A friendly reply
Mamma Vash, my most frequent and very welcome visitor, asked how to catch carp, and so I will explain how we managed to do it:
Take a rod with a spinner and remove the sinker and flotation thingy (my fisherman-speak is not very developed), so all you have is the bare line and a hook. On the hook put... white bread crust. Yep. First lure in little stupid fish with popcorn and white bread (they love that stuff), and the carp will be all like "hey what are those little stupid fish doing over there?" and check it out.
So you take the bread crust, mush it onto the hook as hard as you can so it's on there real good (and won't just fall off in the water), and drop it to the bottom of the lake. Don't leave it on the bottom for too long; if nothing bit in the first minute nothing will. Just drop it again. Carp see it dropping to the bottom; that's when it gets their attention.
Once you catch one, tell your fellow ninja to be ready with the net while you fight that fish like a crazy person for a while.
Mamma Vash also inquired: What year of your degree is this for you? I just finished my 3rd year, so I will be a senior next year. Hopefully it will be my last year; OSU is really evil about finding ways to keep its engineers for a fifth year; most have to stay for that long.
One last question: Just curious, do you play an instrument or sing? I sing in my car to random songs, even if they never had any vocals to begin with. I don't do it when people are in the car because it annoys them. Except my buddy Fade. He and I are never too shy to karaoke like total fools. Heck yeah!
Also, I played clarinet all though school, and was pretty good at it. I played in various contests and always got 1's (highest score), as did our high school symphony orchestra (which was perhaps the best in the state). I woudl've continued playing in college, but I never had the time. In an university as large as OSU, there's some serious competition for any good spot in an orchestra, and I'd actually have to put some work into my clarinet playing.
I also pretend to play the guitar and keyboard, since I've never taken any lessos. I can play Chrono Cross's "Radical Dreamers" on my guitar pretty well, which tricks people into thinking I can actually play lots of stuff. But no, I can't. I pick it up and improvise to a random song occasionally. The only reason I can even play guitar/keyboard at all is because I have a very good ear and can pick up a melody on, usually, my first attempt. I have a very good sense for intervals. |
