Lobster of Revenge, AWAY!
Yeah, that's right, I finally got the FLCL soundtrack. I've been pretty much obsessed with it since we got it last night. I also picked up the third volume of Yu Yu Hakusho and some Yu Yu GBA game which is kind of hard for me. Ah, well. I also got a couple pairs of suede pants at this huge sale at Sears. I almost got a leather skirt but it was a bad cut for me...
Happy Valentine's Day! And happy belated birthday, Nick. *sigh* I guess that's all I really had to say. Not much going on in my life or in my head besides song lyrics.

Back to the Beginning
I just finished up reading Maarii's story, and the ending is giving me a feeling of closure and rebirth (I know, I think of strange things). Life has been hectic for a long time now, but the hecticness is all pretty mundane stuff. Homework. Chores. Therapist and psychiatrist appointments. Illness. And not like interesting illness, just the general winter mix, sinuses, throat, unbearably dry skin. In any case, I feel like going back to the way I usd to post. I want to just post what's on my mind.
I want to draw a person dancing. Not modern dancing, or ballet, or something like that, just dancing. Like when you feel amazingly free and unhurried, but you have so much energy, and you just want to spin all over the place with your arms flying in the air... I'm not the only one who gets this, right? I just wish I had some drawing left in me. I've been doodling all day, and a lot yesterday and so forth. I'm all drawn out, no pun intended. Blech.
It's TOO SUNNY! It's ok that it's warm, but the sun is making me feel muggy. I am just not having a good day feeling-wise.
I feel bad that I can't think of anything to do for Nick on his birthday (tomorrow) and Valentine's Day (three days away) besides saying "Happy birthday!" and "Happy Valentine's Day!". I tried drawing him a picture but it looks pretty crappy and I don't feel like trying again. I thought about forcing him to go out and get a PO box so I could send him a card or two, but that didn't seem very nice or convenient. So I'm stuck. I wish I could just make his chicken pox go away so he could feel good on his sixteenth birthday. It's just not right! T_T
OOOOoooohhh, my stuff from AnimeNation JUST got in the door! YAY! Ramune soft drinks for Tory! *runs off with bottles in her arms*

Well, folks, let us see what has happened in the last few days...
We gave Gavin back because he couldn't get along with Chaucer, but we got a call a few days ago saying that he's found a new home already! The elderly couple we talked to on Saturday at the adoption show submitted the papers and had a good house check, so Gavin's got a forever home. ^_^
In less happy news, Nick has the chicken pox and is not feeling well in body and spirit. It's times like these I wish I could cheer people up better.
Also, my mom deleted her account here. She just didn't feel like she fit in. *sadness*
In anime-related news, we picked up the first DVD of Lost Universe and the second DVD of Witch Hunter Robin, and ordered a heap of stuff from AnimeNation. My favorite purchase is a T-shirt emblazoned with Baka Gaijin in kanji. Fun.
An interesting article was in my dad's Games magazine. The world's oldest known board game, The Game of Flying Obelisks, has been found in Egypt, though it could possibly be around 7,000 years old, predating Egyptian civilization, and connected with whoever built the Sphinx of Giza. The rules are kinda complicated, but I thought this would be interesting news for all you fellow Yugioh fans (even though the game is a bit older than Atem's age).

Fan mail response
After discovering that the writer of the English script of Trouble Chocolate is also a famed web writer and author of the book "Why Girls Are Weird" were one and the same, Pamela Ribon, and any anime work she might have done was not mentioned on her page, my mom wrote her some fan mail. Here is the response:
Aw, thanks, Jane!
I've never gotten one fan mail for my anime writing before. I had so much
fun writing Trouble Chocolate.
Other anime I've written include:
Lost Universe (after the first four or eight episodes. i can't remember
when i started that one)
Project Arms (don't bother)
I was the voice of Kaori for City Hunter (adv films)
Street Fighter II V (UK version) I've never seen how those turned out
And sadly, the never-dubbed All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku, my
favorite anime series. they lost the tapes and couldn't make the dubs. But
check out the japanese version. Very funny.
Wow. Thanks so much!
-p
Naturally I ran around the house squealing for about half an hour after seeing the response. Then I actually read it, and squealed some more. So, the moral of this story is obviously:
Go watch some dubbed TC! Or else! *brandishes flamethrower*
...^_~

