Can the child within my heart rise above...

"Landslide" by Fleetwood Mac (or Stevie Nicks their singer) Nichole danced with her dad to this song at the wedding reception and it was the only time I cried during the whole thing b/c the only reason I even like this band is b/c of my dad. So....here we are!

My mom's not dead obviously, like Sakura's mom, but my dad will never get remarried for, well, many reasons. He acts a lot like her dad though. We finally got to go rollerblading together today and he didn't fall down at all! I was so proud. Other than that I didn't really do much, talked to Beth on the phone about possible 4th of July plans and watched some TV, pretty relaxing. I think I've made a decision about where I want to live but I need to look into some job possibilities. I guess this will be a short post tonight b/c I can't think of anything else to say!

I'm so smart, too bad I can't get anything figured out...

"Falling for the First Time" by Barenaked Ladies - I guess I use them a lot too, huh? Well, for anyone who doesn't know them it's not as vulgar as it sounds, just a bunch of Canadian guys who I find rather funny and insightful.

So, today was a bit more fun than yesterday. I guess I should say tonight really, I don't ever do things during the day. I woke up around noon and read about half of my new Holic manga. I'm working on the rest right now while I wait for pages to load. I think I have been to everyone's sites who left me comments so far so I just have a few others to catch up on.

I waited around most of the afternoon for my dad to come home and rollerblade with me but he had to work late so I went alone. Hopefully tomorrow we will get to go. Around 6 I took a shower and went out to get movie tickets for my brother and me. Then the two of us went to eat at Satchel's (that's the pizza place where he works) b/c our mom's band was going to play there from 7-10. We only stayed till about 9 though b/c the movie was at ten. They mostly sing old folk music which only grown ups like, but we grew up listening to it so it's not so intolerable, except when she starts playing the tambourine and dancing... *shudder*

I'll probably post one more real people picture from Nichole's wedding tomorrow and then I'll go back to my anime pics of my friends and I.

So....did you gues what movie I saw with my brother? Spiderman 2 of course! It was really great! A lot of it was sad, but that's how it is for poor Peter Parker. There were some cheesey jokes at parts too, but it was ok. I won't spoil anything for anyone though! Oh! The other thing I did in between getting the tickets and dinner was go to Best Buy! I know, I'm a glutton. I've been hearing a lot from friends about Gravitation though and the first DVD came out yesterday complete with collector's box and a cute li'l VIP backstage pass with a picture of Shuichi and Yuki on one side and VIP really big on the other side with some people I don't recognize since I haven't watched it yet. Then, since we were early for the movie we walked over to Borders and I sat down and read the first chapter of the Gravitation manga. It was pretty cool, I may go back and read more if I get bored this week. Ok, scratch that, I'll be going back.

When little Nikki started to grind...

"Darlin' Nikki" by Prince

Heh, heh, that was Nichole's theme song in high school. Here's a picture from the wedding reception of all of us. (Me, Melanie, Tiffany, Nichole and Beth)

Well, today was very relaxing. I tried to get online earlier but by the time I woke up (2:45!!) and ate a bagel my dad was home. We took the dog for a walk and went out to eat with my brother. Then he went to a meeting and I went to my brother's appartment to watch South Park. Oh, we also went to Borders and I got to get xxxHolic volume 2! I can't wait to read it. Tomorrow should be better though, we're going to hear my mom's band at the restaurant where my brother works and the see Spiderman 2!

So, the wedding. The wedding the wedding, it's all I've talked about for months isn't it? I'd have to say it couldn't have been more perfect. A lot of weddings end up being totally miserable experiences, especially for the bride, but not this time. But, let me start at the beginning...

On Wednesday Beth, Tiffany, Erin and I flew up to Pennsylvania. Nothing much happened. Then on Thursday we had Nichole's bachelorette party. We kicked her out of the house and spent the whole day decorating and cooking and stuf. Well, kind of, Beth spent the whole day giving orders and I spent the whole day enforcing them, so we really didn't do much of the work ourselves except for me making macaroni and cheese (not from a box, the baked kind). For Nichole's sake I'll spare you the details of what went on at her house that night and at the bar later on, but you can be sure a good time was had by all. I think there were about 8 girls altogether...

