Rant on the seriousness (ha) of Fanart...
I find it slightly halirious that people on this site judge fanart so toughly. I mean really people, it's fanart. There's no money in it. You do it for fun. You make little doodles. Don't let it control your life. Please. Get a life people.
hehe, so yeah, I was going though deleteing my fanart off here.. I think I left like, three things. Nothing spectular, but then again, we can't post porn on here can we? Anyways, people's comments made me laugh so hard. Some people are just so serious. Someone told me I should challenge myself and try something with shading and depth, trying to intimidate me by using big words because they think I'm some little kid that doesn't know what I'm doing. I'm actually more impressed with line drawings... mainly because then there's nothing to distract you away from the quaility of the work. People can disgiuse bad drawings with color and shading. :P
People, there's a reason I don't do fanart. It's a waste of time and talent. Honestly. It's great practice when you first start drawing, but really, but I'm more impressed when you can draw your own characters.
There are a million doodles of Naruto in the world. Come up with something that no one has seen before. Or learn how to be.. I don't know, less serious over fanart. IT'S FANART PEOPLE!!! It's stealing other people's creations. I feel the sameway about fanfics, only I have much more respect for fanfic authors then I do for people who draw fanart. Doujinshi however, are a different story. I have much respect for Japanese Doujinshi artist. I know what it's like to screentone and ink. I know how much of a pain it is to even get a story line that's original, or at least memorable (like Kazuma Kodoka's Femme Fatale *drool*). :D
Honestly, I'm kinda being a hypocrit here because I DO like to draw fanart, but I don't feel like I have to do it just so people like me. The difference is, it's not the ONLY thing I do. Just like fanfics are not the only thing I write. Not even the bulk. They're a good break once in awhile, but creative flows from originality, not from plagarism.
This website is an amusing one, but trust me when I say there's a reason why I only log on once a year when they send me the notice that this website still exists. XD
