Approxamitley two hours later, there was Seymour riding on the back of Sin, with an army of Sinscales behind standing behind him.
The Sinscales immeadietly rained down on Bevelle, and Sin himself, was even using his gravity beam to cause destruction.
“Okay, Wakka and Kimarhi, you’re on crowd control. Gippal and Lulu, we’re supporting the Yevon soldiers. Does anyone have any last minute questions before we begin?” Yuna asked, leading a group of people to safety.
Gippal, was blasting away pieces of debris about to land on another group of people.
“Can I go to the bathroom, please, Yuna?” Lulu asked through the radio, jokingly.
“No, but you can stop the stupid jokes, Lulu. There’s a time and a place for being flippant, and this most definitely isn’t it. I’m counting three to four hundred Sinscales down here, and plus there’s Sin up there who’s packing enough heat to level Bevelle ten times over, boys and girls,” Yuna explained. “Screw this up and people die.”
“Okay, okay. We get the picture, Yuna. Shut up,” Kimarhi said, as a Sinscale jumped on his back. “I’m freaking out here as it is.”
“No you’re not, Kimarhi. You’re five hundred pounds of organic steel and one of Spira’s most powerful Ronso. You can flatten diamonds between your fingertips,” Yuna said through the comm.-link. “How could a Sinscale give you grief, blue-boy? These things were ancient history the second you got out of bed this morning.”
Kimarhi found renewed vigor within himself, and flung the Sinscale off his back. It landed upside down behind him, and was shot to pieces by Yevon soldiers.
“Hey! Wanna tell me how cool I am too, Yuna?” Gippal asked through the comm.-link.
“Maybe later, Gippal,” Yuna answered. “Lulu: Where are you, girl? On a coffee break? Those Yevon soldiers are getting massacred over here.”
“Oh, like I didn’t notice?” Lulu asked through the comm.-link as a small thunderbolt struck a Sinscale down.
Soon, it escalated into a regular sized thunderbolt, then a large one, and finally, a giant thunderbolt. It glided along the ground, killing at least a hundred Sinscales, and then it flew upwards, in Sin’s direction. It zoomed through Sin’s belly, and came out of it’s back. Sin let out a mighty howl then toppled to the ground, just outside of Bevelle, in Macalania forest.
“Lulu, it’s Wakka, I’m not sure what you just did to Sin, but I’m officially impressed. Is that ball-lightning you just conjured up?” Wakka asked through the comm.-link.
“Yeah, I found the recipe on that atmospheric anomalies web site you linked me too after our last danger room session, Wakka,” Lulu answered through the comm.-link. “Facing off against the Sinscales isn’t nearly as terrifying when you’re hiding in a corner and taking them out long distance.”
The giant ball of lighting landed on a group on Sinscales wiping them out and disappeared.
“You know, I’m actually getting pretty good at this stuff,” Lulu said, while standing in a tower, watching the chaos below.
Yuna saw Auron fly past her on a hover.
“Auron, this is Yuna. What do you think you’re doing? I told you to stay out of this!” Yuna exclaimed through the comm.-link.
A Sinscale shot it’s spines at Auron narrowly missing him, and landing next to Wakka.
“Sorry, babe, but Cid doesn’t have a chance against Seymour on his own, and I can’t stand around and watch him make Cid eat his leather outfit,” Auron said.
“I swear, Auron, if you even think about hurting Cid…”
“Trust me, kid, Cid ain’t the one who’s gonna be feedin’ any worms tonight,” Auron said cutting Yuna off.
“Listen carefully, Spira, because I will say this only once, your reign as Spira’s dominant species is formally at an end,” Seymour said over the sphere screen. Flames reflected on his face, and he was back in his normal Guado form. “The creature you regarded as the most powerful man alive has just licked my boots clean.”
Grand Maester Mika lay on the ground naked, crying, muttering little prayers.
“His execution now will serve as a warning to any other world leaders who refuse to recognize their new position in the coming global order,” Seymour continued. “Obey us and you may live as our slaves and playthings. Disobey and you will be categorized as Guado food-stuffs.”
Seymour snapped his fingers and a Sinscale sprinted towards Grand Maester Mika.
“Spira dies tonight at the age of 1000. Your intolerance and all-consuming greed will not be missed,” Seymour finished.
The Sinscale was so close. Merely five feet away, when BLAM! His head exploded. The Sinscaled tripped, and slid past Maester Mika.
“Who the devil…?”
“You and I need to have a serious talk, Seymour,” Cid said twirling his gun in his hand.
