A poem...
This was a school project. Tell me what you think.
If you tell me what I am,
I will tell you the meaning of a life.
I do sometimes wish I knew what happened
What I first said, what I first did,
But no one knows,
Or no one will tell me.
Either way, I know not
Of the way I was
When I was the youngest of my life.
At a later era, my memory is a blur
But more memorable than before.
I began to take my feelings for granted,
And was confused over my own life style.
As my teenage years begin,
Of course this is known,
But I don’t like it.
Making bad decisions,
Thinking it will all be okay
Even after the fact.
Seeing how life of others has changed so much
Seeing how some have turned into friends,
But more into enemies.
Later on, I want my deepest dreams to sprout and come true,
But will it really?
As I enter my years of adulthood,
Things will not go as I had hoped.
I will work my worst work,
Struggling to succeed, never to succeed,
Later, work will not get much better.
It may become worse.
But no need to assume.
My deepest dreams just might come true.
And in my senior years, my final years,
I think back and wonder where it all went,
Where it all came from,
And which direction did it go?
Then my final bow will be given
T my longest friend,
Or enemy, called life.
If you can tell me what I am,
There’s no need to tell you the meaning of a life.
