Nobody ever emails me anymore... except spammers
And occasionally the bot at FF.net, telling me that yet another lovely shounen-ai fanfic has yet another lovely chapter. Wish that happened more often though.
I saw the rest of Fruits Basket in order again last night, with Ashley. I wanted to cry so much. A lot of things started tugging at me, like Tohru talking to Ritsu, trying to persuade him not to jump off the roof. I'm so glad I have my own Tohru's, my parents and my friends and Nick. I hope everyone knows that I owe my life to you, if just a little or a whole lot. I'll do my best to make it worth your effort, I promise. *nod nod*
It's been a while since I did an emotional post. Furuba really makes you think, though. By the way, am I the only one who thinks Kyou's "true form" is awfully cute? Might sound sorta weird, but I'm the person who also thinks snakes and cicadas are adorable, so please excuse it. ^_^

Randomness not really related to my life
Bored, I decided to type my name into Google and see what we got. Naturally, a lot of "Conservative" pages. There's apparently a Tory homepage. Also, a golf resort, a "finger pad" company, and an institute of natural history. And some guy named John Tory. And, to my delight, a nature photo gallery in Japanese. Really amazingly pretty stuff.
Ashley brought back presents from Korea! ^___^ They had a hard time finding Ramune in Japan (there was the fact that none of them speak Japanese, or read it for that matter), but they brought back this awesome little model of a Buddhist temple bell. It's so pretty! In Hawaii, Ash. got to swim with the dolphins from 50 First Dates. And she has a hot 2nd cousin. So yeah. Now, only Lisa has to find her way back to the continental US. I'm waitin'.

It's FRIDAY! KINYOUBI DESU! WHOO! I'm bushed after this past week. 'Twas good though. I keep wanting to say everything in Japanese, so I'll do my best to stick to mostly English.
We've gotten so much done in our anime class. Our entire setting is pretty much done. We've got a whole planet set up, and gods, and... Yeah. My character is a half-dog half-human underwater pirate (the planet is almost entirely underwater). We've also got some aristocrat kid who was kicked out of his city because he's host to the Dark Wind God, which will kill him if it comes to full power. There's a waterberry farmer who has that diver's problem with water pressure making them go crazy, and a stowaway genius mechanic who occasionally turns into a mass-murdering maniac. Sounds fun, huh? And so, there's this cult following the Dark Wind God, who is after Blue (host-boy) to try and bring out the god's powers, which, unfortunately, will kill Blue. Our job is to not get Blue killed. ^_^U Yeah.
In Japanese we've learned a ton of junk. I can't even begin. So, to sum it up, we've got: dates and time; days; school supplies; family members; furniture/appliances; colors; numbers; fruits and vegetables; basic sentences; useful phrases. Also, we hope to be done with the 46 basic hiragana by next week. OY!
So. This weekend I send out invitations and help to get my new bookshelves installed. Life is too busy for it to be summer. =_=

Wow, what a crazy day yesterday was. Well, I officially started my Japanese/anime class (I'm getting taught about anime, how cool is that?) on Monday. Ooh, it's so cool! It's ggreat to be learning this stuff in a classroom situation, even if our class is a whopping three people, including me. We've got a quiz tomorrow on the first ten basic hiragana--it feels so cool to say that!
The anime class rocks. The guy who's teaching it, name of John, brings in a TV and DVD player each day so we can watch stuff, and we even got to see some of a game he brought along. Right now the class is hooked on Star Ocean EX, but the bootleg subbing is horrible. I'll never forget the deadly "phrase gun". Our homework for tonight is to design a character, and we're going to put them together and write a script as a class.
Anyway, to the important bit. Yesterday when we got home, we discovered the phone and cable wires hanging limp in the middle of the road. We're not sure what happened to cause that, but at least Comcast came along today right away to fix our cable (hence the internet access). The phone company won't be along till tomorrow, so if anyone is reading this who's tried to call my home phone number... Call someone's cell instead. Heh.
Nothing like a little "teh" in the middle of a dramatic and dignified speech.

I went on a "cruise" today. It was a few hours on the Potomac river with a buffet and stuff, the summer event for the place my mom works at. It really drained me. I hadn't eaten for 15+ hours when I got on board, and I was STARVING! So I was grumpy until I got some food in me. The food was horrible though. Only really good stuff was the buffalo wings (were? was? blah, headache). Then I went out on the deck and got my hair blown around for a while and looked at dead fish. Then we turned around and I didn't have the wind in my face anymore, so I got uncomfortably warm and sullen.

Today I realized how lonely I am this summer. No one really to talk to now. Lisa's in Hawaii, Ashley's in Korea, and Kelly's somewhere. Nobody's ever online anymore and I can't just sleep all summer. I need human contact. v_v Japanese classes start on Monday, but I'll only have two people to talk to (three-person class, whoohoo!), and if they turn out to hate my guts then this will be the season of hell.

