Dreamer
This is a story full of love, betrayle and soul-sucking, dream-eating demons. It's not quite finished yet but enjoy.

[A boy around the age of 18 wonders through a foggy meadow in his PJs searching for someone]
Moroto: Destiny? Destiny, are you there?
Destiny: [waving in the distance] Over here, Moroto!
Moroto: [running over to her] Hey!
Destiny: Hey yourself.
Moroto: So what’s on the agenda tonight? I know! How about a
rousing game of chess?
Destiny: Moroto, we’ve been doing what you want for what? Six
days now. I thought we could do something I want to
tonight.
Moroto: Don’t you like chess?
Destiny: Oh! I love it, it’s just, I thought we could go back to
my place and spend some time there.
Moroto: Y...your place?
Destiny: Is there a problem with that?
Moroto: No! Not at all. Let’s go!
[Moroto and Destiny arrive inside a huge castle. Moroto looks around in amazement]
Moroto: Wow! It’s huge in here. [Destiny begins to leave] Hey!
Where are you going?
Destiny: I’ll be right back. Wait here. [She leaves]
Moroto: [talking to himself] She’s sure taking her sweet time.
When is she coming back?
Tomodochi: [emerging from the shadows] She’s not coming back.
Moroto: Whoa! You scared me. Who are you?
Tomodochi: Lord Tomodochi and I am the ruler of these lands.
Moroto: [bowing awkwardly] It’s in honor to meet you. Um, what
did you mean Destiny’s not coming back?
Tomodochi: Well, actually you’ll be gone before she returns.
Moroto: Gone? I’m confused.
Tomodochi: Yes, that is common for you humans, isn’t it?
Moroto: You humans? What are you then?
Tomodochi: I am a Soul Stealer.
Moroto: [backing away] A S...Soul S...Stealer?
Tomodochi: Yes and as you’ve probably guessed, I’m here to
take your soul.
Moroto: My soul! Why?
Tomodochi: It’s how I survive. I feed off of dreams and the
dreams reside within souls.
Moroto: What about Destiny?
Tomodochi: Destiny works for me. She finds some lonely
human, normally a pathetic boy like yourself, and
after seven days of deception, she brings them to
me.
Moroto: So this whole...she was just pretending to...
Tomodochi: What? [laughing] You thought she actually liked a
pitiful being like you? You humans are so gullible.
Now make this easy for yourself and don’t move.
[he slashes Moroto’s chest with his razor blade nails and pulls out his soul. Moroto falls to the ground unconscious. Moroto’s soul looks like a white transparent him, like a ghost, with a glowing orb around its neck. Soul Moroto’s eyes are filled with fear as Tomodochi removes the glowing orb and eats it. Soul Moroto screams in pain and vanishes in a bright light. Destiny enters and picks up the lifeless Moroto]
Tomodochi: Well done Destiny. You always seem to find the most
delectable dreams.
Destiny: Thank you my Lord. I live to serve you. [She leaves]
Tomodochi: Now, whose turn is it to find my next meal?
Damien: [several figures stand in the shadows. one steps out]
Mine my Lord. I have already found the perfect soul, one
drenched with dreams.
Tomodochi: Very good, Damien. And who is the owner of this
soul? Another teenage girl I presume.
Damien: Yes. She’s an outcast who dreams constantly. Her
name is...
[cut to a girl sleeping on her desk]
Ms Narita: Keera Wahara!
Keera: [she pops her head surprised] Wa? Oh, I’m sorry
Ms. Narita. What was the question?
Ms. Narita: [she shakes her head and sighs as other students snicker] Honestly, this is the sixth time you’ve fallen asleep in
my class this week! I said do you know where Moroto is?
Keera: I’m sorry I don’t.
Kaiko: I heard he was sent to the hospital. He got that new
mystery illness. Ya know, that one that happens when
you’re sleeping.
Molly: How strange. Seems like someone gets it every week.
Kaiko: Yeah. He’s the fifth person so far.
[the students chatter excitedly]
Ms. Narita: It’s very unfortunate what happened to Moroto but we
need to continue our studies. Keera, could
you tell me the answer to...[she turns to see Keera sleeping again] Keera! Not again.
Kazuma: Just let her stay in her Dream World. That’s where she
belongs.