With a flik of his hand, Seymour turned around and sent Cid flying into a wall.
“No, we don’t, Cid. We need to finish a fight we started in the desert almost two years ago, you simpering, little spastic,” Seymour said walking towards Cid. “And this time I’m going to do a lot worse than send a metal pole through your stomach.
“Will somebody help me out here? I’m operating at fifty percent agility,” Wakka said as three spines punctured a wall, where he was a second ago. “But I seem to be attracting three times as many Sinscales as everybody else.”
Gippal launched 4 rounds of napalm out of his Machina weapon. Sinscales dropped to the ground everywhere, and Gippal stood proudly, in the center of the bloody mess.
“Don’t mess with Gippal, boys and girls,” Gippal said.
“Gippal, would you stop gloating and get out of the way?” Yuna said as Valefor charged up his Energy Beam.
“You know, in some ways, your death means more to me than the murder of that shifty little daddy’s boy anyway, Cid. Spira watching me kill you proves how abhorrent I find your intergrationist agenda, and the lengths to which I’ll go to keep humans in their pens,” Seymour explained. “I can’t imagine how frustrating this must be for you, old friend. Spira’s most skilled pilot only moments from extinction…”
“Oh, how you must rue the day I banished you from your own home, eh? Any final pearls of wisdom before I spray that bald head across Spira’s television screens?” Seymour asked.
“Nothing springs to mind immediately, Seymour, but I have my suspicions that you’ve just uttered yours,” Cid answered, across Spira’s television screens.
“What?” Seymour asked.
“You heard the man, bub,” Auron said slashing at Seymour’s back with his Masamune.
“Auron! What are you doing?” Seymour asked.
Auron ran around in front of Seymour and slashed at his chest three times, revealing the muscles on his skin. He was bleeding badly.
“Do I really need to spell it out?” Auron asked, uppercutting Seymour with his fist. “I’m playing for the other team now, freak. You told us life was just a choice between humans wiping us out and the homo sapien holocaust you always wanted, but Cid offered me a third option.”
“And what’s that? Embracing a species which killed you?” Seymour asked.
“No, teaching ‘em we’re all human!” Auron said, sending his sword through Seymour’s knee-cap.
“You know, I think I liked you a lot better when you were cynical and heartless, Auron,” Seymour said as he grabbed Cid’s gun, lying on the ground.
BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! Four bullet’s landed smack dab in the middle of Auron’s forehead.
“And don’t think those unsent ability is going to help you either, you treacherous little runt. As soon as I’m finished with Cid here, I’ll send you myself,” Seymour explained, getting to his feet. “Tearing open my vitals might have stopped the Guado from inheriting Spira today, but I’d rather burn in a thousand hells tonight than just hand it over to homo sapiens!”
The Celsius touched down next to Yuna, and Barthello teleported out of the airship.
“Yuna! What’s going on here?” Barthello asked.
“Cid and Auron are having a showdown with your dad, Barthello. And right now, Seymour’s winning,” Yuna answered.
“Yuna, this is Wakka, if Seymour wins then Spira is going to be destroyed. You’re the closest and the most formidable, you’ve got to take Seymour out,” Wakka said.
“But nobody can get anywhere near him, Wakka,” Yuna protested. “He’s just too fast.”
“Relatively speaking, of course,” Barthello said. “Lucky for you, fast just happens to be my specialty.”
Barthello took off in Seymour’s direction. He sprinted, past buildings, houses, crying citizens, burning carcasses. He didn’t care if Seymour raised him like his own son anymore. He was tired of being treated like dirt. He was going to finish this once and for all.
“…nothing can stop me- - URRK!” Seymour was cut off by Barthello’s hands wringed around his neck.
“This is what happens when you treat someone like dirt beneath your fingernails for their entire life, father,” Barthello said.
“Jean! What’s he doing?!” Lulu asked.
“Choking Seymour by the looks of it!” Yuna answered.
“Barthello’s really going to do it, isn’t he? Look at his face, it’s beat red,” Kimarhi said.
“Barthello, don’t. He’s had enough. If you kill him, you’ll be the same as him. Do you really want to be like Seymour?” Cid asked.
At first, Barthello tightened his grip, but after considering Cid’s words, he let go of Seymour who had passed out, and dropped down to his knees.
“That’s it, Barthello. Take the higher path, and be peaceful. Also be sure to say goodbye to your father, as you and I both know, that Yevon will be sure to executed him,” Cid said.
