TKD test today.

So yes more Taekwondo talk.

It begins at 10:30am.

For my rank I need to know:
Taegeak 4
Self-defense 1 through 10.
Traditional punch 1 through 5.
One-step sparring 1 through 5.
Four-way attack 1 through 3.
Termonology
Sparring
Breaking
And yeah, that about covers it.

Hope I do well. Pray for me. ^_^

   Taekwondo tournament

The black belts all went first. Then everyone else began. Forms was the first one we did. I died in it...I was so nervous I forgot my whole form, except the first three movements. I got in last place with that in my division(5th). Horrid.

Next was sparring. That I did very well with. My first opponent was an asian girl my height, same belt. I kind of went crazy. I kicked her in the face four times, among other sides of the head, and made her fall on the hard wooden floor countless times. I wasn't intentionally trying to kick her in the face, but I didn't wear my glasses for sparring because I'd get injured, which has happened. So that made it more difficult. I did get the points, but I felt so bad. That floor was painful to fall on. I won that match. Then after the others in my division went I went again, against the other winner. The girl was also my height, but a lower belt. I've sparred her before during a test so I knew she was pretty good. I won this match aswell. So first place in sparring for my division.

Then came breaking. I broke the first board first try, then they realised it was the men's board(a little thicker), so they changed it. So I did that again, then I did my second board first hit. The notabomb was much more difficult. I can do it, but I've never done it with a target or board so it was strange. It took me a few trys with this but I did break it. Second place in breaking.

So overall I got in second place in the tournament with all my points tallied. ^_^

My feet hurt from my footwork on that hard wooden floor, and the top of my right foot is brused and scratched from the breaking, but it was well worth it. ^_^

*soaking feet*

I shall post pictures once they are developed.

   Tae kwon do tournament

Taekwondo interschool tournament this saturday!

I'm so excited, yet so nervous. I know what I'm doing, but when I'm being rated everything changes. I never was good with crowds such as that, but I want to compete so I'm forcing myself, and I already payed for it so I have to anyhow.

As I said, its an 'interschool' tournament, which means students from my TKD school will be competeing against Master Kang's. He owns both schools, but a previous student of his teaches at the one I goto while Master Kang teaches in another location. If that made any sense.

So, since it is an interschool, we're all going to be placed in divisions. For example, I will be placed against someone who is my size, is female, and has the same belt rank.

We will doing three sections. Breaking, sparring, and forms.

For breaking have to have three stations. You choose how you want to break them. I'm going to do a double-jump swing kick on the first board, a double-jump ax-kick from outside, then a Notabomb. I'll be judged on the difficulty level of the moves I use, and whether I break them of course.

Sparring, well thats using what you've learned on an opponent. One round for two minutes. Whoever gets the most points wins.

Each belt has a diffrent form to learn. Which is basically a series of movements that would help in a fight. I'm not sure how else to explain this.

Everyone gets points tallied from each of these.

So yeah, wish me luck. ^_^

Taekwondo troubles.

I recieved my green belt on Wed. But lately I feel like I don't deserve it. I don't know whats wrong with me, I've been having trouble with some of the more advanced kicks, and I mess up some of the basics for some reason aswell. Its really agrivating. I try to train at home, but my basement is too small for some kicks so that makes it difficult.

Bah, had to vent.

Teh strange.

So I went to a wedding last weekend in New York. My mom and her friend(Larry, who's youngest daughter's wedding we were going to attend)) picked me up thursday morning..well it was suppose to be, but it ended up being like 1PM. We drove, stopped a few times, then drove some more, stopped a few more times, then continued driving. Very eventful. x_x

We got to our hotel, the Clarion, in Scrantington, PA at about 10PM. The hotel was quite nice, despite the way the town looked. When I turned on the tv what do I find? The Matrix was on, how perfect. Heh.

The hotel was an hour and a half away from Larry's daughters. We we going to stay in a hotel near them, but it was $175 a night for a crappy room, when the hotel we stayed it was alot cheaper and much nicer. New York charges an arm and a leg for one night compared to Pennsylvania.

I've never been to New York so this was the first, and where we went there were alot of hillbillyish people(Monticelo, and Liberty, NY). Lol, for lack of a better term. There were also alot of Jewish people, I've never seen so many in my life. I have nothing against them, it was just so odd.

The wedding was in this park under a pavillion. It was very, er..diffrent. Christine(the bride, Larry's daughter)is really into the gothic style, or instead of stereotyping I'd say she's really into black. She wore a red dress with black boots that looked like they were bought at Hot Topic. John, the groom, wore a black zoot suit with a hat and kang. Very classy. The ceremony was interesting, compared to the traditional wedding.

They were married by the Justice of the Peace, then directly after a friend of hers read something out of this book about fourteen elements. The book was called Herbal Magic. Honestly I thought that was a little out there, but this is my opinion. I'm not into that kind of stuff.

I also found out some interesting news from Jennifer, the bride's older sister. Apparently their dad had called Christine, while drunk, and ended up telling her that him and my mom were engaged. News to me. I'm going to keep my mouth shut and wait untill my mom tells me. Jennifer thought I knew. So I guess I may have two step-sisters some day. o_O;

The drive home was just as long as getting there, except we made more random stops along the way. We ended up going off on this dirt road to explore somewhere in PA, and we picked tons of apples. I got home at 6PM sunday evening, so it was a rush trip.

A few days after I returned my brother started school again. It felt really odd seeing him get on the bus and realizing I'll never be doing that again, atleast not on a school bus.

Yesterday I had my Taekwondo test. I was very nervous, so I did end up messing up a few things, but all in all I think I did well. I won't know for sure untill Weds. however.
