Neosis
Neonsis Part 1
“My daughter, Athena, wake up” the sun is shining and it looks like a promising day.
“Mother I wish to sleep in.”
“Come now dear, get up and enjoy life”
“Ok, just five more minutes please?”
“Alright dear, no more or the Atlantians will get you…” she joked
“Thank you...” A high pitched squeal sounded over the town.
“Mary run!” yelled my dad.
I opened my eyes from my bed to see my mother short by a ball of dancing light. Her robes lit to flame around her body causing her to scream out in pain. Her smoldering body destroyed her beauty in an instant. I covered my head in my pillows and all went black….
A high pitched squeal sounded. The blue lights flooded the streets of Sparta. “Atlantians” yelled a soldier. A blue and black spear head shaped ship flew over him on the stone wall. I quickly grabbed my shield and spear. “Spartans CHARGE!” I yelled. My bronze helmet narrowed my vision making me run like a bull. My red cape added a wake to my charge. My bronze shield blocked all foes in my path. With “Avatar of Bane” in scripted in the middle of it, a wolf head pointing down, with a fiery background, a green crown upon the top of its skull, with red eyes, and a blood soaked fangs. In full armor we ran to the floating spear head in the town square. A squad of about 12 Atlans dropped out. Their green slick skin and blank blue eyes shined in the moon light. They had a silver armor that glowed in the moon lit night abroad there body and a royal blue cape draped over their backs.
Without missing a beat, I charged faster into the god-like demons. For years they have plundered our people and our basic rights; including my very own mother. That is why I Athena, fight with my brothers in battle. The black brushing fur that stood on top of my helmet acted like a fin, grabbing the cool night breeze. The Atlans reached for their side weapons. They pulled them out and aimed at us. Lightning casted from the small devices and struck by my feet. The air sizzled as I brought my shield to my body, blocking the god like weapons. Two of the Atlans grabbed crystal like sticks strapped to their belts. They brought the rod up and a blue lightning flame erupted out of the handle.
My eyes narrowed on one of the Atlans as it charged me. Its axe shaped weapon and crystal handle came down at me. With years of practice, I raised my shield and blocked the lethal blow. The metal grew red hot. With grace I rammed my spear through the Atlans mid stomach and out the other side. Its green blood ran down the shaft and made my grip slippery. I released my spear, letting the demi-god stumble backwards. A high pitched snap sounded and a lightning shot sent one of my fellow battle brothers flying through the air, smoking and in flames. The poor brother took a direct hit from there god like weaponry, he was gone. Angered, I grabbed my sword tucked inside my shield.
“Only Zeus should be able to cast lightning,” I yelled as I ran at the Atlan. It was stunned and turned to face me. With my shield I bashed its weapon out of its hand. Then I ran my sword through its skull cleanly. Its blues eyes dimmed to black and fell to the ground.
“Athena! Duck!” yelled a battle brother. I did so instantly. A static fire ran through my helmets fluff. The incinerated ash flooded my nostrils. Turning around I raised my shield pinning the Atlans arm up, slicing its gut open with my sword. The Atlan fell to the ground crippled. I grinned in its face. The Atlan looked up at me with its blank blue eyes. I raised my sword with the no holding back I brought the sword down into the Atlan’s helmet. Sparks flew out and the blade was blunted, but it had smashed into its head. Snapping the handle clean off the blade, I turned around to examine the field. 19 battle brothers had fallen, but the enemy lost 12. That is a win in our book. The spear head craft still hung in the air. Most of the time when we kill the false gods it takes off. It stayed this time, hovering and pondering.
“Athena” said Lienight
“Yes brother” I said.
“Look this one is different than the rest,” he said. The corpes on the ground was an Atlan, but compared to its comrades though it was lightly armored and had no weapons that the normal warriors carried. A large crystal of some kind was protruded from its hand. I reached for it.
“What do you suppose it is?” asked Lienight. I dropped the handle and grabbed it.
“I’m not sure,” I said. When I touched it, the crystal lit up a grass green. Then it slowly faded to an ice blue and then into a red. The spear head above us dropped to the ground. A cloud of dust rose from the stone street of the crafts wake. The side of the spear head opened up. “Brothers form up,” I said. Leinight took the lead as he slowly stepped in the craft. I followed him standing and walking peacefully, completely entranced on the crystal and the multi glowing colors of the craft. I walked up to an angled panel. A hole was the shape of the crystal. I placed forth the crystal to stick it in.
