Welcome to my underground lair (frickin' sharks not included)
Good Evening! I'm sad to report that anything Otaku is still blocked out by my schools' filtering program, so I can only do this every so often. :(

On a lighter note, I've got a half day of school tomorrow, during which I'll purchase the latest Shonen Jump. And, I've had my own personal poetry thread going on OtakuBoards for a while now, so I figured now would be a perfect time to pimp my musings. If you wanna read, go here: http://www.otakuboards.com/showthread.php?t=37382

Itte ki masu!

Maybe I shouldn't go complaining about school so much...
Well, whaddya know. My school has some sense after all. They've recently added some great graphic novels to the collection, including classic Marvel titles, along with Oh! My Goddess! for some reason. Unfortunately, you can't check them out. You have to read them there. >_<

Also, they've gotten a huge book full of haiku, which is pretty cool. And I'm reading this book called Buddha Boy, which is a very good book about a Buddhist boy (go figure) in high school, from the perspective of another teen. It's a really good read, and I'd recommend it to anybody.

I'm kinda pressed for time right now, so this is as good as it gets for tonight! Itte ki masu, komban wa, and may the Schwartz be with you!

What the snap? This is so unfair...!
Well, this sucks. Apparently, the filtering program for my school's computers has somehow managed to characterize every aspect of the Otaku realm as 'GAME'. Which can all be blamed on a very spiteful librarian, who thinks that Dragonball is also a game. >_< Thus, I can't post in school anymore, until the problem is solved (which is highly unlikely).

On a much lighter note, while watching Yu Yu Hakusho (:D) I saw a commercial for the Astro Boy anime, which is coming to Toonami on March 8th. I'm taking it all in a nonchalant fashion, and for one reason. Despite the fact that it's supposedly one of the best anime around, I still can't get over that old early-80s character style. It kinda bugs me. I don't know why. Does anyone know more about it?

Also, the new Shonen Jump is out. Points for Viz. I have yet to purchase it, but I'm planning on doing so tomorrow. Can't wait to see what's transpiring in the pages of Naruto and Hikaru no Go. The contrast is amazing, ya?

Until next time (which will have to wait until at least 3:00 pm... >_< ), itte ki masu!

OMFG AAARGH!!!
Ugh. It's been quite possibly one of the most annoying days of my life. And here's why.

Today, I had a doctor's appointment. It's an appointment I only have to go for once every five years (complicated: early childhood heart-problem-related). Because of the Kawasaki's Syndrome I had as a kid, I'm a bit overweight. So I go to the doctor's office as scheduled, and he tells me I'm overweight. As if I didn't know this already. Then he tells me I need to diet and exercise more.

However, he is unable to comprehend the fact that my surgeon told me I wasn't to partake in any strenuous activity (including gym) to ensure my wound didn't rip open. I am then lectured on what I've done wrong, with no opportunity for rebuttal/explanation. As you can guess, I'm very angry by this point. But, I kept it in until I got to the parking lot. Then I started wailing on a wall (ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow!!!), which actually helped. What's really ironic about the whole situation is that I'm being lectured on weight-watching by a man who is by far, as far as body height-to-weight ratio, much more overweight than I am. And he comes into the office eating a sammich. >_< Which is full of carbs. I'm so angry. Who wants to share their anger tales with cynical doctors?

Ah, n00bs. What entertainment.
Well, as I type, there is an extremely idiotic spamming spree going on with OB, as some random new member is posting threads everywhere stating "f*** you all". Whoever this person is, I'm sure they'll be deleted/IP banned within the next five minutes. Hopefully. Which leads me into my next rants: n00bs. What's the deal? They always make the dumbest mistakes, offend the most people, and are always completely idiotic. Now, I know this isn't necessarily true for ALL n00bs everywhere, but it's a growing trend for idiots to join up. I just don't get it. We've all had our share of n00b-related problems, and I hope that by now people realize by n00b I mean people like the aforementioned soon-to-be-ex-member known as 'screwmegently' (again, WTF?).

