“Loves Requiem, the funeral of hearts.”

“Confusion writhes around our hearts impatiently
I Love's the funeral of hearts
And an ode for cruelty
When angels cry blood
On flowers of evil in bloom

The funeral of hearts
And a plea for mercy
When love is a gun
Separating me from you
It drains the faith that lights the dark and sets us free
From the chains of our war and the pain we once called love
The poison of doubt enslaves our minds and we bleed”

She sat lonely in the dark of her room, the silence embracing her with anguish. Her dark hair of satin flowed freely about her shoulders. Like a deep, dark waterfall. The words flowed from her pen, like blood from an open wound. Her hands moved quick and silent, as her mind wandered into the abyss of freedom. Her world was that of purple skies, and paper flowers. A world with peace and happiness. No sadness could tarnish her heart when she was in her safe place of refuge.

“We abandon the trust that kept us blind and disappear
Under the crimson wings of hate where the lost are safe
Until they love again”

Her eyes that shone with mischief and guilt, glazed in her distant state. The words came straight from her soul, straight from her heart. They came to her like air, a thing of nature. Something that did not require practice or training. But a deep sense of concentration, and sorrow. Her words could mean only what one believed they did.

“The heart of darkness is hope of finding you there
And that hope will be our love's requiem
We pray to the serpent of delight desperately”

He skin turned pale in the moonlit realm of her room. Frail and sickly though she was, she lacked nothing in the physical quality of the vanqure. Her back slightly hunched as she stared blankly into the night. An aura of crystal blue surrounded her in an instant. Forming flowing tendrils of power that shielded her from the disruptions of humans.

“The questions are answered and we try not to weep
Until we are sure we're suffering for love
In the dungeon of our dreams we're so weak
The promise made to be broken still haunts our sleep
We won't open our eyes afraid we would die for love again”

Her thoughts shifted for unknown reasons, to a dark corner of her peaceful world. One that she had taught herself to forget, and dared not sleek within it. Though different today, her feelings led her to this place of pain. The memories of him flowed through her dreams. Her world disrupted by the presence of his voice that rang so fluidly in the night.

“The heart of darkness is hope of finding you there
And that hope will be our love's requiem
The salvation we seek will be waiting us there
In the heart of darkness lonely and scared
With a promise of death for our love”

His eyes, such a bright blue, they rivaled even the blue of the sky. His hair that fell around his face, as fine as the most expensive silks in the world. His voice that would ring upon her ears with such angelic peaceful beauty. He was her fallen angel, and in many ways he made her life have meaning.

“And now that we're free from the chains of our dark love
I'm lost
And now that we're free from the chains of our dark love
I'm lost”

Through all the times he had with her, and all the tears she had shed. Her heart turned always to black without him by her side. She longed for his touch and for his love. Lost to infinity, and entrapped in the shadow of words. She waited in hours of despair, for him to return to her side. She told herself she would wait, but the more she waited, the more insanity invaded her.

“The heart of darkness is hope of finding you there
And that hope will be our love's requiem
Take me into your arms and sing me your beautiful song
Hold me until we're one and sing me you're beautiful song”

Suddenly through the darkness, her sweet voice pierced the air. His song of redemption, flowed from her like water. Echoing through the night, and cascading down to the streets below.
‘Tsumetai toki ga yume o furaseru kono te no naka o suri nukete
Negai kazo e mezame ta toki ni yureru maboroshi ni kimi ga utsuru
Boku o michibiku kasu kana shiruetto’
As she sang, she remembered his voice. On so many nights, it had calmed and pleased her. She heard it in her head, and all her sorrows froze in time. For a single moment in time, she was able to forget everything that had happened to her. She was able to find peace in the sound of her angel. She laid down in the moonlight, with a peaceful smile on her pale face. She dreamed of all the times they had shared. So many good feelings came with the thoughts of him, and she welcomed the warmth it brought. Her eyes glazed, and hazy, as she dwindled on the edge of sanity. As she slowly closed her eyes, the aura faded away. And her heart beat its final time, and in the darkness she found her love.
“The heart of darkness is hope of finding you there
And that hope will be our love's requiem
Take me into your arms and sing me your beautiful song
Hold me until we're one and sing me you're beautiful song...”

Walking into the dim lit room, a tall man in black glanced around at the small cluttered area. He walked to the desk, finding it covered with paper and ink. Sorting through al the mess of paper, he found many stories, poems, songs and what appeared to be letters.

“Detective, we have reviewed the body many times. But we cannot seem to determine the cause of death.” A young man in a blue suit stated quickly.

The man in black nodded, and picking up the papers, he headed down to the streets below. He got into his sleek car and began driving to no where in particular. While at a blinding red light, he glanced down at the papers. Seeing one that caught his attention, he picked it up and slowly began to read.

"The Funeral Of Hearts"

Love's the funeral of hearts
And an ode for cruelty
When angels cry blood
On flowers of evil in bloom

The funeral of hearts
And a plea for mercy
When love is a gun
Separating me from you
(I sit alone in this dark room, the straight jacket tight on my skin. With so much free time, I find myself thinking of you….I so miss your silly joking. How you used to make me laugh over the littlest things. I think about how much I loved you....)”

As he continued reading, he established the fact that he must have picked up a journal entry the girl had made. The red light was over, and he pulled his car to the side of the road. Picking up the paper and again began reading the blurry words.

“She was the sun
Shining upon
The tomb of your hopes and dreams so frail
He was the moon
Painting you
With it's glow so vulnerable and pale

Love's the funeral of hearts
And an ode for cruelty
When angels cry blood
On flowers of evil in bloom

The funeral of hearts
And a plea for mercy
When love is a gun
Separating me from you
(My thoughts on you have no choice but to sway...They begin to recall the memories of your later actions. All the times you supported me, were only there to blind me from your true goal. The betrayal that you bestowed upon me cannot be justified by any means but death.)”

As the words flowed through his mind, the story began to make sense. Everything he needed had been written in words, words that he had discovered, even if to late.

“She was the wind, carrying in
All the troubles and fears you've for years tried to forget
He was the fire, restless and wild
And you were like a moth to that flame

The heretic seal beyond divine
A prayer to a god who's deaf and blind
The last rites for souls on fire
Three little words and a question why
(I loved you…why did you do this to me?..I remember it so well, that day you turned on me. It was so strange to me, that you could change in such quick ways. One minute you were holding me...the next you were accepting their money and handing me away…how could you do this to me??)”

His eyes narrowed slightly as the story took its form. The facts were showing much different from the ones they had gathered from earlier episodes. His mind forming new judgments on the girl now dead in her room.

“Love's the funeral of hearts
And an ode for cruelty
When angels cry blood
On flowers of evil in bloom

The funeral of hearts
And a plea for mercy
When love is a gun
Separating me from you
(Now I can’t help but laugh..As I remember your face...When I returned to you that night...How you looked at that gun so confused...How did you not know that this was your fate?..You betrayed me. And I had come to return the favor...At first I was afraid I couldn’t do it...But one word from your lying tongue and I so easily and willingly pulled the rusty trigger. You fell with such grace…now that you are in peace...i shall come to you again. In happiness. I will join you in heaven soon my love...Wait for me…)”

He finished reading the journal, and returned to his office. He placed all the papers in his folder, looking over the evidence on more time. A sudden voice caught his attention as he glanced up at the TV.

“Police now investigating the death of a fifteen year old girl, who was said to have escaped from a mental institution after the murder of her former employer…cause of death, is still under investigation. The reporter’s voice faded as her turned the TV off. Walking out of the building, with another file..Done and closed.