Ms. Narita: I think that was uncalled for, Kazuma.
Kazuma: It’s not like she belongs here.
Ms. Narita: That’s enough! Perhaps you could give me the
answer.
[Molly and Kaiko whisper to each other as Kazuma complains]
Molly: Why does he always act like such a jerk?
Kaiko: He’s right, though. I mean, it’s not like Keera wants to be
here. Remember in first grade when they asked us what
we wanted to be when we grew up?
Molly: Yeah. Oh! I wanted to be a vet but then I found out I’m
allergic to almost every mammal.
Kaiko: Whatever. Do you remember what Keera wanted to be?
Molly: No.
Kaiko: She said she wanted to be a dreamer.
Kazuma: [whispering too] What does that mean?
Kaiko: Hello! When did you join this conversation?
Kazuma: When Ms. N found someone else to annoy. Now, what
did you mean she wanted to be a dreamer?
Molly: Wait! I do remember. Keera explained it was someone who
lives in the Astral Planes and does whatever they want. In
order to enter the Astral Planes, one must be in an
unconscious state or I.E. sleeping.
Kazuma: So I guess she really does belong in the Dream World.
Kaiko: Pretty much. So Kazuma wasn’t being a jerk, Molly.
Kazuma: Hey! What’d she say about me?
Ms. Narita: Kazuma, Kaiko, Molly! Be quiet and pay attention!
KKM: Yes Ma’am.
[after some time, the school bell rings. all the students rush out the door except for Keera who slowly puts her things away. Ms. Narita approaches her with a concerned look]
Ms. Narita: Keera, I’m worried about you. Aren’t you getting
enough sleep at home?
Keera: Yes Ma’am. I get plenty of sleep.
Ms. Narita: Then why are you sleeping so much in my class?
Keera: I just like to sleep.
Ms. Narita: Well, I enjoy a game of tennis but you don’t see me
smacking a tennis ball around during class, do you?
Keera: No. I’m sorry.
Ms. Narita: You’re one of my best students, Keera. I just don’t
want to see your grades slipping.
Keera: They won’t. I spend most of my time after school studying.
[while leaving] What else would I be doing? [she leans against the door outside and speaks quietly to herself] It’s not
like I have any friends to spend my time with. [while walking home, Keera runs into Rica, the closest thing she’s ever had to a friend.]
Rica: [while skipping around Keera] Hi Keera! Did ja hear what
what happened to Moroto.
Keera. Hello Rica. Yes, I did. He’s in my class, remember?
Rica: Well how am I supposed to remember every person in your
class? [walking along Keera’s side] It’s kinda scary. Anyone
one of us could get that sickness next. I’ve been trying to
find a connection between all the victims.
Keera: Oh really? Come up with anything yet?
Rica: [sighing] Nothing. There doesn’t seem to be anything in
common as far as I can tell. Though, it does seem to target
the younger population, anywhere from pre-school to high-
school, but there isn‘t enough evidence to prove that. And
it’s not contagious since three of the victims had siblings
around the same age and they didn‘t get it or give it to the
victims. I just don’t know.
Keera: [arriving at Keera’s home] Well, don’t think too much on
it. Would you like to come in for a bit?
Rica: Sorry, I’m busy.
Keera: Homework?
Rica: Ha! I finished that at school. That first-grade work doesn’t
challenge me in the least bit. No, I’m busy trying to figure
out this sickness! We need to tackle this problem before
it becomes out of hand.
Keera: Well, good luck with that. [Rica leaves talking to herself about the illness while Keera sighs and smiles]
[later that night, after Keera had gone to sleep, she finds herself in her PJs at a lake with a beautiful waterfall. she looks around confused and jumps at the sound of a voice]
Damien: Hello there.
[Keera turn to see a handsome teenager a little older then her]
Keera: Um, hi. Could you tell me where I am?
Damien: You are in the Astral Planes and...
Keera: So I’m dreaming.
Damien: Pretty much but...
Keera: And who are you?
Damien: I am Damien and I am very pleased to meet you. [dashing smile]
Keera: Uh-huh....well see ya. [begins to leave]
Damien: What? Wait! Where are you going?
Keera: This is all just a dream, right. I’m gonna go have some fun.
