This is what we've waited for...

"99 Red Balloons" (or Luftballoons as it were...) by Nena, also covered by many a punk/ska band including 2 of my faves; Goldfinger and Reel Big Fish!

Well...I am excited!! Today I crossed into the top half of the top 500 ~and~ got up to 1000 hits on my site!!

Ok, so this is actually a bit premature...it only says 996 right now, but I know as soon as I make this post several other of you late nighters will come by and make it 1000 so thanks!!! Let's see...I'm betting on Chie, Panda, Fallen...maybe Sessho-chan...and a few others, I wonder who will be #1000?

Well, yes, unfortunately Dave tried to fix this network business for us for an hour this evening and finally gave up and said to just get another modem from the cable company. That might take a while though so I brought my computer inside since I'm sick of using Grace's. She is a huge solitare addict and I know she was wanting to play at night. I was feeling kinda guilty for tying it up. Oh, just so you know we really tried, Dave is not just some run of the mill ex of my mom's, he's one of the system administrators for the whole network at the University of Florida!

Today I went to try and get my evening/night job at Satchel's but he said I need to wait a few weeks so he can see how business goes after being closed 10 days. I will only be working with Nick from 8-12 on school days so I was hoping to work at the restaruant like, 4-11 or something. That way I'd have the afternoon free to play with Hikari and stuff.

This afternoon I helped Alexis (Grace's granddaughter) with her summer math packet and talked to Christine (her mom) about tutoring and picking up the kids from school and stuff. She always said if her husband would let her she would pay me to just be their nanny all the time, which would be cool, but she can't so it doesn't matter. They're going out of town for labor day weekend though which means I get to stay at the house w/the kids and make a lot of money!!

Tim found out that he had to be out of his appartment tonight, but couldn't move into his new house till Friday so we spent the evening packing up his stuff and moving it to my dad's garage. It was relatively quick and painless though compared to moving me back here from Texas! Then we went and had dinner at Cracker Barrel. All in all, a pretty good day, I guess.

Today's stolen anime is Detective Conan (aka Case Closed). I only had one tape so far...

I updated my intro today and now that I have my computer online I would like to announce the return of my "Usagi Story". That's right, "An Unfinished Love Story" will start over tomorrow night at part 1. I debated whether or not I should just pick up where I left off, but I decided I've made a lot of new friends in the past few months and I hope they'd all like to read it. More on that tomorrow though. Goodnight everybody! *hugs* Thanks again!!

The smiles returning to their faces...

"Here Comes the Sun" by The Beatles

Mission accomplished! My brother has been safely returned to us from Alaska. He had a great time but was really tired. I got to see some really cool pics on his digital camera of glaciers and even a bear! He brought me a light blue hat (you know, the kind you wear in winter) that says ALASKA on the front. It's funny b/c when I was 19 (which he is now) I went to New York to visit someone and brought him a hat like that which said, guess what, NEW YORK, across the front!

I managed to stay awake till about 9 am but fell asleep as my dad was driving us back home. I slept till about 3pm and then Tim came over to meet Hikari and we ordered pizza. We were going to go swimming but there was a little bit of a storm (Florida is like that) so we stayed inside and talked about stuff instead. Then I took another nap from 8-10 and watched Finding Nemo. Not a very eventful day, but still a good one. Tomorrow the restaurant reopens and I'll go ask Satchel for a night job, wish me luck!

Today's stolen anime is Ruroni Kenshin *sniffle* I had 5 tapes recorded from TV and the Samurai X movie downloaded. Doesn't Sano look so cute in this pic? And I just love Aoshi!

Heero: You know that picture yesterday wasn't very appropriate.
Katy: Ah, the fangirls liked it
Duo: I liked it!
Heero: You're a freak.
Katy: Heh, well that's ok, everyone is sometimes. Waah! I want to read Fruits Basket!
Duo: I know! I can't believe you didn't buy vol. 4 at the airport.
Katy: I didn't even know it was coming out so soon and I promised myself I wouldn't buy so much! *sniff* What am I gonna do?
Heero: I think you're doing a fine job of showing restraint
Duo: Who cares about that? I want more mangas to read!
Katy: Me too!
Heero: *rolls eyes* They're hopeless...

Your presence dominates the judements made on you...

"Never is a Promise" by Fiona Apple

Hee hee, well, yep, I have to stay awake for about 2 more hours so I can wake my dad up. We're going to pick my brother up from the airport in Orlando b/c he's coming home from his vacation...in Alaska!! I can't wait to see all the pictures. Satchel closed the restaurant and gave everybody a 10 day paid vacation b/c they made so much money this year. What a cool boss!

