last i spoke with that evil computer repair lady, stuff didn't look.. well.. good
it's not just some computer wierdness, apparently my hard drive is shot and i need to get a new one ($200-something) which is not too much of a problem, i'd pay double that to just get my freaking files back.. again, i don't know if they'll be able to, she said they could "possibly" save them, and she didn't sound too all-fired optimistic or sympathetic about it.
oh well. i guess i'm doomed to eternal irritation where computers are concerned.
anyway, it's my third day of summer... and it doesn't even feel like it yet. feels like a long weekend.
knox came over yesterday, we relived many nonsensical inside jokes and came up with a few more, the usual agenda. today we spent a good amount of time looking for Tomb Raider so we could watch it (we got the sudden urge, you see) and never did find it, though we pulled the case out from under the tv cabinet.
then we gave up and watched Record of Lodoss War for old time's sake.
the anime is rather cheezy at times, but i love it for the nostalgia it gives me. and the opening theme is the most beautiful thing i have ever heard/seen in my LIFE. the song is awesome to begin with, but the images that go with it.. together they're just undescribable. that opening always gave me this desperate sense of wanting to be a part of something and never being able to. it's like a beautiful, wonderful torture.-_-'