Damien: But Keera...
Keera: [turning around] How do you know my name? What am I
saying? This is my dream. Of course you’d know my name.
[Keera begins to leave again but trips over a stone. she scrapes her elbow and begins to bleed]
Keera: Ow. Hey, that hurt! You’re not supposed to feel anything
when you’re dreaming.
Damien: [walking over to Keera and helping her up] That’s what I
was trying to explain before. This isn’t a normal dream.
Anything that happens to you here, happens in real life. I
think you should stay with me. [he takes Keera’s hand but she pulls away]
Keera: I don’t know you so I would appreciate it if you didn’t
touch me!
Damien: I’m trying to help you.
Keera: I don’t need your help!
Damien: [he takes her hand again] You know, you’re very
beautiful when you’re angry. [Keera pulls away again and pushes Damien into the lake]
Keera: Back off, Romeo! I can take care of myself! [she storms off angrily. Damien steps out of the lake drenched.]
Damien: Fine! Who needs you! [he walks away mumbling to himself and runs into a young girl. she puts her hand on her waste and stares at him]
Crystal: And just where do you think you’re going?
Damien: To find some other girl, one who’s less stubborn then
her!
Crystal: I knew this day would come. You would actually find an
intelligent girl, one who wouldn’t fall for your lame pick-
up lines.
Damien: They are not lame! Why can’t I find some other girl?
Crystal: You’re the one who told Lord Tomodochi about a dream
drenched soul and that’s what he’s expecting. You were
right! This girls soul is perfect. Your just going to have
to try harder.
Damien: Hey! I’m dashing and good-looking. Isn’t that enough?
Crystal: Maybe in the past, but you need a new approach now.
Damien: Like what?
Crystal: [walking away] I don’t know. You’re the dashing one,
remember? Think of something yourself.
Damien: [yelling after her sarcastically] Thank yuo soooo much,
Crystal! You’re a big help! [he looks off in the direction Keera left] I’ll give Keera a night to cool off before I talk to her
again.
[Keera’s alarm goes up. she awakes to find blood on her blanket. she looks on her elbow and sees the scratch from when she fell.]
Keera: Did that all really happen?
[later at school, Keera is sleeping again in class. she is again at the lake but in her uniform this time]
Keera: [talking to herself] In order to know for sure, I’ll have to
get another scratch and see if it’s there when I wake up.
[she picks up a sharp rock and is about to cut her arm when Damien appears in front of her]
Damien: Good morning, Keera! Odd you’re sleeping now, but
whatever suits you. I’m sorry if I was rude yesterday.
I didn’t mean to make you so angry.
Keera: Not now Damien. I’m busy.
Damien: Doing what?
Keera: It’s non of your business now leave me alone! [she’s about to cut herself again when Damien grab her hand]
Damien: What do you think you’re doing?! Stop that!
Keera: Let go of me! [she pushes Damien into the lake again and quickly cuts her arm. she cuts a long line down her arm and begins to bleed. she falls to the ground and holds her arm in pain. she then hears Kazuma’s voice]
Kazuma: She’s bleeding! Keera, wake up! You’re bleeding! [Keera wakes up and sees blood all over her desk from her arm]
Molly: Where did all that blood come from? [all the students gather around while Ms. Narita pushes through]
Ms. Narita: Give her some air! Keera, what happened!
Keera: I...I don’t know.
Ms. Narita: [helping Keera up] Come with me. We’ll take you to
the infirmary.
[later, the school-bell rings and all the students rush out, not even asking if Keera was alright. Keera with her wrapped up arm got up from her desk and Ms. Narita approached her]
Ms. Narita: Are you sure you’ll be okay? I can give you a ride if
you need one.
Keera: Thank you, but I’m fine.
Ms. Narita: Keera, what happened?
Keera: Just a bad dream.
[later that night, Keera again found herself at the lake with Damien there waiting for her. he ran up to her and saw her arm]
Damien: What the heck were you thinking?! I told you whatever
happens here happens in the real world.
Keera: I know. I just wanted to make sure. [she turned away from him]
Damien: Don’t do that again. You really scared me. [he placed his hand on her shoulder.]