Seriously. There are just too many idiotic people nowadays. That's why my friend Caru and I have started an extensive 'War on Error' campaign. I'm not talking about the WoE from NationStates.net, that's just for RP's sake. The meatspace WoE is basically an online attempt at combatting idiots (dubbed 'errorists') across the WWW. There are quite a few on NS, and it seems that they've begun infiltrating OB. So, I see there's plenty of work to be done.

'Til next time, itte ki masu!

(Why hasn't anybody said anything about my previous post?)

Ugh... What's this world coming to?
Well, I am thoroughly disappointed. I was reading the newspaper, and found an article stating that George Bush is working on a "Constitutional" Amendment (and I use the term 'constitutional' lightly) that would ban gay marriage. >_<

Is it just me, or is it highly hypocritical to deny a group the right to marriage simply because a few zealous Bible-beaters are going insane over the prospect of gay marriage? Bush has repeatedly stated that gay marriage would basically undermine the sanctity of marriage. What a load of crap! The very same argument was used when people were attempting to ban inter-racial marriage.

Is it just me, or isn't the President supposed to represent the will of the majority, and protect the rights of all? I know very few people who would want a ban on gay marriage, and the same seems to be said of the rest of the nation. What I find very ironic is that there has been no feedback from the people on the subject in the news. During the War on Terror's beginnings, ABC, CNN, and many other news stations ran frequent polls on the people's opinions about teh WoT. And yet, I see nothing as to the people's opinions on gay marriage...!

All in all, I find Bush's current stance on the subject, and his actions relating to it, very disconcerting. If anyone has an opinion on this, or would like a civil discussion/debate, please feel free to e-mail me.

Here's to OtakuBoards!
Wow. When I loaded OtakuBoards, my jaw shattered as it hit the ground at, well, breakjaw-speed, I'm assuming. The graphical enhancements are superb, the layout is smooth, and navigation has become oh-so-much easier. Also, new options such as linking myOtaku and OB together add for a fresh spin on old-school goodness. Props to Adam, James, and all the crew of theOtaku, and the OB. You guys are awesome.

Warhawkery at its best! *beams proudly*
For those of us who play NationStates, here's a random activity I'm sure we'll appreciate. http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2765113#2765113

WAR! Oh happy day! I'm the one known as Seppuko (and Joshu, as well). The War on Error goes on! Errorists are going down.

Unfair doesn't begin to describe it!
Morning all! I'm definitely going to enjoy today! The reason? The surgery I was scheduled to undergo today was cancelled! I don't need it! My Wednesday is free to do with as I see fit! :D Of course, I choose to spend it alone in front of my computer, fuming over the unfairness I described in the post title! ^^

The reason for the fumigation? Simple. There's a remake of Zatoichi out in Japan, and I have no idea if it's coming out in the states! >_< But still, this movie looks excellent, from what I've seen on NHK. For some reason, Zatoichi has white hair now, but I guess it's just to show that he's the hero. In case you don't know who Zatoichi is, well, he's the main character in a series of old samurai movies. Zatoichi is, for all intents and purposes, completely blind. And yet, he manages to be a feared swordsman. (Sound familiar? It should, because to train for his role in Daredevil as the blind superhero, Ben Affleck watched the Zatoichi movies and studied his movements.)

That was one long-winded (or is it keyed?) paragraph. ^^x Oh, and like I said yesterday, you absolutely have to join up at the Bugei Sword Forum. It's an absolutely great place.

It's official. Life is on the up and up...!
Wow. I stumbled upon one of the greatest forums ever (next to OB, of course). http://swordforumbugei.com/phpBB2/index.php If you're deep into samurai, their culture, or just Japanese Swords in general, go there. It's full of a bunch of people who are really committed to that sort of thing, and they're totally serious about it. Not that they don't know how to have fun. I just mean that they're all into it. Which is a good thing. Ah, enough from me. JUST GO THERE! ;)
