japanese volumes of the manga once I learn some more Japanese. I love a good challenge *evil grin*

Anywho, here’s a Spiral music video, just for fun. I noticed that there are a lot of obvious couples in the series, and they’re all so cute together (especially Ryoko and Kousuke. Ryoko keeps that boy in line. Violently). Obviously someone else noticed too ^_^ (oh, on a side note, the girl with silver hair and pig-tails who looks like she’s about 11-12 is actually 16. Older then the main character, now that I think about it 0_0 Anyway, despite anime’s history of highly age mismatched couples, this is not one of them ^_^)

Fun pic! (hmm, someone should chop Kanone off the left end there. Psycho bastard.)

-Quotation of the Day-
Madoka: *answers door* “Hello.
Hiyono: “Good day, Madoka.”
Madoka: “Good day, wait a minute.”
Hiyono: “Okay.”
Madoka: *yells inside* “Ayumu, you have a guest.”
Ayumu: *yelling from inside* “Who is it?”
Madoka: “The one who sings the strange song.”
Ayumu: “Tell her I’m not here.”
Hiyono: *annoyed* “Excuse me.” *goes inside and sits on Ayumu while he tries to sleep*