Warning: Long, angry rant about school
Gavin (the big German shepherd we're fostering) is being a pain in the proverbial butt. He won't stop barking! He's like Chaucer, only worse! Gah! I just want to throw something at him to make him shut up!
He reminds me of... DUHN DUHN DUHN, Sr. Daniel Mary! You thought she might have let up a little or something after all these snow days, didn't you? DIDN'T YOU?! Well, she didn't. She's being a butt-crack. -_- There's this one book report she's bugging me about, bugging me and bugging me and bugging me. I don't see why she can't just leave me alone and give me a bad grade on my report card. She says it's unfair that I "don't have to do it" while all the other girls did. I think it's unfair that she gets to control my life and act like she's suddenly the Great Mistress of the Universe. She asked me why I didn't have my book report, and i told her, "Because I didn't want to do it." She said, "That's not an option." Uhh, yes it is. It's not an option if I want good grades, but I never said I wanted that, or at least I don't now. I'd just rather be a lazy butt and fail school, personally, because I can't take this! Everyone's like, "You need good grades, you need to get into a good high school, you need to do this, you need to do that! You'll regret it later in life if you don't do it now!" I'm sorry, but since when did grades and schools dictate my ability to have a good life? I didn't think our existences revolved around money and snotty boring office jobs and bossing people around, but apparently it does. Huh. You learn something new every day.
I never understood homework entirely either. I mean, when you've just spent ~7 hours in the hellhole we call school, do you really want to come home and do MORE work? Do they think we'll forget it if it isn't being pounded into our brains every freakin' minute of every freakin' day? I thought teachers were supposed to teach us things, not inanimate objects, i.e. really aggravating math textbooks and vague worksheets.
I also didn't think it was in a teacher's job description to try and control our lives. Homework takes up time that could be spent getting excersise (they complain that we don't get enough; well, here's your chance to redeem yourselves), doing social things (they say we're not close enough to our familes; could this be, perhaps, because we don't have any time to talk to them about something other than question #19?), or sleeping (they also say kids aren't getting enough sleep; go figure). They try to shape the way we think, change our point of view, "brighten" our futures. Maybe I'm the only one, but I'm not positive knowing what a schwa is will help my chosen career, any of them. By the way, a schwa is one of those phonetic spelling things; it looks like an upside-down 'e' and can't seem to decide what its vowel sound is supposed to be. Oh yeah, vital information.
Maybe I really am some kind of snobby smart kid, since I feel that what I'm learning isn't adequate or pertinent to my life. But that's another thing. There are many walks of life. There is no straight and narrow. We all screw up, we all make different decisions, we all find different solutions to our problems and have different priorities and talents. You could find this entire rant rubbish, silly, foolish ideas formed by a troubled or brash young mind. Well, maybe they are. But they're my ideas, influenced by my mother's encouragement of individuality, and they're how I think. You are welcome to pose your own ideas, and shape your own life. It doesn't matter what other people think, as long as you feel what you are doing is the right thing and isn't really terribly stupid. So take that, Sr. Who "can't be creative" now?

*sigh*
Well look what I've gone and done now-- I've gone and done away with my whole shnazzy site layout! Ah well. Not much you can do about it. Except maybe bug me a lot until I get so frustrated I just go ahead and stick the code back in. Meh.
I like the new colors and such. FUN! ^^ So there. If you have any problems with visibility because of color combinations, tell me and I'll fix it.
Been visiting Elfwood recently (it's an art site and other things). Lots of great artists there. Makes me realize I've got a long way to go. But I will persevere! It also helped my love of vampires to resurface. Ah, the beauty of the undead...
Valentine's Day coming up and FOR ONCE i'M NOT SINGLE! HAHAHAHAHA! TAKE THAT, CRUEL WORLD! I have finally defeated the Valentine's blues (as I have just dubbed it)! I offer to everyone without a special somebody on Valentine's Day...
Something really great. Okay, so I don't know what! Umm, a hug! Or Pocky! Ah, take your pick. Just trying to make you feel better, because I know how much some people hate that accursed holiday. I'm stressed too, if it makes you feel better. I have no idea what to give Nick, plus his birthday is just two days before that! Maybe I could give him a hairball.
No, I don't have an explanation for that remark. It just doesn't exist.
I got boots. Knee-high leather boots with 3-inch heels. I wuvs them! Plus I don't even fall over when I walk in them, aside from the fact that they are literally about 3 sizes too big for me.
What I love even more is... THE 4TH VOLUME OF GRAVI! It's out early, good people, so go buy it and make people some money. It's got a vampire story at the end, too, so I probably couldn't be happier. Hee hee!
I bid you all jaa ne. See you whenever. *falls asleep*

