bye bye beautiful-a shadrouge fic
Cha.1 Bye bye beautiful!
“I’m going out tonight with the rest of the Chaotic, will you be here?” Rouge asked Shadow as she washed the dishes.
“yeah,” Shadow said and stood up from the kitchen table, “yeah I’m be here.”
Rouge listened as Shadow left the room and she frowned, ‘what happened to us? Ever since we got married we’ve been pushed further from each other.’
Finally the hills are without eyes
They are tired of painting a dead man’s face
Red with their own blood
They used to love having so much to lose
Blink your eyes just once and see everything in ruins
Shadow quickly wrote a note and read over it a few times before laying it down, tears streaming down his cheeks, ‘I’m sorry,’ he thought.
Did you ever hear what I told you?
Did you ever read what I wrote you?
Did you ever listen to what we played?
Did you ever let in what the world said?
Did we get this far just to feel your hate?
Did we play to become only pawns in the game?
How blind can you be, don't you see?
You chose the long road, but we'll be waiting
By the time Rouge got home, she realized that Shadow was gone and that he had left a note for her. She picked it up and read it before realizing what it meant and she dropped her bag that was in her hand.
Bye bye, beautiful
Die die, beautiful
“No,” she said and fell to her knees, “why? Why did he leave?” tears streamed down her cheeks and she placed her hand near her mouth, “why now?”
Jacob’s ghost for the girl in white
for the blinded siblings wanting the dying hearth
Lose around a choking heart eternally torn apart
So toll now the funeral bell
Shadow stood by a tree, rain streamed down his face, mixing with his tears. He thought back to the note and he wanted to know how she reacted to it.
‘Rouge?’ Shadow thought, ‘how do you feel about me now? Do you hate me?’
I need to die
to true a lie
“Shadow?” Rouge mumbled and she looked at her hands like there was blood on them, “why?!” she screamed and punched the floor, “dammit where did it all go wrong?!”
“I’m sorry,” Shadow said to himself and he opened his eyes, “it wasn’t working out for us, Rouge. It was never meant to be anything real, we should’ve just stayed friends.’
Images of Rouge flashed into Shadow’s mind and he sighed, ‘we were never happy anyway, but who’s to blame for that?’
Bye bye, beautiful
Die die, beautiful
Bye bye, beautiful
Die die, beautiful
‘I feel so empty now,’ Rouge thought still sitting in the middle of the floor with tears in her eyes, ‘am I the cause? Was I the reason? Who was the cost to this hell?’
It's not the tree that forsakes the flower
Not the flower that forsakes the tree
Some day I'll learn to love this dance
‘It just wasn’t meant to work,’ Shadow told himself and he looked back at the path he had followed. To him, it was a long and dark path.
He turned around and he slowly walked further away from the apartment. He had the choice to turn back, but he kept walking anyway.
How blind can you be, don't you see?
How blind can you be, don't you see?
How blind can you be, don't you see
That the gambler lost all he does not have
Rouge stood up and she walked to her window, hoping to see Shadow return home, but there was no sign of him. That made her cry even more as the thought of her husband walking out on her became unbearable.
She gave off a gasp when she noticed Shadow outside her window and she smiled warmly, “Shadow.”
Did you ever hear what I told you?
Did you ever read what I wrote you?
Did you ever listen to what we played?
Did you ever let in what the world said?
Did we get this far just to feel your hate?
Did we play to become only pawns in the game?
How blind can you be, don't you see?
You chose the long road, but well be waiting
“You came back,” she said and she watched him from outside her window, “he came back!”
Rouge threw open the window and she poked her head out, the rain hitting her face. It was hard to tell which was the rain and which was the tears hitting her red face, “Shadow!” she called with joy.
Shadow slowly turned around and he began to walk away, Rouge gasped and she wept harder, “Shadow!” she wept through a scream.
Bye bye, beautiful
Die die, beautiful
“Shadow! Please, Shadow, don’t! Don’t do this!” she continued to plea through tears, “shadow! Shadow, stop!”
Rouge fell to her knees and the last words of the note echoed through her mind, leaving her sobbing even more.
Bye bye, beautiful
Die die, die die!
THE END
