Today hasn't been my best day
Saw the doc today...am on meds for my headaches. There are some risks, but hey, its only temporary. The pills may or may not work. At least I only take them when needed.

Hey, I had this group worksheet to finish in english class today, entitled "Who should survive?" Thought I would share it.
------
A massive nation-wide disaster has left a small number of people alive in America. Unfortunately, some of these people must be eliminated in order for the rest to survive. In this assignment, choose seven of the following people to survive this disaster and create and lead a new country. List these survivors in the order you would choose them and why.

Dr. Dane- thirty-seven, white, no religous affiliations, PhD in history, college professor, in good health (jogs daily), hobby is botany, enjoys politics, married with one child (Bobby).

Mrs. Dane--38, white, jewish, rather obese, diabetic, MA in psychology, counselor in a mental health clinic, married to Dr. Dane, has one child.

Bobby Dane--ten, white, jewish, mentally retarded with an IQ of 70, haalthy and strong for his age.

Mrs. Garcia- 23, spanish-american, catholic, ninth grade education, cocktail waitress, worked as prostitute, married at age 16, divorced at age 18

Jean Garcia- 3 month old, spanish american, healthy

Mary Evans- 18, black, protestant, trade school education, wears glasses, artistic

Mr. Newton- 25, black power advocate, starting last year of medical school, suspected homosexual activity, music as hobby, physical fitness buff.

Mrs. Clark- 28, black protestant, daughter of a minister, college graduate, electronics engineer, single now after brief marriage, member of Zero Population Growth.

Mr. Blake- 51, white, mormon, BS in mechanics, married with 4 children, enjoys outdoors, much experience in construction, quite handy, sympathizes with antiblack views.

Father Frans- 37, white, catholic, priest, active in civil rights, former college athlete, farming background, often critized for liberal views.

Dr. Gonzales- 66, spanish american, catholic, doctor in general practice, 2 heart attacks in the past 5 years, loves literature and quotes extensively.

-------

Whew, a bit long there. My group was all about young, young young. We elimated Dr. Gonzales because he was gonna keel over soon anyway (disagreed with that); Mrs. Clark because she is a member who opposes population growth, and the 2 kids because they are too young and will get in the way.

Heartless people. I was tempted to ask them to imagine they had a kid who was retarded. Would they kill so easily then.

Yeah, I'm a bit mad.

Anyways, respond to that if you like--thought it would be good for discussion.
