   What a trip....
So, I'm back from St. Louis! The trip was amazing! Our hotel was about a five minute walk from the World Series and right across the street from the Arch. I spent most of the day on Thursday and Friday going to workshops for the conference, but we got to play around at night.

Thursday night we ended up going to this blues club and listened to this band. It was pretty sweet. And we had a lot of fun. Friday night, however, was absolutely amazing. It was game five in the series and everyone was in a festive mood. We watched the game while we were at dinner, then decided to walk down to the stadium since it was the top of the ninth with one out left for the Cards to win. Right when we got there, the crowd in the stadium erupted in cheers and everyone in the streets broke out in a sprint to the stadium. We all started cheering and high-fiving each other, and jumping up and down and hugging. Wow. Then we somehow managed to get into the stadium. Yes, that's right, WE GOT IN THE STADIUM AT THE WORLD SERIES! We were taking pictures like crazy.

After all that excitement, we decided it was too early to go to bed, so we hung out in the hotel bar celebrating some more with fans and people from the conference. I got hit on by a drunk fan who went to the games, which was kind of amusing since his pick up lines sucked. "Hey, so do you have a dude?" "No." "Do you want one?" "No." Oh, baby, how could I resist? *please sense the sarcasm* Anywho, one of the guys with our group (who unfortunately happened to be my ex) decided that the situation looked "threatening" and took it upon himself to "rescue" me. Which was a nice thought and all, but seriously, did he have to go brag about it to the guys afterwards? My friend Dustin said that he made it out like the guy had me slung over his shoulder and was about to whisk me off to his room to do bad things to me. Which was not the case. They were just saying stupid pick up lines and I was laughingly declining and about to walk away. Oh gees...some guys and their ego trips...And of course it doesn't help that I'm fiercely independent. It's not the first time I've been hit on by drunk guys, and it probably won't be the last....

Anywho, so I had a really fun trip, but now I must get caught up on the classes that I missed. Oh, and decide what costume I want to wear around on Tuesday...I'm thinking Elena...