Anyway, today (Monday) was rather eventful I suppose...I got an oil change and took Hikari rollerblading for the first time. I used to take Artax (mine and Chris's great dane) all the time but Hikari-kun was always too small. He still hasn't learned not to pull on the leash, but he can't go very fast on his short little legs so it's ok. He was kind of all over the place, but at least neither one of us knocked the other one down! I didn't get to go mess with my mom's scanner yet b/c I had to work on the car and appartment, but maybe tomorrow night I will...I started on a new pic of Chibi-Usa in her Super Sailor Scout form. She looks way too old though and I need to fix something about her chin...yeah, I think that's the problem anyway. I also got to go read Gravitation vol. 5 at Borders while I waited for my dad to get off work. I really like the way Yuki's personality is evolving. I don't think vol. 7 has even been released yet so I'm gonna have to read some other stuff for a while since I'll probably read 6 later on this week. Oh well, once school starts I won't be able to read manga all the time like this anyway.

Actually, we were supposed to pick up my brother (Tim) at 9:30 tonight but his flight out of Juneau got delayed for mechanical problems so he missed his connection in Seatle and had to wait there 6 hours! He won't get to Orlando till 6:30 this morning. I think he just got on the plane (finally!) about half an hour ago (10pm PST). My dad and I ate some spaghetti and then we tried to set up my new bookshelf. For some reason the directions were missing though so we had to go over to Target and get some from another box. By the time we got it together it was 11pm and my dad wanted to go home and sleep so I finished putting the shelves in and then spent about an hour setting up my DBZ, Sailor Moon, and Hello Kitty toys on the top. I know, that sounds excessively long, but I had a limited amount of space and I had to get it just right. Plus, a lot of them had come apart in the box (well, what can you expect from capsule toys?) Haha, anyway, I'm really hyper right now from all this sugar!! Yaya!! Someone stop me!

Today's stolen anime is *sniff* Yu Yu Hakusho. I had 4 tapes recorded from TV, a DVD of the 4 episodes when they first meet and rescue Yukina (that Tim gave me for Christmas 2 years ago!), and the movie downloaded and copied to tape. We had this really cool thing in our computer that allowed it to connect to the TV and got a lot of stuff on tape that way.

Duo: *sniff* I can't believe you put that picture up!
Katy: Oh, it's not like I like any of those boys! You know who they all belong to anyway.
Duo: *pouts* You don't even remember!
Katy: Remember what?
Duo: Waaahhhh!
Heero: Oh, shut up! You are starting to sound like that Shuichi kid!
Katy: What's his problem?
Heero: I thought you had a good memory! You broke your promise to him.
Duo: *sniffle* Yeah! *hides behind Heero* I'm never speaking to you again!
Katy: What? What promise? What are you talking about?
Duo: *peeks out* You promised there would always be a picture of me on your site and their hasn't been one for 2 whole days!!
Katy: Uh...whoops...I got so caught up in this stolen animes thing that I forgot. I'm sorry Duo-kun *hugs him*
Duo: *hugs back* It's ok, but put a really good one tonight, please?
Heero: And suddenly he's speaking to her again...*rolls eyes*
Duo: *turns to Heero* What are you still doing here anyway? I thought you were just going on vacation with us?
Heero: Well, um....you see... *looks uncomfortable*
Katy: It's ok, Heero-kun, you can stay with us as long as you want! *hugs him*
Heero: *growls* Hey! Hands off!

Isn't this just scrumptious? Ah...hee hee, well that got a bit long, sorry! Hope everyone has a great day! *hugs*

Today was just a day fading into another, and that can't be what a life is for...

"Amy Hit the Atmosphere" by Counting Crows

The rest of today was uneventful. I goofed around on the computer, went to watch Shrek 2 with my dad, and then we had BBQ chicken for dinner. I had already seen that movie but I was glad to go again. Last time I didn't get to watch the credits. Most people don't watch them but my parents always did so I'm in the habit of it. After the main titles they had a cute little part with Donkey and Dragon's children that I had missed out on before so, yeah, I was happy to see that. They were so adorable!

After dinner I went to Borders and finished Gravitation vol.3 and read vol.4. I hope they get some more in soon b/c they only have up to vol.6 and I know I'll finish those this week. Then I came back here and nearly broke the router antenna thingy for real it was making me so mad. I've done everything I can to fix it and I still can't get a signal from this computer!! AAhh! I was totally frustrated so I went back to my room and colored my Rei pic from earlier this summer to calm me down. Now that I've got 4 fanarts finished I think I will go try and figure out my mom's scanner tomorrow. It's probably not that hard, but she doesn't have a clue about it and never installed the software since she just wanted to use the printer/copier functions of the thing (it's also a fax machine...)

