hey guys, whats happening? since there is nothing really new going on, ill regail you of a tail from my days as a youth ^_^.

We were in 8th grade, my brother and myself, and were about to embark on our bi-annual houseboat vacation. With our dads van packed, Dads friend Rick, his son Ryan, and the 3 of us piled in and went on down the road.

About 1 and 1/2 hours down the road, we were on the South Side of Chicago. It was about 11:30 pm, because we wanted to get to Kentucky at around 5:30 AM to load our houseboat and get the fishing started.

Well on the highway right next to Comiskey Park, (Home of the White Sox),We hear a loud crack and then the sound of steel scraping pavement at 60 MPH.

We thought that it was the muffler, but turns out that it was the drive shaft. Ill explain to those who dont know about vehicles, on a rear wheel drive car/van/truck, a drive shaft is the component that allows the rear tires to push the car and make it go down the road. Now keep in mind that it is 11:30 at night and we now cannot move, we coast up the exit ramp, stop right next to the ball park and call a tow truck. We wait until 4:30 AM before the truck shows up.

When the garage opens in the morning, they tell us "first in line when your part shows up"

Well its not until 11:30 in the morning before the new driveshaft shows up, we then wait until 1 in the afternoon.

The van back in working order, we get back on the road and proceed to make the rest of the 9 hour drive. We made it in a grand total of 18 hours or something like that.

If you have read this entire story, good for you, if not, I wasnt expecting you to anyway.

take it easy
John