Keera: [she placed her hand on his] Damien...[she gripped his hand tightly and through him into the lake] I told you not to touch
me! Just leave me alone! [she storms away]
[the third night Keera met up with Damien, he gave her a red rose. she looked at the rose and then at Damien. he gave a dashing smile and Keera pushed him in the lake. When Damien looked up at her, she was smiling lightly and ran off with the rose in hand. Damien continued to stare into the distance. he thought she was very beautiful when she smiled. the fourth night, Damien attempted to greet Keera with a hug but again she pushed him. when she did, Damien grabbed her hands and they both fell into the lake. Damien busted out laughing and so did Keera. she continued to laugh without realizing Damien was staring at her. she was even more beautiful when she laughed. the fifth night was the most important.]
Damien: Before you push me in the lake like every other night, I
have to tell you something. I don’t know how to put it
so I’ll just come out and say it. Keera...I love you.
[Keera stares at him for a moment and then reached out her hands. Damien braces for the push into the lake but is surprised to feel Keera place her hands on his chest rather then pushing him. she places her cheek against his chest as well]
Keera: I’ve never felt so happy this past week, and I have you to
thank for it, Damien. Thank you. [Damien wrapped his arms around her forgetting all about Lord Tomodochi and how he was expecting a soul from him by the end of the week. from a distance, Destiny looked on the couple in disgust and headed for Lord Tomodochi’s castle]
[later at Lord Tomodochi’s castle]
Destiny: [kneeling] My Lord, there appears to be a problem. It
seems that Damien has fallen in love with the girl he’s
told us about.
Lord Tomodochi: Damien is a very good deceiver. Are you sure
he is not acting?
Destiny: I’m positive. I’ve never seen him act this way before.
Lately, he’s been more cheerful then normal and will
sometimes just stare off into the distance while I’m
talking to him. And just now, he confessed his love for
her!
Lord Tomodochi: But I do not see a real problem.
Destiny: The problem is if he really is in love with this girl, he will
not hand her soul over to you and you need one dream
filled soul each week to sustain your life and two days
is not enough to find another soul!
Lord Tomodochi: But we do have soul.
Destiny: Whose, my Lord?
Lord Tomodochi: Either I receive the girls soul or I’ll simple take
Damien’s.
Destiny: What? But Damien is a loyal servant of yours and a dear
friend of mine. [standing]You can’t...
Lord Tomodochi: [rising from his chair] I can do whatever I want! [Destiny kneels back down] Besides, do you think his soul would
would be the first I took from one of my
servants?
Destiny: [slowly rising] What do you mean?
Lord Tomodochi: Tell me, Destiny. Does the name Kenji sound
familiar to you?
Destiny: Kenji? No.
Lord Tomodochi: I thought not. At one point, he was a servant of
mine, but he too made the mistake of
falling in love. He foolishly challenged me and
lost his soul in the process all to save some
girl. Destiny, do you know who that girl was? [Destiny slowly shakes her head] That girl was you.
Destiny: [tears slowly appear in her eyes] I...I remember. I had no
friends. They all assumed I thought I was better then
them. They never even gave me a chance. I just wanted
someone to talk to and spend time with. Then, one
night, I met Kenji. He made me so happy. I loved him
and he loved me too. Then on the seventh day, he told
me the truth, but I still loved him. He left for the castle
alone and told me to stay, but I followed him. I hid and
watched as you and Kenji argued. You found my hiding
and attacked, but Kenji pushed me out of the way and
you hit him instead and took his dreams, destroying his
soul, and him. [as tears stream down her face, she clenches her fists tightly and looks up at Tomodochi] You
bastard! You took the away the only person who ever
loved me! You erased all of my memories and turned me
into one of your horrid minions to steal the souls of
people just like me! What about Damien? Did the same
happen to him?
Lord Tomodochi: No. Damien is different. Damien isn’t a human.
He’s only half human.
Destiny: Half human? What’s his other half.
Lord Tomodochi: Soul Stealer. Damien is my son.
Destiny: Your son!?
Lord Tomodochi: No one knows, not even him.
Destiny: If he’s half human, then his mother was...
