Well, I'm older and almost consider myself an adult. Posts here fall into just a few categories:
Political and Environmental stuff very few people reply to.
Posts about bands I like and concerts.
Comic Books and Videogames.
A light touch of how my day went and what I'm thinking about.

Future
As per Comment #5 in the last post, They took out some interactive sex scenes from Indigo Prophecy when they ported it over to PS2 and Xbox. I guess they were pretty similar to the hot coffee crap in GTA. There is still little bits of nudity and of screen sex in the game now. I actually think that having sex implied or off screen is better, seeing videogame characters do it is pretty weird.
Right now the big thought on my brain is graduation, thanks to the pressures of my PhD advisor. He has made it clear (although fairly indirectly) that he wants all of us in our lab to graduate early, maybe within a year. Its an awkward situation since I don't feel terribly ready to graduate, and I don't know if I will in one year when the normal timeline would have had me finish in two more. Its sad that I've been in school for something like 21 years from kindergarten to now basically getting me ready for a career and I don't feel terribly adequate. I think its common in my situation to feel like you are sneaking by, and that most people are better than you. Even realizing that from talking to other people though, I still feel that way; like I'm going to be over qualified for most jobs with my PhD but underqualified for PhD level jobs.
Basically with all that bitching it boils down to living with a lot of uncertainty (which sucks). It always lead me to think that I should have poured more of myself into music or art, something that I enjoy still when I get home after work/school. I don't know what the solution is, maybe I am just wasting too much of my time thinking about it now. Maybe I'll get a good job down the line and feel stupid for having felt so useless.
Well, as long as I don't end up living in Alabama or some shit, I should be ok.

Stuff
I've been pretty much overloading on disc-shaped things lately, be they videogames or music. It had been a while since I picked up any new music, so me and Rachael raided the Cd store this weekend. She picked up the new Fiona Apple and System of a down CD's and I bought the new Bloodhound gang and Queens of the stone age. I had been putting off QOTSA for some reason, but I'm glad I finally bought it. I haven't plowed through the wholething yet, but it sounds good so far. Bloodhound gang actually was a little disappointing. I really really like their last album, but this one seemed a bit uninspired and dull. It wasn't really that funny, or that dirty and the songs were slow. Usually they steal music genres and add funny lyrics, but it was just kinda weak on all counts. Fiona Apple was a little disappointing too, but System of a Down's latest is excellent. I don't know why we waited so long to get it, but I'm glad Rach likes the metal.
I've been splitting my time game-wise with We Love Katamari, God of War and Indigo Prophecy. They are all very good and very very different games. Its fun since I can just play what suits my mood at the time. I think God of War is possibly even better than Devil May Cry 3, though DMC3 had a cooler story/characters. God of War is just perfectly done though, and is well balanced with brutal button mashing and strategy.
We love Katamari I warmed up to after a little bit, and is even more fun than the original. Some of my favorite parts are being able to roll around a Sumo and picking up food that makes him get bigger; getting the moustache on the Cowbear level (spits out of the car wash as a present) and rolling up stuff to get big enough to almost roll up the King of Cosmos. It might be possible, I'm not sure.
Indigo propecy is a very cool story, and I like the interface of the game a lot. I very much recommend renting it (PS2, or Xbox). I haven't finished it yet, but its very cool. I have a post on it in Play It that is fairly informative.

Too much to do?
Ok, I starting cruising Pollstar for concerts and found way too many interesting ones, way too close together.
Henry Rollins (11/21/05)
Deceberists (11/01/05)
Bright Eyes (11/02/05)
in Portland 2hrs away:
Say Anything (11/19/05)
Fiona Apple (11/22/05)
Children of Bodom (11/23/05)
Our Lady Peace (10/29/05)
The shows in town are less interesting, but cheaper and easier to go to. I'm pretty sure I'll go see Bodom in Portland as I have plans for it with a pal, but that pretty much rules out Fiona who would be cool to see. Rollins I will 99% likely go to see since the last two times were really funny/good and Rachael is a big fan too. I don't know if I would go to both the Decemberists and Bright eyes...? That ones a tough call.
Oh, I finished the last mission on We Love Katamari, but failed to get the cousin with the super sweet moustache. Maybe the stache was a present I missed? Anyway, I won't stop playing until I find him!

Holy Fucking Shit
I think I may have just witnessed my new favorite movie of all time (replacing Transformers: The Movie) but I'm not exactly sure since I didn't see it in English.
What I'm talking about is Final Fantasy: Advent Children. I got my copy in the mail today, and unfortunately it didn't have english subtitles. I really want to see it in English, but damn if it really didn't matter at all that I could only understand the names and a few words here and there.
The movie is by far the single greatest peice of animation done to this point, and makes something from the Incredibles (or any Pixar) look like a turd. It completely blew me away how amazing it looked, in a way that the internet trailers only hinted at. The movie is just plain gorgeous, and even if you think FF is super lame you should still enjoy it as eye candy. The action scenes were really really cool. Reminiscent of the Matrix, but if you throw in a shit ton of swords it makes it even cooler. The big suprises in the story are very cool for FF7 fans too (I won't ruin anything). I wish they would just stop dicking around and make a videogame remake of FF7.
Yeah, the best movie ever.