“Don’t do it Athena!” said leinight.
“What of it brother?” I said confused.
“We do not know what powers are held or consequences are held if you do what you’re about to do.” He said scared.
I merely looked him in the eyes and smirked. Sticking in the crystal, the craft did nothing.
“See….” I said. All the bright lights went out.
“Athena!” yelled Leinight. The crafts colors came back, but red.
“Do you think it is angry?” I said.
“I do not know what blasted curse you bring us Athena,” said Leinight. The craft sat, and my battle brothers stood wary, shields in front and swords drawn.
“Relax brothers,” I said. “Clearly this craft is no more demon then our swords we use just a tool and nothing more”. They took a little less aggression in their stance, but their fear for what the Atlans had done in the past still resided. “Brothers, we must go to council now.” The battle had ended. We all stood up and relaxed a bit more. I stumbled and lost my balance and hit a light on the angled panel by the crystal. The spear head lifted off the ground with tremendous speed.
“Athena!” again yelled Leinight. I looked over the display.
“Maybe we too can fly the god-like craft,” I said intrigued.
“We are no gods, and we are no Atlans, Athena, we cannot fly such a thing,” said a battle brother.
“No we are not gods, nor are we Atlans, but we are Spartans. Having a direct heritage from Zeus himself, we can fly this craft to council.”
I pressed another key and a window appeared in front of me. It was our city, from a bird’s eye view. A far corner was on fire, but controlled. I thought for a moment. Four larger lights sat in front of a chair. I sat down and pressed the top key. The Spear craft started going forwards. “Brothers! I have figured it out.” I yelled in victory. “To council.” with the pressing of the left light and the middle light we made it back to council before any other regiment. With a second press of the middle light, the craft settled down to the ground touching lightly. Lienight jumped from out the craft as fast as possible and kissed the ground.
“Ground, I never thought I be happy to see you” he said. I walked into the council chambers as hundreds of fellow battle brothers came running up the hill to look at the Atlan craft. I walked into the main council chambers where the high guard protected the king.
“Athena reporting” I said. The king turned his head in amusement.
“We have captured an enemy craft”, he looked at me in disbelief.
“Really?” he asked. I nodded and pointed to outside the huge chamber past the pillars holding the marble roof.
“Then we must lead an assault at once, prepare the troops.” He said standing from his thrown unsheathing his sword.
“Father!?” I said
“We have not had a chance like this in ages” he said smiling.
“Are you going to battle?”
“Yes I m”
“Even though you have Neonsis, the crystal development in your body you have already lost one lung and the mobility in your body.”
“Yes it is time to repay the favor, for I m turning into a stone Athena and I need not to die a coward, Bane come here.” Bane a huge white wolf came running out of the hallway. My mind peaked in pain and a white flash come over my vision, some kind of building with the words Monte Del Sol written on it. It was on fire and hundreds of spear crafts where flying over head.
“Father! Let me fight with you!” I said desperately.
“Athena this is not your fight” he scolded
“But-“
“No buts Athena, you’re a fine warrior, but your heart is not the battle field it is in the home of your people. I’m dying Athena…And your anger for death is far too strong, you need to be a softer queen.”
“Father…” unable to say much more a tear ran down my check inside my helmet. I dropped my shield to the ground letting it crash hard. My father merely turned and limped away. It is not right for him to have this fight. He should live not me, mother would probably approve of his choice. So I guess I must as well.
“Father…Good bye…” I said for once sad. He turned to face me and with no words he hugged me, and I buried my face into his chest. He looked down and kissed my forehead good bye. The last time I saw my father so many years ago…
“But brothers, that battle was long ago! And we here have returned in number greater than that of the Atlans. A 100 to 1 is a fair match for a Spartan any day, but 10 to 1 is a slaughter. Brothers hold up your swords in fury as we now approach the city Atlantis. Hold your shields close and tread lightly. The time of victory is upon on us for the free Greeks and people around the world!” A huge chant began of roars filling the sky as we rumbled in the Atlans own crafts…
