Meep!
I'm sorry agaaaaiiiin!
Itachi: Dun worry, they're getting used to it...
I start school in two days. TT I couldn't update yesterday coz either my mom or my dad was on the computer the whole time. You don't think someone can play Spider Solitaire for four hours straight? My dad can. O.o Right, then, here's the long scene of the ficcie and I gots a bit of news afterwards.
***
Rowan growled again as Sato tackled him from behind. She hung off his neck in the same piggyback position as before. Rowan audibly gulped as he caught a glare from Sasuke, soon reaching up and unhooking Sato’s arms from his neck, for both of the reasons: for breathing and for Sasuke not to have a reason to kill him. Sato laughed, walking next to Rowan. “So a new girl really laid it on Jasmine? Wish I was there…”
Rowan nodded, shoving his hands in his pockets as they walked out of the school. Sasuke rolled his eyes, glancing at Sato and snapping rather quickly, “Sato, I can’t give you a ride home today, unless you want to be dragged around for errands…”
Sato sighed, replying, “Yeah, yeah, Sasuke, I’ll just walk home.”
Rowan gasped, remembering his dream. “Walk home…?”
Rowan cut in, saying nervously, “U-uhh, Sato, erm, let me walk you home, okay?”
Sato tilted her head, puzzled, the asked, “What’re you so upset about?”
“N-nothing! Ha, ha!” Rowan scratched the back of his head nervously, turning to Sasuke and asking, “Is, um… it okay if I walk her home?”
Sasuke rolled his eyes. “I don’t care… Just get her home, alright?”
Rowan nodded, soon whipping around and walking, grabbing Sato’s arm and dragging her with him. “H-hey! Rowan, knock it off!”
Rowan let go of her arm, and she just huffed, rubbing her arm and snapping, “You’re acting really weird, you know that?”
Rowan laughed a bit nervously, replying, “Y-yes, I do know that…”
Sato rolled her eyes, shifting her backpack to her other shoulder as they walked. She suddenly stopped, looking to one of the shops on the street. She grabbed Rowan’s arm, this time dragging him into one of the town stores. “We haven’t been here in awhile…”
Rowan let out an “ACK!”, soon shaking his head. It was already getting dark, and if he didn’t get Sato home soon…
“Sato, we have to go, NOW!”
Sato, who was already in the middle of looking at shopping items, just sighed, “Aww…”
Rowan tugged her out of the store, half-dragging her down the street towards her house.
Sato abruptly stopped, stomping her foot. “What’s wrong with you, Rowan?! Dragging me like some kidnapper or something!”
Rowan sighed, starting, “Sato, you gotta go home-“
Sato turned, cutting in as she looked into an alleyway, “Hey, Rowan… Was that guy there before?”
Rowan turned his head, following Sato’s gaze. He saw a homeless figure sitting in the alleyway, covered with an old cloak. From what they could tell, the figure had light brown hair, and although he was sitting, they could tell he was fairly tall. Sato, after a few moments, took a step towards the figure. “Umm… Excuse me?”
Rowan growled, suddenly remembering his dream. “Sato, c’mon, he’s probably fine…”
Sato sighed exasperatedly, looking over her shoulder. “But Rowan… He’s just by himself…”
Sato slowly edged her way over to the hunched figure. She kneeled down within good distance, and asked, “Erm… Hi, um, are you okay?”
Rowan knew what was coming. He growled, darting forward. He froze in one place as Sato’s scream echoed through the alleyway.
The figure had grabbed Sato’s wrist, and had pulled her down near him. The figure stood up, the old tattered cloak around his shoulders drifting around him as he held both of Sato’s arms behind her back with one hand, and held a knife to her throat with the other. Sato froze, not even bothering to breathe. She stared helplessly at Rowan, who took an uneasy step forward. The man behind Sato growled, the knife drawing closer to Sato’s neck. Sato whimpered, and Rowan stopped in his tracks. Rowan sighed, snapping at the man, “What do you want now?”