Friday was the rehearsal and dinner, which was pretty boring. I got to see Nichole's mom and brother though which was cool since she practically raised me and I haven't seen her in at least 2 years. After the dinner all the girls had to decorate the reception hall. I never realized just how much work went into a wedding on the part of all the people in it! It was fun though, since I'm not very good with flowers and little ribbons and stuff Andrea and I got sent outside to hang white lights. It ended up really pretty the next night so I'm glad we did.

That night, Nichole and Beth and I all slept in the same bed, which we haven't done in a ~really~ long time. We watched our favorite movie "The Breakfast Club". We can recite the whole thing, it's so funny! Then after Beth fell asleep Nichole and I watched "Fight Club" since she was really nervous and couldn't go to sleep. She was cracking me up because every five minutes she either asked me to explain a part of the movie (which she's seen 50 times) or remind her of something she had to do in the morning. I don't think we got much sleep that night, but she had a lot on her mind if you know what I mean...

Saturday of course was the wedding and the weather was perfect. The church it was at was really tiny (they didn't even have a bathroom!) and there was a stream running behind it so they got some great pictures from that. Everyone got to laugh too because the preacher accidentally called Nichole Michelle in the middle of the ceremony! We also got to ride in a limo, which I've never done before and it was really cool. There was free champagne and somewhere there's a picture of each of us girls drinking from the bottle. It's funny. On the way to the reception we squished the whole wedding party into it somehow and the driver stopped on some railroad tracks. This has always freaked me out even before I heard the ghost story about the tracks in San Antonio but I bet I could write a really good, really morbid story about dying on railroad tracks just after your wedding...

Hee hee, sorry about that! Just kinda came out... Anyway, the reception lasted till about 11 and then after Nichole and Dan went to their hotel everyone went to 'Uncle Rory's' house to party some more. He has a bar in his basement! So, yeah, we had lots of fun for another night. Then on Sunday Dan's parents had a BBQ at thier house. We all had to leave and take Tiffany to the airport though so we missed most of it. And Nichole gave us the wrong directions! Never send four southern girls to a tiny airport in the mountains alone...they ~will~ get lost! We drove 50 miles in the wrong direction and Tiffany almost missed her plane. Let me tell you that was not a pleasant ride for me with Tiffany freaking out and Erin chain smoking and Beth whining about both of them!

Of course it all worked out though and we got a good laugh out of it later. The other three of us left the next day and flew back to Tampa. We thought everything was going great but when we got to the airport parking lot, Beth's car had a flat tire! It was about to start storming too, there were all these black clouds and lots of thunder and lightning. All I could do at that point was burst out laughing! Luckily some nice man came along and helped us change the tire and then we helped him jump his engine.

The wedding picture on here is one of about 600 that are online so I'll probably post more, they're all really great! The area of Pennsylvania where they live is absolutely beautiful! They kind of live in the middle of nowhere and it's really safe, so that was cool, but I don't know if I could live away from some kind of city for that long.

Well, now that I've bored you with my incredibly long account let me say goodnight. It will most definitely take me a few days to get caught up on all your sites again, so sorry! I will do my best though!

And the truth is, I miss you so...

"Warning Sign" by Coldplay, because I missed you guys sooo much!

Well, this post will be short b/c I'm tired but I came to check comments and stuff anyway and I can't go to sleep without posting something! I had such an amazing time up in Pennsylvania with Nichole and everybody there. I'll probably post a detailed account in the morning (it's around 1 am right now) when I get up, so look for it! But know that I'm back in Florida at my dad's and I'll be here till July 9th before I have to leave and go somewhere else again. I'm already really sick of traveling though. So, since Nichole got married, here we are together. If you remember Holly is the Tomoyo to my Sakura but in this one Nichole is the Sakura to my Tomoyo. Werid, huh?

You can't second guess how to live your life...

