Noir chapter 8
Cha.8
Knuckles had made a fire for Rouge and he gave her his jacket fro warmth.
“Knuckles, thank you,” Rouge said, “but why are you here?”
“For him,” he answered, “the other day I discovered something new and that’s how I knew he was killing.”
“What was it?” Rouge asked while she narrowed her eyes.
“Bullets. The bullets have holy water in them and when it’s shot it just acts as a normal bullet.”
“But who created them?” Rouge questioned.
“a crazy ass scientist that believed that vampires were real. They’re on the black market and he’s making a fortune off of them!”
Rouge nodded, finally she was understanding and she was getting somewhere.
“a few months ago that same vampire was spotted at an apartment on center street. Killed the family, but there was one survivor.”
Rouge gasped, one? Could that mean…
“You were right, Rouge. You do have a connection with him.”
Rouge watched as Knuckles pulled out his gun and aimed it at her head.
“You’re one of his.”
“What are you talking about?!” Rouge asked, “his? What do you mean?”
“You really have forgotten,” Knuckles said and he placed a hand on her cheek, “everything. It’s all gone.”
“Who are you really?” she questioned.
“Rouge, I’m your, or was, your boyfriend.”
Rouge gasped and her pupils shrunk from shock, “boyfriend? What do you mean?”
“I’m your former lover. I thought you died until I found you at the hospital with no memories. So I left you,” Knuckles said and he pulled himself closer to Rouge, “we can finally be together.”
‘What?’ she thought as Knuckles pulled himself in for a kiss.
He stopped with a gasp and he looked down. Rouge’s hands were placed gentyl on her shoulder.
“Rouge?”
“I’m sorry,” she said, “if what you’re saying is true, then I must find him.”
“But…”
Rouge forced a smile, “I have to,” she said and stood up.
“Wait!”
She stopped and she faced knuckles.
“Shadow? Do you love him?”
She remained silent, then, she smiled warmly, “I think I do. I want to thank you for telling me this. I’ll see you around.”
Knuckles watched as Rouge flew away and he growled, ‘so that’s how you want to play? I’ll kill that damn vampire for taking away the one I love!’
