So don't be vain and don't be whiny, or else my brother I might have to get medieval on your heiny
One of the funniest songs I've ever heard.
OK, well, get this.
In case you didn't know, I went with my quizbowl team to a competition on Saturday. We only had four people to begin with, and we won the first round, but then we had to play the second round with three people, because our fourth person had to go to Milwaukee. So it was Marc, Trinity, and myself against this team with frickin' EIGHT people, so they kept switchin' people around, and here we are, this poor little Wisconsin team with only three people, doing our best to be faster then them on the buzzer. We were behind after the toss-up round (the round where anyone can answer the questions) so we got to choose our subject for the lightening round first (the lightening round is where your team has one minute to work together to answer ten question about a specific topic) We had three choices, Economics, Earth Science, and Humanities. Since Marc & Trin didn't understand Economics (I haven't taken the class) and we all detest Earth Science, we chose Humanities.
*gasps for breath*
So we start off and we keep having to pass the questions because we didn't know them (Trin blamed herself for not remembering where Woodstock was held), then we get a question that Marc knows the answer to and we get the rest of them right. We got stuck on a poorly worded question when the timer went off. Then the other team went (they chose Earth Science) and they went through the questions on passes really fast then started answering them on the second time through. At this point, we're holding hands because we're so scared that they're going to get more of theirs right.
Their timer rings, and the scorekeeper stands up and announces the scores.
We won by 15 points. (110 to 95)
I swear there was this collective sigh and we stood up to gloat in their faces (oh, I mean shake their hands)
So, in short, we're going on to the championship round in February.
And that's how I spent my Saturday.