"The last hour of the last day of work" by Less Than Jake

Well my friends, sadly I will not be able to post for a while again. Being on vacation does have its disadvantages. Just when I finally got through everyone's sites too, even the people who don't leave me comments! Oh well, it will give me something to do again when I get back here. I leave tomorrow (Wednesday) morning for Tampa where I will get on a plane to Pennsylvania with Beth. We're picking up Tiffany on our connecting flight in Cincinatti too so that will be cool. I have been talking about Nichole's wedding for so long now it has got to be getting old, huh? Well, it's not every day that one of your very best friends who you've known for 10 years gets married! So now we're really going, it's flight Wednesday, bachelorette party Thursday, rehearsal and dinner Friday, wedding Saturday, farewell BBQ Sunday (her family all lives in Michigan so it's really for them) and fly home Monday. Whew! Then I get to hang out in Gainesville until writer's camp starts July 10th. Did I mention my mother is driving me crazy? Well, to be fair, I'm driving her crazy too. Heh, guess if I do move back I'll be staying with my dad till I get some money saved up for my own place.

So today was another boring lazy day. After I finished checking people's sites this afternoon I washed some clothes and packed my suitcase. Beth called to ask me to bring an extra one b/c she bought so much stuff for the bachelorette party (I have no clue what) that it won't fit in her ~two~ suitcases she already has! I don't know if I want to know what's going on... So anyway, after that I went to my dad's for dinner b/c my mom was practicing with her band. Oh, did I mention she's in a band? I'll see if I can find some pics of them when I get back. I guess it's more like a group. There's a guy that plays guitar and a guy that plays an upright bass and her and this other lady sing. It's....interesting...

After dinner (mmm...bacon sandwiches...) my dad showed me a video of the concert for George (Harrison) that he taped from PBS a while ago when it was rerun. It was so sweet! I wanted to cry! I know he passed away a while ago, but it was still emotional, and you know I don't usually get like that, but something about watching it with my dad... The best part was when Paul McCartney came out and played "Something in the Way She Moves" with the band. It started out just him with a ukelale (sp?) and ended up everyone playing and Eric Clapton was singing with him too. It was all very surreal.

Loki (Vash) and Joe (Wolfwood) this one is actually cuter than the original one that never showed up! And below is what I ~think~ is a cute pic of all the boys, though I can't remember as I saved the url quite a while ago...

   I can't get enough, I'm not satisfied...

"Motown Never Sounded So Good" by Less Than Jake

Well, today(Monday) was a pretty boring day. I was supposed to call about getting my haircut but I didn't b/c my mom said the guy probably wouldn't have time anyway. I was supposed to go talk to my brother's boss about giving me a job since I might be moving back here, but I didn't b/c he was in a bad mood. He works at a pizza place, not like a delivery, but a real sit down and get waited on pizza place and the owner's wife works for our dad so I'm sure he'd hire me if I really wanted him to but....I'm not ready to commit to living here again just yet. My mother is driving me insane already!!!

As for what I actually ~did~ today, well it wasn't much. I went shoe shopping for Nichole's wedding and ended up with two different pairs that I'll decide between once I get up there in a few days. My brother came over here for dinner again and we watched "Pirates of the Carribean" since my mom borrowed it from the library. I'd seen it a long time ago in the theater but I remembered it being better than it actually was. Oh well. Then I talked to Beth about more bachelorette party plans, she's really going all out. If I had been in charge all Nichole would have ended up with is a stripper and a keg (neither of which will actually be there). Guess it's a good thing I wasn't...

Oh and this one's for Chie and any other Trowa fans out there...Michiko if she ever bothers to check!

Mommy's alright, Daddy's alright, they just seem a little weird...

"Surrender" by Less Than Jake

This pic is Loki (Vash) and Joe (Wolfwood)

Heh, uh....sorry bout that weirdness there. I am a bit frustrated. So, anyway, today of course was Father's Day. I slept until almost 3pm and then my mom and I worked on fitting my bridesmaid dress. Did you know that bridal shops will purposely measure you wrong so that you have to pay them more to alter the dress? That's what she said anyway. I dunno....I'm lucky enough to have a mom that is an awesome seamstress so it doesn't much matter!

