Well, nobody answered my Eva questions, either here or on Otakuboards. Some person on OB tried, but failed miserably. Oh well, I think I have figured out the answers.

I'm considering running an Eva RPG on Otakuboards, but it would be really hard because I'd need players who are
1. committed to finishing it
2. OB "regulars" so the RPG flows well and we can have unscripted character dialogue via chat
3. ok with going through MY version of Eva rather than their own

So yeah, it probably won't happen, mostly because of #3.

   Evangelion Questions

Ok folks, this is for experts only. No n00bs allowed. I am thinking about several issues in Neon Genesis Evangelion and, although I admit that these are largely speculation, they are leaving me stumped.

Tasukete kudasai!

1) I posted this one on Otakuboards. I am wondering what soul is in Unit-00. I am leaning toward Akagi Naoko. What are your thoughts?

2) Are the alternate endings reconcilable? This hinges on whether Shinji accepts or rejects Complementation at the end of episode 26 (not the EoE 26). The choice he makes appears to be the same, but in making it, does he accept the "bliss" of Complementation or does he really thrust himself back into the real world as we know it? I'm leaning toward the latter myself.

3)Where exactly can I find background information on the angels (i.e. their religious origins) and the sephiroth? I know enough off-hand, but I want something concrete to fall back on in correlating the angels and a certain number of "trials" that mankind has to pass before ascension. There used to be a great NGE FAQ up by "Gendo Ikari," but it is no longer around it appears.

   Free time?

Well, it's Thanksgiving break, which means I get to do the following:

Work on Ray Tracing assignment due next Friday. This thing is a nightmare. I am not kidding, it is conceptually the hardest assignment I've ever had to complete.

Work on Networking assignment. Is it fun and easy to implement TCP-IP using UDP? If you believe so, can you also send me $1,000,000? It's for a good cause, I promise.

Work on Algorithm Analysis assignment. Compared to what I mention above, it is a joke.

Look at grad school applications to York, Warwick, Edinburgh, Carnegie Mellon, Stanford, etc. Well, hopefully actually start on some rather than just look at them.

Start on layout and visual design for Nintendo Insider relaunch. Well, I've already started. Now I'm just winging the design and seeing what turns out. Looking good so far...

Play Halo 2, DOAU, KOTOR, Smash.

   New Stuff for MyOtaku

I added a new image to my MyOtaku site and I finally changed my avatar! It's good stuff. The background for the image above was done using a Photoshop plugin, if you're wondering. Ahhh, I love it when I can be lazy about art...

So I didn't get wasted yesterday... Instead I went to see National Treasure with my girlfriend. But she decided to get drunk before we left for the theater, so she was acting all weird for a while. Laughing at everything Joker-venom style, trying to bite my hand, just being *all over* me. Like one of those overly playful dogs, haha. But the movie's crappiness eventually sobered her up I think. Well, it wasn't a *bad* movie, but it was definitely mediocre. The most primitive plot progressions ever... well, it's a Disney film and unlike Pirates it really did feel like one from time to time. It's PG which didn't help.

As usual Sean Bean was awesome. Sean Bean rules and everyone knows it. And he [HUGE spoiler considering it's Sean Bean]didn't die![/ummm end of spoiler]

I know my MyO looks a bit bland right now. I will put up a nice logo eventually. Don't you worry. It'll be ultra sweet and Sciros-ish.

A beautiful f-ing start to a beautiful f-ing day

I made the huge mistake of signing up for two Japanese sessions on campus today. Today is the OSU vs. Michigan game at the Horseshoe. I tried to get within 243 miles of campus, but magic ninjas somehow turned my car around and 1 minute before my sessions were to start I was farther away from my destination than when I was 10 minutes before. I f-ing hate football. You would not believe how many retarded football fans I had the opportunity to run over today. It is only because I am disciplined enough to exercise unbelievable restraint that I didn't kill every single one of them.
So now I get an email saying
"Sharkov-san, you missed a 10:30 session you scheduled. This is a NO SHOW. Failure to attend a session is disrespectful to your instructors and takes away valuable session time from other students." Kiss my ass. I'd like to see those other students use that valuable session time. Nobody else scheduled jack today and I know it.

Now I have to finish a ray tracing lab that is a week late. I'm not sure I'll even receive credit at all for it. And that's assuming I get anywhere on it at all. It's too damn hard and I'm too damn tired. I stayed up until almost dawn studying Japanese because I had spent all day/evening/early night on other not-fun obligations and all I get for it is an hour of driving in circles as directed by dumbass incompetent Columbus police within the 3-mile-wide area that is between work (where I planned to park my car had it been possible to reach it, and it would have been if not for some mofo planting cones in 90% of all intersections) and my house.

Meanwhile Anuj is in Detroit playing at a Smash tournament. I am gonna get so f-ing wasted today it's not even funny.

   Plans for 2005

My friend and I have decided that once we complete the Insider website we will create an all-encompassing website for Super Smash Bros. Melee. Located at www.supersmashers.com (which is an awesome domain, don't you think?), the site will feature everything from the current tiers to profiles of important players to upcoming tournaments and the latest tournament results. We'll have character guides, cool screenshots, videos of the world's finest players, etc. It's gonna be huge. Basically we plan on assimilating Smashboards. It's very ambitious, but it'll be worth it if we can pull it off.

   Sciros is IN

Well, my friend and I have both been charged with having the Nintendo Insider website overhauled by January. They want it as slick as possible, and that means work. Lots of work. It also means I'm gonna have to put in about a week or so just coming up with a good enough site design to make it easy to build and maintain, since it will be updated almost daily. That means making CSS and PHP my bitches.

Well I'm pretty excited about this. I mean, I have a job that's a bit more meaningful than this already (and it pays, heh), but this is more good programming experience, plus I get to make more of a name for myself as an artist and designer. And I get to go to E3!

   Game Reviewing

Sciros is in the business (and by business, I mean that I do it for free) of video game reviewing! A friend of mine and myself were asked by our college newspaper (OSU's The Lantern) to write a weekly column reviewing recently released video games. What does that mean? It means playing new random games for free and telling something like 15,000 people what we think of them. Which is sweet. Not only does it make me extremely famous!!! but it also lets us advertise our Competitive Gaming Association club for free just by signing as "____ and ____ are co-founders and co-presidents of the OSU Competitve Gaming Association."

Heh, also that same friend of mine just got a job reviewing for Nintendo's N-Sider, so I'm gonna try to get in on that because that is awesome. He will be helping with web work for them, and I'd be really happy to end up doing that as well since I have a good amount of experience in it. Also,... umm... free E3? Who would refuse that opportunity?! Well, I hate mooching off my friends like that, but hey, some of them got connections that I don't, heh.

   New MyO milestone

I have broken the 1000 visits mark! Yay! It took long enough...

Well, then again I never post, and when I do it's nothing worth talking about or commenting on. Plus I put up no fanart. It's surprising I get as many visits as I do, now that I think about it. Thanks, guys!!
