damn i'm stubborn
since I'm lonely bored and up late, I feel like explaining the story i WANT to write. I will, I promise.
I've had this idea for years! But I've finally found something that actually works.
The setting: A totalitarian future, along the lines of 1984. The nations of the world have melded into 2 super-nations that are at war with each other. Each side calls the other "the enemy" and themselves "us." Overpopulation, famine, poverty, crime, and environmental disregard are rampant.
The story: It revolves around a pair of twins, Maren and Marlo. They're girls (i can't help it, i love strong women cos there are so few), about 18. They aren't particularly special, except for their bond with each other. While Marlo is the meeker of the two, she feels closer to Maren than Maren does to her.
As the war accelerates, humanity begins to destroy itself. There are nightwatchers, governmental cops who enforce curfews and kill dissenters. Maren and Marlo do survive, and protect their nephews Porter and Eden. (i like weird names)
Government fails, and anarchy reigns. In the lawlessness, humanity's true darkness takes over, and, to survive "bad things" have to be done.
Marlo steps up as the stronger of the two, despite her more feminine and shy personality. She does ANYTHING to protect herself, her nephews, and most of all, Maren. She will do ANYTHING for her sister.
However, Marlo begins to fall into the violence, and though she never truly emnbraces it, when she begins to forget to feel guilty, Maren begins to feel uncomfortable. Marlo remains ever devoted to Maren, but Maren begins to pull away.
Nonetheless, the sisters raise their nephews. Maren gets married, and leads a fairly civilized, normal life, similar to that before the End. Marlo, so warped by her alienation and violence, only knows love for her sister, and has only lovers, no children.
The end of the story, i know but i don't want to say yet ;)
