wow, i got through the Nutcracker alive.
well, not technically, cause it was my job to die :D
(if you missed the other post, i was the nutcracker and sarah was the mouse king, and we did the fight scene with our fencing skillz, so no, we don't dance.)
saturday was definitely our best performance. we did shows every night thursday through sunday. sunday sarah and i were determined to do (and die) our best but we fucked it up pretty bad anyway XD
i'm ordering the dvd so i can see what we looked like, i never did get to see the taped performances yet.
sarah's mom gave us snow globes with a nutcracker in mine and the mouse king in hers and they play one of the more prolific songs from the play. they're awesome XD
also, every single night i had my eye on this picture the photographer had taken of clara and drosselmeier (how the HELL do you spell his name?) me lying dead on the floor and i just thought it was so cool. i really wanted it, but he wasn't selling individual photos. finally on the last night i saw him near the table and i went up and half-jokingly asked if i could have it and he said "yeah, okay sure." i was like OMG YOU ROCK!! i was so happy. i'd been planning to steal it all weekend. XD
also he said i was the only one who thanked him for a picture, though they were giving them away to the major dancers as gifts. bitches.
anyway, in a major way i'm glad it's over, it was really time-consuming and i missed talking to gabe a lot. also though i'm kind of missing it.. it wasn't as nerve-wracking to be onstage as i thought, i barely got nervous at all. which is pretty cool since i barely ever do anything involving large crowds XD
