   OMFG
Here's my FFCC Review, as promised. :D

As many people know, I'm an avid PS2 player. So, it was a big surprise when I saw the graphics of Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles. These are the best graphics I've seen out of all the Final Fantasies (I'm talking in-game. FFX still wins during cinematics.) I never knew the Cube could look so good.

Now, Crystal Chronicles isn't going to win any awards for greatest story. The plot basically revolves around your party traveling the countryside, gathering drops of 'myrrh', which powers the crystal protecting your village from the torrents of miasma that flow across the planet (translation: Miasma BAD. Myrrh GOOD). But, despite this flaw, I can't help but love this game.

I'm going to lay this on the line right now: You must play this game in multiplayer. It's a much more entertaining experience, and it makes things much easier. Because believe me, despite its soft, sexy exterior, FF:CC is an Olympiad of the thumbs (the most important appendages, as any gamer knows). The boss battles, and there are many, range in difficulty from relatively easy to OMFG, throw-the-controller hard. Of course, I've only managed to get to three bosses so far, but that much range of difficulty in the first two hours means this game is awesome.

As for the gameplay, it's not your typical FF. It plays more akin to Diablo, as it's more of a hack-and-slash than your traditional RPG. Don't worry, though, there's plenty of roleplaying to be had. The only thing is, you don't update your characters stats. You just go through the dungeons/areas and utilize your stabby-stab abilities. Which is fun, despite how boring it sounds. In actuality, the sprawling levels, combined with some spectacular puzzles and engaging enemies, make you want to keep fighting.

As for the game's characters, well, you make your own. Of course, you get to choose from a set of different species (ranging from renamed humans to bizarre, off-the-wall onion-headed children). There are also occupations, but I haven't discovered their importance yet. They seem to be just a filler option. And, best of all, you can name them using a myriad of letters which can result in some hilarious names. (Such as CarÜ and Roaargh :D)

All in all, Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles is a superb gaming experience that is sure to deliver for both RPG fans and casual gamers alike. I give it an Adam Sessler-esque 5/5 (but I'm NOT wearing a tutu).
