I to am making Demon Slayer Costumes but I've got most of mine done. And I'm making both Sango and Kohaku so I have some understanding.

Here are some things that I came to find out /had issues with...

I've learned it won't look exactly the same as the show, Proportions and such are too different. Like the "X" straps on the back won't spread as wide, so don't worry to much.

When making the armor for the shins be very careful to either:
A) make it full length and strap it just like Football (aka Soccer) shin gards - around the top, ankle, then add one down around the foot to hold it in place when you put on the boot.
B) make it with the 'boot' - this is more or less if your making a shoe cover cause you can't find boots in time. This way you just sew the shoe cover to the edge where it meets with the 'armor'

I have learned the the shoulder and knee pads can be made the same size and will work out just fine! The elbow on the other hand is a bit smaller.

Your mid-section 'armor' will be the hardest - it is a difficult shape to produce exactly right and in proportion. Your best bet is to just keep trying. And don't forget about the 'half armor' peice on the back side that covers your bum!! It would be best to just attach that one directly to the pants with either velcro or snaps - depending on your preferance.
