Good news! Kir is doing fine, she just has an upper respiratory infection, so she's on medication. That takes a load off my shoulders. Otakon in two days! Yay! I'm so excited. ^_^ And I actually have money to spend because my mom's giving me credit for not having been annoying or lazy for the past few weeks. Heh heh, little does she know...
Oh, very good yaoi manga I found yesterday--Skyscrapers of Oz. Um, rather explicit. Yeah. I'm surprised the lady at the cash register didn't say anything. But anyway, it had a very cool story and I liked the art a lot, so check it out if you can find it... I was lucky to see it floating behind some other books on the shelf. ^_^U

Ugh, I feel like crap. I hate hate HATE the first day of my period... I think I'm going to puke or keel over or something...
I still don't know the results of Kir's vet visit today. It looked like she had an eye infection and her teeth were too long for her to eat properly (she had things to chew, she just never did), so she was getting really thin. I could poke around in her cage to see if she's still there but if she is I don't want to wake her up. I think she probably had to be put down though. What a crappy afternoon. I'm going to bed.

Let's celebrate today. Why? Because my total visits are 1337, that's why. I will now proceed to post entirely in 1337. ^_^U

Just looking at that makes my brain hurt. Yay! Brain pain!
[LATER] Oh. My. Dear. Lord. Above.
*rrrrriinnnnng* "Hello?"
"Hi... Is this DC 101?"
"No, it is not."
"Oh, sorry. Wrong number." *click*
AHAHAHAHAHA!! For those of you who don't know, DC 101 is a local "alternative rock" station. I am not a local "alternative rock" station. Hee.

TheHugeManatee: ...
TheHugeManatee: You didn't make him clothes
AnimeNToast: Nope
TheHugeManatee: So he's naked
AnimeNToast: Yup
TheHugeManatee: I am afraid of what you do at night with that doll
AnimeNToast: I sleep
TheHugeManatee: With a naked doll
AnimeNToast: Yup
That's right folks, Ed is finished. Or at least his body is. He has no clothes. I'm working on it, I swear. In any case, he kinda turned out a piece of crap, but I still love him. ^_^ I really cannot sew. But oh well, he's still nice to cuddle. Ahem. Yes.

Well, we had one hell of a T-storm last night. Blew a poplar branch into the little maple in our backyard and cleaved it right in half. The power's been out since the storm, but now it's back. *joy* Unfortunately, a power surge killed my monitor. Weep for the huge, awesome monitor. But at least we still had my old one, which has now returned to the seat of power. Almost had a situation like that of my first few weeks on myO, having to go over to my grandparents', but it's all good. Yeehaw.
One more day of Japanese class. I'll be glad. I think my brain is going to explode with knowledge. During these two weeks' time I have mastered hiragana, delved into katakana, and know a few kanji. I can conjugate a verb and know when to use "ni" and when to use "de". It's been very successful. I'm happy, and high on life. ^_^

Ow! ... Ow! ... Ow! Damn demon-pins!
Yes. I am now hard at work on my latest endeavor (along with studying katakana, kanji, grammar, and vocabulary simultaneously for 6 hours a day o.o), a plushie. I'm not telling you of whom it's a plushie, but with any luck, I'll get it up as fanart, since technically it counts (just an unusual medium). I may be the first person here at theO/myO to do this... Sweet! Noody steal my idea, kay?
I've been working for the past two days and have barely finished the arms. This may be because I spent yesterday getting the sewing machine tangled up and therefore stumping about the house wailing about my shortcomings as a seamstress. I'm whiny like that. ^_^ Anyway, we've got it all sorted it out now. If only those damn pins would stop stabbing me and pinning bits of arms to my pants.
As far as demons go, I'm looking for some kind of reference containing information on various demons (form, powers, etc.) from different cultures. For instance, oni, yoko, and kappa from Japan (and right there is the extent of my cultural demonic knowledge; ouch). So if anyone's got any tips, I'd thank you.
Oh yeah, just finished reading Howl's Moving Castle; it seems to have affected my writing style. :P

Killed the hermit
yet all Jick gave me was this
lousy Mr. Shirt
Welcome to the Kingdom of Loathing. Well, it's just as much a welcome to me as to anyone else, but I can't welcome myself, now can I? KoL: The land of annoying n00bs, an insane (in a good way, like, funny and cool and stuff...yeah) admin, and haiku. Play. I command it.
I wonder if anyone notices or cares that I'm a chronic lurker. I just float around inconspicuously and quote funny things I read. Yup. *lurks*
Also: わたし は にほんご の クラス に こんしゅう と らいしゅう に いきます! クラス は むずかしい です、 でも、 クラス が すき です。
If you can read that, sorry it's so beginner-ish, but I've only had a few weeks of class my whole life. If you can't read it, either because you don't have the right font or are Japanese-illiterate, it just says I'm taking Japanese classes this week and next week, and though it's difficult I love it. Yeah. I'd put in some kanji too but the ones I know don't apply here. ^_^U Okay, so that's all for now. Ciao.

All right, since I promised.
The book was Tithe by Holly Black (how much do you wanna bet that's a pen name?). It "rocked my blinking socks off the freaking wall". Ah, good stuff... It's hard to describe. Umm. Uhh. Go read it, it won't cost you more than a few bucks. It's gorey, sorry.
In other news, I've got a new graphics card that is really screwing with my comp. But it's very pretty. It's kind of odd when your monitor has better resolution thatn your own eyes. >o< So I'm going to reinstall the problem program (take a wild guess) and see if that does anything. Ooh, and the little memory boost is actually making my computer run faster. ^_^ Yay!
Who else was watching FMA last night? Near the end of the ep Ed was ripping his shirt off to reveal his auto-mail arm whilst preaching about something or other (by this point I had been reduced to a drooling heap). He goes, "Is this what you want?!" I'm staring at his shirtlessness going "@#^%*#, YES, goddammit!" Then I went to bed and had scary dreams where I had to jump along rooftops to escape an evil robot golden retriever. Welcome to the life of Tory.

Blah... Blah... Blah...
I browsed the otaku question over at Ask John, and have decided that both definitions of "otaku" can apply to me... God knows during the school year I pay way more attention to anime, manga, and all things related that float about on the internet than I do to my schoolwork (hence my declining grades...). And naturally I'm more interested in anime than in chores, family gatherings (unless it's my cousin Elizabeth Conner, who may or may not be giving me some DVDs of the whole FMA series...), and often my own needs. So really I'm just fine with someone calling me an otaku because it's true in every sense of the word. And the fact that I'm a little proud of my over-immersion may signify that I am psychologically off-kilter.
Anyway. Last night I went to a sleepover party. ^_^ It was a Murder Mystery party, the kind where you get handed a booklet on your character with a description of what you did on the night of the murder as well as other details, and you question each other in an attempt to find out who the murderer is--but even the murderer doesn't know if he/she's lying. It was really fun. ^_^ We split into two groups to solve the mystery, and our group nearly got it right, but the other group nailed it. :P The cake was incredible... And then we set up bedding on the floor and watched the first DVD of DNAngel--my gift to the party girl--until 4:30 in the morning. Then I had to go to karate class at 1 this afternoon. I wore myself out on the offense-defense drill. I also met a white belt that joined while I was taking a break from karate. Then, at the end, I got singled out for a jujitsu demonstration on neck grabs. Owie. I learned though, and that's good. Ah, showers are wonderful things...
I'll tell you all about the book later. ^o^