Lord Tomodochi: Human? Yes, she was. When my father was
ruler of these lands, I worked for him and
brought him the dreams of humans, but I too
fell in love with a human girl, named Julian. She
was the most beautiful creature I had ever seen
with her long flowing brown hair and deep purple
eyes. After seven days, I couldn’t bring her to
my father, so we ran away together. I was able
to fully bring her into the Astral Planes. Two
years later, Damien was born. I had never told
her the truth of my being a Soul Stealer or that
the person who wanted her soul was my father
and I was the one who would bring her to him.
Three years after Damien was born, I told her
the truth. She looked at me with such disgust in
her eyes. She then looked at Damien in disgust
as well realizing he too was a Soul Stealer. She
yelled how I deceived her for so many years and
would never love such a horrid creature and
demanded me to send her home. It felt as
though someone had just tore my heart in two.
I could feel the rage inside me building. Did you
know a Soul Stealer looks like a normal human
at first? It isn’t until increased level of rage
when we change. The more she yelled, the more
my rage grew, until...
Destiny: You destroyed her soul.
Lord Tomodochi: Yes. After that, I took Damien and returned to
my father’s lands. Apparently he had died three
years after my departure. As soon as I returned,
I was made Lord of these lands. I couldn’t let
anyone know I had a son who was half human,
so I raised him as one of my servants.
Destiny: And you would destroy your own son’s soul?
Lord Tomodochi: If need be.
Destiny: You’re sick! You know that?
Lord Tomodochi: And what are you going to do about it?
[Destiny clenches her fists and lunges at Lord Tomodochi. his eyes glows white and Destiny is hit by a wave of power and is flung back into a pillar and falls to the ground]
Destiny: [struggling to stand] You...bastard...[falls unconscious]
[hiding behind a pillar is Crystal. she rushes out of the room but hits a vase. Tomodochi sees her and rushes after her. Crystal has exited the castle and is running across the bridge when Tomodochi causes another wave of energy, knocking Crystal into the moat below. she doesn’t return to the surface]
[on the sixth night, Keera and Damien are happily talking on the lake shore when Keera notices something in the water]
Keera: Hey Damien. What’s that?
Damien: What’s what? [he looks out into the water and realizes it’s Crystal floating unconscious in the water] Crystal! [he dives into the water and pulls Crystal out]
Keera: Oh my God! She’s just a little girl.
Damien: Crystal! Crystal, can you hear me?
Crystal: Mmmmm.....
Damien: Crystal?
Crystal: [coughing up water] D...Damien? Thank goodness I found
you.
Damien: [hugging her] You’re okay. I was scared I lost you
Crystal: Damien, I have to tell you something...[falls unconscious]
Damien: What is it? Crystal? Crystal!
Keera: It’s okay. She just needs to rest. Maybe we should make
a fire so she can warm up. [later, they all are around a fire. Crystal is still sleeping] So how do you know each other?
Damien: Crystal and I go way back. She’s like a little sister to
me. We both work together.
Keera: What do you do?
Damien: Oh! Um...well we...um...(what the hell do I tell her?)
Crystal: What happened?
Damien: Oh look! She’s awake! Are you okay, Crystal?
Crystal: Yes, I’m fine [remembering what happened] You’re both
in danger!
Keera: Danger?!
Crystal: Yes yes! And Destiny was attacked by Lord Tomodochi
and he blasted me into the moat...
Damien: Slow down, Crystal.
Crystal: ...and Lord Tomodochi is your father!
Damien: Crystal, I can’t...WHAT!?!?!
Keera: Who’s Lord Tomodochi?
Damien: He’s the ruler of these lands...he’s my father!?
Crystal: Yes! I over-heard everything! He’s gonna take steal your
soul if you don’t give him [pointing to Keera] hers!
Keera: My soul!? Damien?
Damien: Keera, let me explain...
Crystal: There’s no time! Destiny’s in trouble! [she runs off]
Damien: Wait Crystal! You’re not well. You need to rest!
Crystal: I can rest after we save Destiny.
Keera: [Damien and Keera run after her] Damien, what’s going
on?
Damien: Lord Tomodochi is a Soul Stealer
Keera: A Soul Stealer?
Damien: Yes. He survives by ripping the souls out of humans and
feeding off of their dreams. My job is to bring him
those humans.
Keera: [she stops running] Like me.
Damien: [stops running too] I won’t lie to you...
Keera: What do you mean you won’t lie to me?! You’ve been
deceiving for the past six nights!