Photobucket is having issues this evening but today's stolen anime is going to be Lupin III (finally done with all the gundam ones) I had 3 tapes full of the TV series and the Castle of Cagliostro movie. I'll see if I can post it later.

wow! that was a quick fix, only 10 minutes later!

She's out there on her own and she's alright...

"Sunny Came Home" by Shawn Colvin

Well, I almost made it, I stayed up till 8am checking peoples sites and watching Saikano (oh so beautiful!) but then I thought "I'll just rest for a bit before I get dressed" and the next thing I knew Dave (my mom's ex) was calling me on my cell to say he was on his way over. It was ok though b/c I just went to apply for jobs after he left. Unfortunately he couldn't get the network up for us b/c the signal isn't strong enough to carry through so many thick cinderblock walls so he's working on getting us something called homeplug ethernet which allows you to use your electrical wiring like ethernet somehow.

I did a whole lot of things today after that. First I went to talk to the people at the private school where my mom, Grace, Christine, and I all used to work at different times. The director wasn't there though so I have to go back in the morning. Then I applied at this cool preschool/daycare place called O2BKids and I have an interview tomorrow. Wish me luck!

After that I went and got my new Florida drivers' liscence and then waited around at my mom's for the UPS to deliver the last 9 boxes of stuff we mailed. As I was putting them in the car to leave I realized there were only 6 which meant 3 were missing, one of which was my sewing machine. I just shrugged it off figuring they would come tomorrow (even though they told us it would be today...) and was driving off when I saw the truck coming back into the neighborhood. The driver looked a bit flustered and I got kinda curious, and hopeful, and followed him. Sure enough he was going back to my mom's house so I got him to put the last 3 in my car. It's a good thing too b/c if something happened to that sewing machine my mom would have had a major fit since she paid like $600 for it. I don't really sew much, I suck at it, but she's really into it and wants me to be too.

Ok, well that was kind of boring wasn't it? Here's a funny story. While I was waiting for the UPS I got hungry and ordered a pizza. I only ate 2 slices and brought the rest back over here. I knew that if I brought it inside Hikari would get it so I left it in the car for a bit while I washed the mini fridge that Grace had in the garage. Then I set it up and put the pizza away and went to take a shower. When I came back though Hikari had opened the refrigerator with his paw or something and eaten ~all~ 6 slices that were left! He was just grinning from ear to ear too, like he just had the biggest treat ever! Ahh, puppies.

Today's stolen anime is my favorite of the short Gundam Series' - The 8th MS Team!

I love this show b/c it's so emotional, so it gets to have 2 pics!

Try to start looking for the brighter side...

"Outcast Welcome Home" by Less Than Jake...thanks to Escher for inadvertantly helping me choose tonight's lyric!

So...I'm trying to stay up all night so I don't sleep too late in the morning again. Weird, I know, but I wanted to go apply for a couple of preschool jobs today and couldn't b/c I woke up too late. So, hopefully I'll go do that around 9 and then my mom's ex-boyfriend is coming over at noon to help me troubleshoot this wireless router and adapter (I'm pretty good with technical stuff, but sometimes...) and then I can just go to sleep when he leaves. If I'm lucky I'll get one of those jobs and have to get on a regular sleeping schedule soon so I might as well stay up while I can, right?

Today I woke up at around 1:30 and Christopher and Alexis were over (the Rin kid from before and his big sis, Grace is thier grandma) and they wanted me to take them bowling. I couldn't though b/c I had to go get a new cell # which took over an hour! By the time I got back Christopher had to go to football practice so we're going to try to go Thursday instead.

The rest of the day I just ran some more errands. I got a bookshelf and replaced all my missing cords and cables. I also got 2 new Playstation games from Rhino Video (the best game store ever!) b/c they were only $15 each and buy 2 get one free! (I had 3 but Hikari chewed up Final Fantasy Tactics in the 5 minutes I left it in my room to go to the bathroom!) I got Galerions, which is 3 disks long and may be a bit hard for me, and Gundam Battle Assault 2 in which you get to be Heero, Domon, and Amuro in different parts. After that I went to Borders and finished reading Gravitation vol. 2. It was sooo awesome! I also got the last volume of Paradise Kiss, but I'm not going to read it until I find the first 4 (in some box...) and can read them all together.

Well, I guess that's about it for tonight...thanks to everyone who has commented lately. It's great to be back for good and to know I was missed. *hugs everyone* You guys are so great! Today's stolen anime is G Gundam, I had the whole TV series recorded on about 3 tapes...

I set off running, to wake from a dream...