My brother and I went out to eat at Carraba's with our dad tonight so that was pretty cool. It's an Italian place in case you've never heard of it. We go there for nearly every holiday that the three of us are together for some reason. After that we went back to my dad's house and watched Zoolander since it was on TV. It's a pretty funny movie I guess. Ok, for watching on TV anyway. That's about it for my boring day. I'm still apologizing for not getting to everyone's sites yet. I have made it to a total of 8 now but it's taking long b/c I have a lot of catch up reading to do. Gomen minna! Be patient with me please! I'm going to try to put another pic of me and Shannon down here now but don't be surprised if it's a red X. The world apparantly does not want you to see us...

there's two just for the heck of it.

Welcome to her busy dizzy life...

"She's Gonna Break Soon" by Less Than Jake

Wow! I feel so loved! Thanks so much to everyone who has commented in the last few days. It is nice to be missed! I must apologize again though for not getting to everyone's sites yet. I'm working on it but I think I've only made it to about 4 people's in the past 2 days because everytime I try to get online people keep coming over and talking to me or calling or something. It's ok though, I like being here, I really do. My mom is at a dance though so she won't be back for a while. She's into swing, zydeco and contra dancing which apparantly a lot of people her age are...

I was woken up today by my brother's cat Taran snuggling up to me which is weird because he doesn't really like me that much. He's an orange tabby and he's so fat I once mistook him for a basketball when he was curled up in the corner of the garage! I kid you not, I thought it was a basketball. He's a smart kitty though, my mom keeps bells hanging from the doorknob of the front door and when he wants to go out he reaches up a paw and jingles them so you know. It's pretty cool.

This afternoon my brother came over and gave me a late birthday present which was the movie "The Triplets of Belleville". If you've never heard of it it's a French animated flick with no talking, just music. I had been dying to see it for a long time because the commerical made it look really fast and exciting. Unfortunately I was let down. It was slow and waaaay too quiet. I thought there would be a lot of music but there really wasn't. The story was pretty interesting anyway (it's about a kidnapping during the Tour de France) but it just wasn't what I expected.

After that I got to go see my brother's new appartment which was really nice. One of his roommates has posters of Pink Floyd and the Beatles everywhere which I thought was cool. We got to eat my mom's homemade macaroni and cheese tonight and last night too which was great! You may not think macaroni and cheese is any big deal, but trust me, it is.

Me an' Luke...

Luke is Holly's husband and for a while I didn't think he really liked me as anything more than his wife's friend but in the past 6 months I've found it to be otherwise, which is comforting. He's the kind of guy that if you go somewhere with him he pays for everyone there and will yell at you (in a good natured way) if you try to pay him back. If you hadn't guessed I'm not basing these friend pics on any kind of physical appearances but more on the relationships I have with the people or they have with others.

Well, since I'm still surfing for a pic as I write I guess I could talk a little about what I did in Baton Rouge. It wasn't much really. Monday I woke up at about 11:30 because Holly got to skip work. She works at a restaurant and her boss's teenage daughter wanted to work and offered to let someone go home that day. We mostly just hung around the house. Joe and Loki came to visit and they played some Yu-Gi-Oh with Luke when he got home. Tuesday Luke called in to work so we could go to Lowe's and Petco. He's working really hard on his garden and his fishtank so that was cool. I like looking at plants and animals, it's relaxing. Wednesday they both actually worked so I went to the mall and to visit Chris's mom. That was kind of weird. In the evening we went to On the Border with Joe and drank a bunch of margaritas. Then we went to see Harry Potter since they hadn't seen it and then I went to hang out at Shannon's while they went to sleep (it was after midnight by then). Thursday I slept most of the day and washed clothes and Friday I left, so, yeah, that was probably really boring to read. Sorry. The point was I was glad to see my friends b/c I really needed to a.have fun and b.get their advice about what to do now that my life is the exact opposite of what it was a year ago. So now I'm all caught up writing what has happened to me and I just have to see what has happened to you! Sorry, I'm slow, but I have till Wednesday before I have to go away from computers again. It's so good to be back for a while! *hugs everyone*

My past mistakes and those wasted days...

also from "Gainesville Rock City" I think I will stick to LTJ while I am in town..

Well, bleh, you can't see the pic from last night. I saw it when I first posted it and thought it was ok. It's Usagi and Seiya from Sailor Moon Stars (not Sailor StarFighter, ~Seiya~ that's important) I was gonna try and find another one but my mom's home now so I gotta be sociable...
