Birthday!
Yeah, well this is gonna be about my birthday, which was actually the 9th, but I didn't get around to writing about it until now. So anyway, I woke up Saturday morning at about 9 or 9:30 and got dressed and what not. Cherish called at some point and said she was coming at... was it 10 or 10:30? Anyway, one of the two. Amber said Friday she would be coming at 11, Lauryn had to go to her cousin's wedding, I called Noelle and told her we'd come to get her at 12 and no one could get a hold of Chelsea'.
So Cherri came when she said she would, after calling for some directions when they went too far down one road, and we messed around on the net and played air hockey. It was after 11 and Amber still wasn't here, so we called her and she had just woken up so she said she'd be here at 11:30. She came, we got Noelle, and then we were off to the movies. We were about halfway there and Chelsea' calls Amber's cell phone. So Amber gives the phone to me and my mom tells me to ask if she can come to our church and we'll get her there. So then I pass the phone to mom so she can give Chelsea's mom directions. So we turn around and go to meet them. Finally they get there and we get Chelsea'.
With all the delays we decided to go to the 4 o'clock movie instead of the one at 2, and go to the mall before the movies instead of after. So we go and walk around and me, Amber, and Cherish end up loosing Noelle and Chelsea' a few times but it was fun. They dragged us into the clothing stores, Amber and I dragged them into the Disney store, and Cherri and I dragged them into the bookstore. At some point in time we went to the food and Cherri got Subway and we ate at Sbarro's. Amber and I had baked ziti and Noelle and Chelsea' had pizza.
We'd decided to see Step Up at the movies and so we went in and for at least 20 or 30 minutes of stupid commercials we were the only ones in the theater. We were running around and yelling and laughing and having a grand ol' time. But then the previews started and 2 people came in, and then 3 or 5 more, and then 2 more. We were still loud cuz in our opinions they stole our theater, but we were at least civilized. And I really like the carpet at the movie theater. It's a funny swirly-gig pattern but it's really neat. Anyway.
Then we decided to go to Barnes & Noble. We looked at books and CD's and spent forever poring over all the journals that (most likely) none of us would really use except Noelle. We must have looked like idiots but it was fun. The interesting thing was the selections on the Summer Reading table. One book was titled Sex, Drugs, and Coco Puffs and the other was an "adult" book in Spanish. Then Noelle posed a very good question, just what have they been doing over the summer? It was funny though.
Then we ate supper at Taco Bell and then took Noelle, Cherish, Chelsea', and Amber home. And perhaps some of you are wondering about my lovely presents. I couldn't decide what I wanted, so it was just everyone's best guess. Cherri got me a book called Dragon Song, Chelsea' got me some stuff from Bath & Body works that smells really good, Snoellee gave me some money, and Amber is insistent on getting me an actual present instead of money and is therefore still on the search for just the right thing. I also got a blue stuffed dragon at Barnes & Noble.
My gifts from my family include books (A Great and Terrible Beauty, Fairyopolis, and The Book of the Dragon which I might add is wonderfully illustrated), CD's (Charmed: The Book of Shadows, The Phantom of the Opera soundtrack, and Carrie Underwood's CD), The Phantom of the Opera and March of the Penguins on DVD, a bottle cap craft book, and money. My grandmother also fixed me a birthday lunch Sunday and a lovely pig-pickin' cake.