"I Hung My Head" by Sting

Well, no weird dreams last night, thank goodness. That song's from the cd my dad always uses to wake me up! I'm not really tired right now but I should be in bed since I have to get up really really early to leave for writer's camp. I'm kinda nervous but I know it will be fun just the same.

Today my dad took my car to work so I could have his to take up to N.C. It's a lot newer than mine which needs some work done on it. He said he would take care of it while I was out of town, isn't that nice? My brother is totally jealous, hee hee, he loves my dad's Camry for some reason. Me, I love my li'l Civic, but it is very old, I'm actually surprised it made it all the way here from Texas with no problems.

I tried to go visit my friend AJ today but he wasn't home. AJ is the reason I got into anime in the first place. A ~long~ time ago I used to babysit for him and his big sister Selena and he would always show me his new toys and the drawings he did. Since he wasn't home though I visited Christopher and Alexis instead. I also used to babysit them, but a lot more seriously, like over whole weekends and stuff. I guess you could say that I am to them what Susan always was to me. Their mom and I always called each other cousins since our moms used to tell people they were sisters! Right now I'm trying to find a pic of Alice and Rin from Please Save My Earth(an old favorite that I always seem to forget about) to post b/c Christopher and I are a lot like them. He's kind of a brat, never listens to his mom, but always to me, and got really really upset when Chris (isn't it weird they have the same name?) and I were engaged. I don't think of him as my long lost soul mate or anything of course (he's nine for crying out loud!) but I do love him very dearly. But anyway, the page is giving me troubles so I'll come back and add it if I get one before I go to bed. See you all in about a week!

EDIT: Yay! I found the one I want!

I changed my quizes again too since I'll be gone a while, it's a Harry Potter theme this time!

   Don't let it fade...

"Dreams" by The Cranberries

I have been having weird dreams lately. Last night I dreamed that I was in some kind of military force that was fighting off aliens. Our commander called us "dappers" for some reason... and we had these really cool laser guns. All I remember was we were defending this base or something and we were winning but I kept having this feeling that what we were doing was wrong. And I think there was some white water rafting mixed in there somewhere too, at least, I kept seeing rapids... The night before last I dreamt I was in prison. It was really scary! It was one of those dreams where you wake up and it still feels real and you think, 'Was that just a dream or was it an out of body experience?'

Ok, I think this post might be a little long b/c I am leaving town again on Saturday for writer's camp and I don't know if I'll get to post tomorrow night. I probably will but it will be short so I can get up early to leave. Today was uneventful. My mom got all excited about me coming to live here and told a bunch of people about it. I kind of wish she hadn't though b/c after talking to my dad about it I might still want to move back to Baton Rouge. That's where my friends are after all. I know I could afford it if I could get a job quick enough and then I could keep my animals too so that would be great! My dad always has a way of putting things into perspective calmly. He's the exact opposite of my mom, who likes to rush ahead as soon as she thinks of doing something. That's how we went through six religions while I was growing up. Anyway, here's me and my daddy again b/c I love him so much! I know it's from the same episode as the last one but I wanted to post it anyway.

Well, anyway, tonight I had to pick up my mom's guitar player's son from his drivers' ed class. (that was a mouthful!) Then we got to go eat for free at the place they were singing called Cabana Cove. It was pretty good, I had coconut shrimp. Now I feel kind of funny though so I hope it was ok to eat. When I got back to my dad's there was this big bright green frog on his doorstep and it stayed there and let me take a bunch of pictures of it. It was so cool!

Now before I go I must say a great big THANK YOU!! to all my wonderful otaku friends especially Chie-chan, Miyo-chan and Donnie-san for cheering me up and helping me to figure out what to do about my problems and just generally being there for me. I love you guys! *hugs everyone*

One of my most favorite Duo and Heero pics ever!

You were only waiting for this moment to arrive...

"Blackbird" by the Beatles

Well, today I had to get up at 7 and go to work with my dad. He's the director of CARD at the university here which works with kids with Autism and other disabilities. All this week they're sponsoring a training class on literacy for parents and teachers of those kids so we had to go and be in charge of coffee and snacks and stuff. It was ineresting to listen, to sort of. I wrote a whole fanfic in my head and drew a lot of pictures of Hello Kitty during most of it so I had a pretty good time either way.

In the evening my dad had yet another meeting so I went up to Borders and read all of the first Gravitation manga and started on the second. There's four chapters in each and I only read one out of book 2 but I've still got a few more days here if I want to read more. I finally changed the quizes on the bottom of my page too. I didn't try to get those results, it just happened and I noticed it so I put them all up together. Bulma, Vegeta, and Bulma and Vegeta. Weird...

And now it's time for another Gundam Wing pic!

Proof that Duo really is the lazy one!
