honor in death
awile ago I leared about samurai ideals. I fround them interesting. Samurai believed that since death comes to us all eventually. preserving ones honor came before preserving ones life. they would ritually kill themselves by committing seppuku. rather than die a dishonorable death. captuered samurai would kill themselves because of the shame of defeat. I think i might write more about this later.