Rarrg. My only company now is my Sims, and they don't even speak English. Oh, save me, seiyuu! Speak your comforting words to me to ease my aching loneliness. Nothing like losing yourself in anime.

The curse of excercise
Well, I won't be doing volleyball at Good Counsel next year like I wanted to. At the tryouts you have to run a mile in 8 minutes 15 seconds or you don't get your uniform. I think my last mile time was around 12 or 13 minutes. I'm bad at running long distance. I'm not very good at running short distance. Blech.
I thought briefly about trying to get in shape over the summer, then tried a workout plan and dropped it after the first try. I have no physical drive. I'm lazy in all capital letters. I got interested in volleyball because you don't have to run very much, but apparently it doesn't make a difference after all. Reading the tryout requirements really made my day a bummer...
Which is why I'm resolved to never get my hopes up too much about any sport ever again. Air hockey requires reflexes, horseback makes my thighs cramp up (otherwise it's okay though, except when riding English because I can't post), karate means you have to be able to spar and do things with spinning involved (I get dizzy easily ^_^U). So I guess it's back to really easy video games. At least I'll have skinnier thumbs!

Well, it's summer. That time of the year when I stay up all night and sleep all day and get really out of shape. Funfunfunfun!
Thanks for all the happy birthdays, I had a great time. ^_^ I've been thinking, it might seem like we're a really rich family since we buy so much stuff all the time. Not really... We spend all the money we get on trivial stuff. It must run in the family. There's a saying I found on a T-shirt at AnimeNation that says, "Anime: Crack is cheaper". How true, how very true. So we keep impulse-buying and borrowing money to pay off the mortgage and the school tuitions. We do get by though.
I got new speakers (the old ones were crackling all the time--they were ancient, I've had the same ones for all my computers since I first had my own) and the Makin' Magic Sims expansion. I love getting the garden gnomes drunk. No idea why, just watching them wobble around is priceless. Also good when you remember that great old line, "Oh my god, he's got a gnome!"

OOOOOHHHHHH, GOOD day!! Well, sort of. Mostly. But it coulda been worse, so I shouldn't really complain, even if it is my hobby and all.
The mail came: Kino's Journey 3, Witch Hunter Robin 5, and Twelve Kingdoms Piano Memories.
We went down to Lakeforest mall, the only mall in our area with a sane Suncoast left in it (the only other Suncoast just moved into the old KBToys slot and it's a wreck). So we had lunch/dinner (lincher? Uuhhh...) and then split up into two groups: my dad and me, and then Jane all by herself to go clothes shopping. First my dad and I checked the comic store. *raspberry* Teeny manga selection. Then we went to Waldenbooks and I was delighted to find just the manga I wanted, plus a little summin' special on the side... But Jane called from "outside" the Suncoast, which was right next door and reminded me she had some Tokyopop coupons for there. So we hopped on over and found Jane about eighty feet away from the entrance and finally got down to buying stuffs. I got Eerie Queerie and Kill Me, Kiss Me volumes 1, and then the next volume of Eerie Queerie to put the coupon to use. We also picked up some more Azumanga Daioh. Then I dragged Jane back to Waldenbooks to show her the little summin' special.
Excuse me while I truthfully say that I GOT A VESPA FOR MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!
Sure, it's about five inches tall and made of rubber, but nobody's perfect.
Now I resent not getting that D model I saw once...
I digress. Well, I'm talking about yesterday I suppose, and today is MY 14TH BIRTHDAY! OH MY GOODNESS! I'M LEGALLY OLD ENOUGH TO GET A JOB! EEK! I hope no one expects me to work over the summer. I've got studying to do. Japanese and drawing, thank you very much. Busybusybusy!
So yeah. Eerie Queerie is so good. Nothing like some luscious yaoi manga to start off the 14th year of your life. (Oh yeah, now I can't even feel guilty about watching Adult Swim. Yeehaw! Let's get this party started!)

It's a SUBJECT! Because it has to have one! Eep!
My sunburn now looks scaly. Is this bad? I mean, moreso than before? Hmm.
I LOOOOOOOVE Musicmatch Jukebox. It's so much better for storing music files than WMP. The playlist setup is less fun, and the categorization isn't the best, but at least you can save the music files as something other than media library format. So, now I just have to find all my CDs and re-rip them in MP3 format! Oh boy. ...
Finally watched the end of Abenobashi. I'll admit it, I cried. I'm a big crier. I cried at Lisa's grandma's funeral, and Lisa herself didn't. Course she had spent the last few nights crying, so she had an advantage... Where was I? Oh yeah, the end of Abenobashi. Not as funny as the rest of it, and the beginning was really the most fun part of the series, but nobody's perfect.
Hopefully we'll go on a manga shopping trip tonight and hopefully some stuff will be out. I can't wait till my birthday! I can't wait till my birthday party! WHEE! I found a great site for buying manga supplies like pens and screentones. Maybe I'll get lucky and get some of that! *wishful thinking*