GRR! *smacks head on desk* I need to talk to Gerry! Reasons:
1) I'm thinking about doing away with the whole layout and fooling around with colors instead (colors, ooh...), but I don't want him to feel unappreciated.
2) When I add new friends they don't automatically show up on my page because of the layout, so people don't know when I add them. :(
3) I'm worried about him again. So many people disappearing. Gah. T_T
And thus is concluded my pointless rant. Just needed to get that out.

Shit. Bad day. Horrible day. Full of second chances I won't be able to fulfill.
I failed math just like I expected. An F. Yep. But Mr. R. talked to my mom and I get a second chance at math. I'm really grateful for that, more than you can imagine.
I'm gonna fail lit. though, and I don't think Sr. believes in second chances. She asked me today for a summary of the book for the book report I missed, and I tried to hand it in to her but she ignored me. -_- That lady is just messed up. Somehow, some way, there is something terribly wrong with her brain processes.
I need to retype my Old Glory essay for English, blech. I'm glad Miss Smith understood though (I deleted the file when cleaning out My Documents >_>). She's a good woman, Miss Smith.
The evens won for S.A.D.! Yay! We won by 3 points ^^. I betcha the Corvette made out of chicken wire and papier mache helped.
And tonight I'm going to spend the night at Tassia's, which will be quite fun indeed. Unfortunately it means I won't be home from 6 tonight to whenever tomorrow. *sadness* Still, it'll be okay. I haven't talked to Tassia face-to-face for a pretty long time.
That is all, jaa ne...

GAAAAHHH! I DON'T WANNA GO BACK TO SCHOOL TOMORROW!! *pounds fists on desk and kicks wildly*
Oh please, oh please, oh please...
I am not liking the dance for SAD. My partner for it is Greg (what other guy would dance with me? *sulk*), and, well... At one point the girl even has to fall back onto the guy. It's so...retarded, for lack of a better word. Garr. Now people are really going to think Greg and I are going out, and I didn't even have a say in who was my partner. I'm better off with Greg, I know, but... I'm glad I came back to school eventually, because while I was away and people were learning the dance, Greg and Nick (the bad Nick, the one in my class) had to be paired up, and Nick didn't catch Greg so Greg grabbed his shirt and pulled him down. Go Greg!
Trouble Chocolate Awareness Week was a total bomb. We just had no energy and too much stuff to do. You'll notice I didn't post much either. Same reason. School's a killer, confirmation's coming up fast, and I just don't feel good! On the plus side, if we don't have school tomorrow, my mom's going to take me and possibly my friends up to a mall to hang out and spend all our left over Christmas money and such. Dippin' Dots ahoy! ^^ Jaa ne.

I'm not dead. Just haven't really had anything to post about. Besides our foster dog running away and then turning up again the same night and the snow day we had today that will extend to tomorrow as well.
I went sledding today and almost killed myself! Hurrah! Chains are the best when you're sledding. Especially with tube sleds. Oooh, so much fun. The one time I went down the hill (appropriately titled Suicide Hill) with Ashley in a chain, I was in the back so when we slid sideways I got a faceful of snow spray and couldn't see, so I started screaming. I was sure we were going to hit someone going so fast. Then we almost fell in the creek because Ashley wouldn't let go of my feet. :P Oh well, still tons of fun.
Then Kelly and I went back to Lisa's, stole some of her clothes, ate some of her food, and engaged in a very violent game of Monopoly.
Yes, all in all a very good day.
