Chapter 13: Mysteries Revealed!

The Private quarters of Lord Ikkilion (3rd inline to become High Priest of Chaste)

‘Well,’ Ikkilion began, ‘your probably wondering why you’re here.’
‘Were ‘ere ‘cos you said, “Please come into my private quarters.”’ Coarse replied.
‘Yes, I did say that.’ Ikkilion said while smiling slightly (1)‘I brought you to Chaste because you may be able to help me. I was going to Harofeld because I had been informed that Orcolph Hitlaar escaped from Prison for Evil People and that, for some reason, was interested in the Ogre Convention/Meeting. I also discovered that the Flagitious Skiff was also heading to Harofeld. The Flagitious Skiff is the large object you saw in the sky. We don’t know if there is a connection between the two, but it is of little importance. The Flagitious Skiff belongs to Vice Potent Blade, he is a man who controls legions of demons and evil men(2) . He possess great power and we need to stop him.’

‘Just one question.’ Brigand interrupted, ‘How can a person poses power? I’ve heard of ghosts and things possessing people.’
Ikkilion’s draw dropped. He never knew someone could be so stupid. The fate of the world is in this man’s hand. We’re doomed, Ikkilion thought.
‘Eh-hem, gentleman, (and idiot Ikkilion mentally said), Vice obtained his power several years ago. The story goes that there was a great power that brought the lands to despair, but a hero stood fourth, he couldn’t defeat the evil, so he sealed it inside an object. Somehow Vice found the object and extracted the power from it. Luckily, the hero made a plan in case the power was released. His heir can seal it away again, but he needs the object. After months of searching, we believe we have found his heir.’
Coarse lowered his hands from his mouth. ‘Do you know what the object his?’ he asked.
‘No.’ Replied Ikkilion. ‘We think that the heir will poses the object.’
‘Wouldn’t it be funny if his heir was the object?’ Salvador said.
‘I wish it were that simple Mr. Baracondarg.’ Ikkilion sighed. ‘Anyway. We want you three to confront the heir. Bring him to us. Do you understand?’
‘Yes.’ Our heroes said in unison.
‘Good, you shall leave immediately. You will be travelling to Mantra Colapadadle.’
‘Okay, we’re ready Coarse said clenching his fist.’
Ikkilion smiled and muttered in agreement.


(1)He didn’t find what Brigand said was funny; he just can’t believe how stupid he is.

(2)And evil women (this is so I can’t be called Sexist).