Damien: Yes. That was what I normally do. But then I got to know
you better. You’re different from any other girl I met.
Keera: Oh! So I’m not the first girl you’ve tricked, am I? What
happened to those girls after you sold their souls away?
Damien: After the soul is gone, the human body cannot awake.
They’re not dead, but they’re not alive either. They’re
minds stay in the Astral Planes and they don’t wake up.
Keera: Oh my God. That mystery illness that’s been going around.
Those people weren’t sick at all, were they? They just had
they’re soul ripped from they’re body! My soul will be next,
won’t it?
Damien: I promise I won’t let him hurt you.
Keera: No, you’d probably take my soul. You’re his son, right? So
that would make you a Soul Stealer too.
Damien: I didn’t even know I was his son until just now! [Keera begins to walk away but he grabs her arm and stops her] Keera,
you have to believe me! With all my heart, all my soul,
with every fiber of my being, I love you.
Keera: [pulling away from him as tears begin to form in her eyes]
I don’t know you, so I would appreciate it if you didn’t
touch me. [she runs off]
[Damien watches her run off as Crystal appears]
Crystal: What are you waiting for? We have to help Destiny! Hey,
where’d Keera go?
Damien: She won’t be coming with us. Let’s go.
[they arrive at the castle. when they reach the inside, they find Destiny on the ground unconscious. they rush over to her]
Damien: Destiny!
Crystal: Destiny, it’s us! Wake up! Wake up.
Lord Tomodochi: [emerging from the shadows] Crystal, I’m
surprised to see you looking so well. A normal
child would never have survived such a fall
unscathed.
Crystal: Yeah! Well, I’m no normal child!
Lord Tomodochi: [facing Damien] And I suppose she’s told you
everything.
Damien: What? You mean you attacking Destiny and her and,
oh yeah! You being my father!
Lord Tomodochi: It’s true. I am your father, Damien.
Damien: So, I’m a Soul Stealer too, I suppose.
Lord Tomodochi: You’re only half Soul Stealer. For you see, your
mother was human.
Damien: And what happened to her?
Lord Tomodochi: Well, when she found out the truth about me,
she instantly hated me. She crushed my dreams,
so I took hers away.
Damien: You sick twisted bastard!
Lord Tomodochi: You and Destiny are starting to sound a lot
alike, you know that?
Damien: How could you take my mother away?
Lord Tomodochi: She didn’t only hate me. When she realized you
were a Soul Stealer as well, she despised you as
much as she despised me. Soul Stealers and
humans were never meant to love each other.
Damien: That’s not true. I love Keera, a human.
Lord Tomodochi: But does she love you? Tell me, were is she
now? Why isn’t she here. Because the moment
she found out the truth about you, she hated
you.
Damien: No! I didn’t want her to get hurt, so I told her not to
come.
Lord Tomodochi: You can’t lie to me. I can see the devastated
look in your eyes. [Damien looks away]
Damien: When she found out who I really was, she ran off without
even looking back.
Lord Tomododhi: I am willing to overlook this outburst from you if
you agree to bring her to me.
Damien: ...Never
Lord Tomodochi: What?
Damien: I said never! I will never let you harm her!
Lord Tomodochi: How can you still be in love with her? After
what she’s done to you.
Damien: I don’t care! I love her and I know deep down, she loves
me too.
Lord Tomodochi: You will pay for your insolence! [Tomodochi lunges at Damien. Damien jumps out of the way. Crystal pulls a sword from a knight statue]
Crystal: Damien! Catch! [with great effort, she throws the sword and Damien catches it just before Tomodochi strikes. the fight continues all across the room. Crystal had pulled Destiny into a corner so they would be out of the way. after some time Tomodochi is able to knock the sword out of Damien’s hand and backed him into a wall]
Lord Tomodochi: Any last words, Damien?
Damien: Burn in Hell.
[Tomodochi smirks and is ready to strike when from out of no where Keera knocks herself into Tomodochi. all three fall. Damien goes over to Keera]
Damien: Keera. I don’t understand. I thought you hated me.
Keera: I did. But then I couldn’t stop thinking about our time
together and I knew that I loved you.
Damien: I’m sorry I hurt you, Keera
