Today was rather surreal. Ever since the Gravitation manga became my favorite, I've glanced at the space before GTO in the DVD racks at Suncoast, etc. No Gravitation. Later I figured out you could pretty much either get it imported or bootleg, not the greatest choices of all. So I got the Hong Kong bootleg DVD, and had a fun time laughing at the subtitles. But there were moments I wished I understood what was going on.
So we stopped by Best Buy to see if they had any old GB games (I'm looking for Pokemon red or blue so I can fool around with the glitches---when they came out I bypassed them and went for yellow, stupid me). We swung by the anime racks and--gasp--I looked at that spot before GTO. I'd promised myself I would stop doing that before I bought all the GTO crap out of frustration. But... there it was... Gravitation. Not bootleg. It had dubbing. It had special features. It was not half-Chinese. I thought I would faint. Instead I squealed childishly and grabbed up the box, unable to believe my eyes.
So now I've watched three episodes of dubbed Gravi. The voices kinda suck, but I imagine it's not so easy to find guys willing to do voices for gay anime guys. Ah well. I dont plan on getting the next volume, cuz this one was just out of curiosity, but it was pretty fun. Somewhere, deep down in my heart, I'll really miss those yellow people who were dancing here, and the wonderful words, "dizzling", "guiltar", "robbering"... Good thing I've got both now.
