Exsqueeze Me?
I have a gripe. Grr.
The setup: In art class, we are doing watercolor paintings. Because our class is notorious for never having enough paints, I brought in my own full set, which is in quite good condition and cost a decent amount of money. I had to tell a lot of people that they were not up for grabs, as they kept mistaking them for the class watercolors (same brand, same set), but I didn't really mind, and people were considerate. I let a few people borrow a bit if I felt they were responsible enough to use only as much as they needed, and alert enough to not put them back with the class watercolors. There is a girl in my class named Marian, and I've known her since 4th grade. Not only is she a compulsive liar (not an exaggeration, either), but she's been awfully bitchy lately and she never liked me or treated me well.
The climax: Marian stopped by to ask if she could borrow some. I impulsively said no, because I do not trust her. Marian asked why; I said because she was mean (which she is, or has been to me anyway). The art teacher, we'll call her Ms. S., butts in all of a sudden and says, "That's funny, to hear you say that, because you're the meanest person I've ever met at this school."
Whoa buddy. Hawha? And of course then Marian latched onto her and started telling her about how I kicked her in 6th grade "for no reason" (I had a reason; it was because she was being a bitch and I was very emotionally unstable at that time).
The gripe: At the moment she said it, I was too stunned to think of anything to say in response. Later, however, in CST, I told Tuna about it and she flipped even more than I did. Apparently Ms. S. is every bit as nasty a person as her comment implies--she is extremely rude to the drama department kids, and paranoid about her art supplies to the point of calling the art teacher one room over (their rooms are connected, too) to verify that he said to borrow some from her room. For all this time I had thought she was just cranky in the mornings, but no, apparently she's horrid all the time. Art class is going to suck this year. *sigh* Well, maybe if I'm lucky she'll die in a fire.
Also, me, the meanest person in the school? This coming from an art teacher who will see maybe half the kids in the school at some point during their 4-year career? Yeah, not the most reliable source. She also obviously has never met Evan, aka Satan Incarnate. I hope she does.
