Daigo Umehara is my hero
You may have not heard of "The Beast", but to legions of Street Fighter fans like me, he is simply godlike in SF. I saw a video of Evo 2k4 that my friend sent me of Daigo single parrying every strike of Chun Li's super art in Street Fighter 3rd strike and killing him with a cool combo after almost losing the fight. That was just plain cool. As I was cruising XBox Live the other day, I happened upon a very strange challenge for SF:Anniversary Collection for SF3:3rd strike....and who is the sender? Daigo Umehara himself. I know he doesn't play often online but to be treated by the beast with an online match? Very cool. I had my doubts, so I ran a check on his IP and found that it was based in Tokyo, Japan. So I went ahead and accepted the challenge. We played like 8 rounds and I had so much fun. I lost every round and every match, but I learned a lot of things from playing with Daigo that I want to incorporate into my Street Fighter game.

Ok, no more SF geekery.

I haven't updated in a while, sorry about that. I've been couped up at work for the past several days and running the new RP on Otakuboards (Virtual Realities, The Matrix Revisited) is taking up a lot of time. Sincere apologies. I did get out tonight though. I went to the movies and played massive amounts of DDR. I got 5 double A's in a row and almost got 6. I missed it by like one or two greats.

Ick, being a geek again.

I spoke with an old friend the other day. We hadn't seen each other in ages and we spent almost 6 hours on IM just chatting away about stuff. It's crazy how much we've missed each other. I'm just glad we're able to speak again.

It's been raining here a lot right now because monsoon season just kicked in here. We get a lot of rain during this time of year, which is weird because you wouldn't think late summer/early fall as a "rainy season" but that's when we get our rainfall for the year.