The man replied simply in a familiar gravelly voice, “First, I want you to remember the warning I gave you earlier… Second, I want you to die, nice and slow, cut into a thousand pieces.”
Rowan smirked. “Hardly complimentary, you lousy bandit… Why do you hold a grudge against me?”
The bandit’s knife prodded Sato’s throat threateningly as the bandit answered, his dark eyes suddenly glowing a bright burning color equal to fiery embers, “Because you are the only one who can stop us…”
Rowan took another step forward, and the bandit took a step back, the knife blade now steadily pressed against Sato’s skin. Sato stared at Rowan helplessly, and Rowan just gulped and froze in one place. The demon continued almost joyously, “Oracle boy. I know you can see what’s coming. You knew I was going to attack this girl, and even now, you know what Earth’s future is. That’s why I cannot allow you to tell anyone… This is the easiest way. I kill this innocent girl, you get blamed for it. You go to jail, where nobody will listen to even a syllable of what you say.”
Sato finally spoke, although her voice was weak and rather faultered. “C… Can I have his deal instead?”
The bandit growled, gripping her wrists and yelling harshly into her ear, “Shut UP!!!”
In an instant, an ebony-black-scaled tail whipped forward from behind the bandit, and snapped Sato’s head back, leaving her neck twice as vulnerable. The tail settled over her mouth, gripping her head back far enough for it to rest on the bandit’s shoulder behind her. Sato whimpered, shaking fearfully. Rowan gasped, snapping angrily, “Stop it, demon…”
The bandit smiled, tapping the knife on Sato’s throat. “Four clicks till the end…”
The tail pressed harder against Sato’s mouth, sure to leave scaly marks. “One…”
The knife pressed harder against her neck, now starting a small cut on her throat. “Two…”
Rowan stood, frozen, as he knew that the demon would slash Sato’s throat if he so much as moved. He glared at the ground, knowing he had lost. “Three…”
The bandit’s eyes glittered their fiery color again, and his grip tightened on the knife. “Four.”
Before the bandit could move, a spell of some sort flew through the air and hit the demon in the face, just barely missing Sato. The bandit instantly screamed on impact, releasing Sato and stumbling back. Sato fell forward, and Rowan dove forward and caught her. She straightened up, instinctively looking back down the alley. The demon, whoever he was, had disappeared.
Rowan quickly glanced around, looking for where the spell had come from. He spotted someone across the street, a person in long gray robes. The person was holding a staff, and on the end of the staff glittered a bright lantern, that still sparkled from releasing the spell. Rowan gasped, turning to Sato and quickly snapping, “Hey! You see him? That guy across the street?”
Sato looked across the street, too. She blinked a few times, tilting her head to one side and replying, “…Who? Rowan, there’s nobody there.”
Rowan peered down at her, then realized it would probably be useless to argue with her. He still gazed across the street, looking to the person he knew was there. {{…Who are you?}}
The person swirled the staff through the air, the lantern soon glowing as they disappeared into the night air. {{“I am just a figment of your imagination.”}}
Rowan blinked a few times, then looked to Sato. “L… Let’s get you home. I’ll explain tomorrow.”
***END TRANSMISSION***
Itachi: Oooh. Noice.
*thwaps Itachi* Shaddup. Anyways, I gots some bad news. I am... pausing the fic for awhile. I'm not stopping it completely, but just pausing it. For three reasons:
1. School is starting in two days, I have to get used to school updating times
2. I don't have a specific ending thought out for Oracle. So, um, it'll just... Keep going. O.o
3. There are some times that people fall behind on the fic, and reading everyone's updates takes awhile, yano? So I'm pausing it at the moment and in the meantime, people can catch up on it if they've fallen behind.
I'll continue it once I get used to the school year, I'm too accustomed to summer. TT_TT Oh well, don't worry eet shall RETUURRRRRN!
And expect more pictures and junk eventually. ^^
PEAS!
